Good God! Get rid of Dave Mark
Another update on this beclowned podcast. When will Jim jetison this Dave Mark. Today he went on and on about the Baltimore bridge collapse with an emotional overprint. What does this have to do with Apple? I don’t care what this joker thinks about the bridge just because you drove over it a few times. I keep coming back to this podcast hoping has either removed the Dave Mark infestation or at least reined him in. I just get angry. I want to hear from Jim, but he just lets the other guy just drone on. Please fix this. What does Jim see in this flaming emotional leftist? Several years ago I reviewed this podcast and commented on the loquacious Dave Mark. He speaks about 95% of the time, leaving poor Jim in the dust. Why does he just keep talking? He is not very interesting. His topic selection needs work. Why doesn’t Jim rein him in? Dave Mark just goes on and on, especially when talking about what TV shows he is watching. He must spend his whole day watching TV. He must do no actual work. Who has time for such indulgence? Good God! Who cares what he is watching. What does that have to do with Apple. The man should try not saying “Um” so frequently and please keep your political views out of the podcast. This is a tech podcast. Jim - get a new partner. Dave Mark is insufferable and I am always angry when the podcast finishes. Also, no hockey talk ever again. I only skip over it.

Jim endures his idiot friend’s uninformed opinions
Knowledgeable Apple superuser and pundit Jim Dalrymples weekly conversation with his friend - who couldn’t be less knowledgeable or experienced. Jim is 5/5. Dave is 0/5. Seriously, Dave just rambles on about things he has read about but has no experience with - or worse - has failed to dig into with any effort. So basically this clown just reads headlines about things and then spouts off random incorrect things. If you have any background knowledge about the topic you’ll be pulling your hair out at how stupid and uninformed he is. I have absolutely no idea why Dalrymple continues to waste time with him. I know I don’t anymore. Sorry Jim. Get smarter friends.

Should be called the Dave Mark podcast
Jim is great but has no business having his own podcast as he never speaks for more than 10% of the show. Dave, OTOH, babbles incessantly. I keep trying the show every few months but nothing has changed and listening to Dave is just cringy.

    Was good but not anymore
For a while this was a regular listen for me, but slowly it spiraled down in quality that I have to unsubscribe already. The 2 don’t do much actual research and usually the show is just 2 guys giving their uneducated opinions on what’s trending on apple twitter news.

Too lazy to actually include links
Subject says it all lazy hard to understand at times and boring at times
  • REALLY. SO SAD. YOU NEED HELP
No one can do this because they don’t know how much I will take them out of my life

    Outstanding Podcast
I must say I listen to several Apple Podcast but this is my all time favorite and I’m anxiously waiting for the new episode to hit each week. Jim and Dave coverage and commentary is the best. Dave is amazing and so knowledgeable and his Curiosity have me laughing and learning each week. Jim honest opinion on all subjects makes my day. The two together is a must listen please keep up the good work. I’ll be listening 😊Thank you !

    Slanted
I’m used to the slanted views that Apple-centric podcasters present in their podcasts. But the frequent comments on this podcast by Dave Mark are just short of libelous. He champions the “privacy” buzzword to an extent that amounts to mass paranoia. We are not going to die because we use a non-Apple product or service. But influencing new users by using his type of scare tactic is doing a disservice to the users and to this podcast.

    Thumbs up mostly
Nice podcast. Unfortunately, the volume levels are in serious need of adjustment. Jim’s soft spoken voice gets lost while his co-host is loud. Hopefully, they realize this because listening to it has become difficult and it’s really ashamed for such a nice podcast.

    A sound program :)
The show is always enjoyable. Jim is a kick, and has really interesting guests. If I had anything that I wish could be different, I think the audio level could be evened out a bit. (Jim can get to sounding really soft and distant, maybe 10dB or more down from the guest.) Other than that, keep up the good work!

