sha_nnonJim Harold’s Campfire: A Must-Listen for Paranormal EnthusiastsJim Harold’s Campfire is my favorite paranormal podcast and a must-listen for anyone interested by the unexplained. As someone who has had paranormal experiences, I find the stories deeply validating. While not every storyteller or story is unforgettable, each episode always includes at least one truly compelling story. Honestly, listening to this podcast has reshaped the way I see the world. Thanks, Jim!

Former Harold FanJim is boring. The storytellers have some great stories, but some just come on to talk about a crazy dream they had. Jim seems to have learned little or nothing about the paranormal over the past 20 years of doing this and keeps telling his own tired (4 or 5) anecdotes OVER AND OVER AND OVER. He often appears to be distracted or not even listening to the caller. Also, I just found out he appeared on the Megyn Kelly show a while back. Didn't bother to tell his audience about THAT. You can find it on YouTube. That says all about him that I need to know.

Kabman1009It is backAfter listening from almost the beginning (when there was even an app on Roku), I almost gave up when this show went on on on with pointless stories about someone”s dream or how a caller was sure that some flying creature of some sort must have been their long dead relative coming back to visit. The mantra should have been stay silly instead of stay spooky. These filler stories seem to be excised! The calls are edited with fantastic sklll and the show is reminiscent of its former greatness. Thanks Jim for saving this show. It is once again the gold standard.

Joe PA GalPA Dutch Pow WowAlthough it was briefly touched on, it is very real and accurately addressed. I am a native of PA and my ancestors helped settle the state. German and other immigrants brought over their own medical practices for folk healing and it was mixed with the Christian religion. Authors Thomas White and David Kriebel have written books on the subject. I am looking for more books currently. It is fascinating personally, as I read about things my family did and now I have a background as to where the healing remedies came from. There is also Hexing. If you did an episode or two on the subject, I bet more people familiar with it would have wonderful stories to share.

skmorris007You took the words out of my mouth.Episode: Haunted Dolls that aired on 12-12-2024 on this podcast. I was thinking Twilight Zone, then you mentioned an episode about the Dummy. I was thinking of the Twilight Zone as well, but the episode “Talky Tiny”, where the the girl baby doll was alive and didn’t like the little girl’s mean Step Dad. Love all the shows Jim.

miamomma3019PowwowFirst of all, I love the show!! Becky called in from the UK and had a powwow spell sent to her. She is correct that powwow is a Pennsylvania Dutch folk magic practice. I live in the center of one of the largest Amish and old Mennonite communities in the US and could openable find some materials to send. But, I’m the meantime, she was correct.

nusicman0324Nothings Free Anymore?Love the show, but just realized anything older than October 2024 has a pay wall. 💔

JFWS2010Fun and entertainingI always get to the end of the 90 mins and think “it’s over already!?” Time flies when you’re listening to folks share their true spooky encounters. I love the call in format, Jim is a great host, easy going and kind. It’s also clean family listening. My kids LOVED listening to this show on our way to a over night camping trip, and it inspired lots of conversations and discussions. Highly recommend to pass the time or share with family and friends. First class podcast. Worth getting the paid subscription!

giax12Amazing paranormal podcast!I’ve been listening for over a year now and can honestly say this is my favorite paranormal podcast, I’m so happy I found it! I remember being a little girl in the backseat of my dad’s car listening to “La Mano Peluda” (the hairy hand) which was a Mexican horror radio program that came on at night where people got the chance to call in with their scary stories. Pretty sure that my love for all things creepy came from that. I was immediately hooked when I found the campfire, it even felt nostalgic in a way because it reminded me so much of my childhood! I love the stories and look forward to listening every week!!

Jeff JefftophersonHappy Birthday to me!I’ve been listening to The Campfire and The Paranormal Podcast for a good while now. This year I decided to get a year’s membership to the plus club as a birthday present to myself. Happy birthday to me, & happy new year to The Podfather PS ~ I loved True Ghost Stories 6; I’ll get to books 1-5 soon. Stay Spooky!!

Chessica419THE OG OF ALL PARANORMAL PODCASTERS STILL #1 IN MY BOOKNobody doesn’t like Jim Harold, and his team all these new podcasts trying to be like Jim unfortunately are OK. Jim is the number one best. He started it all and he’ll stay #1 in my book. The voice the genuine connection he has with all callers and interviews he does. His Overall vibe is warm and comforting yet “spooky” at the same time . Im creeped out yet still feel safe while listing to his podcast and voice and reassurance of how we all feel is so special. Thank you Jim and team for all you do and continue to do.

Good Vibes Only 369I love Jim so much!I found out about this show from “Somewhere in the Skies” and I gave this show a listen. I had to subscribe because I loved it so much. You get