    I think she's dead, Jim.
I liked this podcast, though Merlin did tend to blather a bit. But I think he left the podcast about a year ago, and then Jim threw together 4 or 5 with them with associated other folks, and now it's been silent for almost a year. Game over?
  • wplantz
    Should you listen? Yep.
Jim and Merlin have made a show that combines tech and rock music into an hour of delight every week. I have fiddled with guitar back in college and every time I listen I tell myself “I need to get back into playing”. And the tech (mostly Apple) talk is less about specs and more about how does this tech fit into my daily life. Very insightful and the #HeyTDR questions are always fun and informative! This is a weekly must listen for me. Keep up the great work guys. P.S. and Jim’s laugh is THE BEST!!
  • Mac_Daddie
    Disappointed
Why is it necessary to use such profanity. The occasional h*** and sh** can be overlooked but why all the GD's and the most recent F bomb. Come in Merlin, you are a much better communicator than that.
  • Mark on Mac
    Should be the Mann Report
Why is this called the Dalrymple Report when Merlin does 90% of the talking? Nevertheless, one of my favorite podcasts.
  • ScottfromNashua
    Perfect mix
This podcast is a perfect mix between pop culture, technology, all things Apple, productivity and more. Show keeps getting better and has replaced other podcasts in this same genre.
  • Xevious Mann
    Jim, go inside the house
Awesome outdoors podcast about jet flyovers, dogs barking, birds chirping, cars & trucks driving by, and last but absolutely not least, WINDCHIMES!
  • Rocsolid5
    Enjoyable show!
Such a good combination, both Jim & Merlin feed off each other. They need each other just like Batman needed Robin. Abbott needed Costello. The list could go on. Continued success!
  • justin.mi
    Fantastic!
I started listening to the first episode, and quit about 15 minutes in. I just wasn’t interested in all of the music and guitar playing talk. I’m sure glad I gave it a listen all the way through, because now I am hooked! The combination of music and tech is just great, I love how Jim and Merlin just seem to talk about whatever they want to talk about.

    Expect the unexpected
This new podcast has become one of my favorites. You never know what the topic is going to be, but it is likely that there will be some discussion around Apple centric tech, guitars, and 80-90s heavy metal bands. These guys crack me up!
  • MDHiTunes
    Nice
Discussion about stuff, and a lot of the time about music.
  • Seanaudio
    Hilariously informative
Love these guys. Great show! Keep it going.
  • HawkeyeF
Jim & Merlin: What more needs to be said?
Jim Dalrymple: hysterical. Merlin Mann: hysterical. The two together? Hysteria squared. And in the midst of the laughs, exception discussion of various topics. It doesn't get any better than these two together!
  • dougwalk
    Wide, wide range.
Merlin & Jim are an unlikely pair to be doing a podcast together, yet the magic is here. Merlin interviews Jim. Jim interviews Merlin. They laugh. Well, Jim's laugh will set your heart right. Marlins sharp mind will keep you reaching for Google to get the references. Altogether a pleasing combo. Make this one podcast a priority for your week. You will not be disappointed.

Great Pod - Particularly if you’re into tech or music gear
I was quite excited to check out this show, as I enjoy Jim’s take on gear, both music-related and non. I particularly enjoyed the episode where Jim and Merlin reflected on their first guitars, how they learned their way around a 6-string, and what it might be like to learn in today’s techy, app-driven world! Highly recommended show, particularly for those who are into guitars, gear, etc!
  • Theguru420
    Merlin Mann
    Everywhere you can.
  • Sniki-Tiki
Third time listener and not a #hayTDR. Really...
After listening to the first three episodes of this podcast, I am hooked. Thought provoking. Wisdom imparting. Humor dispensing. These two giants are doing what they do best. Helping to make us better people. One podcast at a time.
  • Forced to make a nickname.
    Always funny and informative.
When I listened to the episode of Amplified where Merlin was a fill-in host I immediately thought “This is great, they should do more”. I’m glad I wasn’t the only one thinking that. Give it a listen. I promise that you won’t be disappointed. Tom @socalmacguy

    great new Podcast
I love this podcast. I listen to a lot of tech Podcasts, but this one is just different. It is very relaxed and they sort of talk about whatever comes up, but is it always something interesting.
  • soundorphan
    Thanks to Merlin and Jim
A great podcast that takes advantage of both of the hosts talents. Love the music talk, and the application suggestions.
  • SashkaB
    I waited for this...
Remember, when Merlin Mann was sit in on Amplified with Jim - it was one of the best episodes of Amplified. I though, those two can create great podcast. They did, year or so later. Thank you!
  • ToddPDX
    Love it.
Great team. More content than some of the MM productions
  • Specialrobotdog
    Dugguda Duggada Da
A light and fun podcast from Merlin Mann and Jim Dalrymple that covers all things Mac, guitar, and living-in-the-world. A bit more interactive than some of their other podcasts which makes it feel more like even more cozy and intimate than your typical podcast.
  • Manolopzo
    I fully endorse this podcast.
Jim and Merlin have come up with something great. Seriously. You are laughing with them, and then you are nodding in agreement (or the opposite) when they’re talking serious stuff. Great content and insight. Cheers!
  • transresistor
    Mann and Dalrymple
That wit, that laugh. What more do you need?
  • 5HT2A
    Yes!
    My prayers have been answered.
  • jamanjeval
    Great start!
They're still developing this podcast’s personality but that is to be expected in a first episode. If you like other podcasts with Merlin or Jim, you’ll like this podcast.
  • ITM033
    Genius combo
Jim Dalrymple and Merlin Mann are both world-class podcasters. Now they're finally doing a show together. It's well worth your time.
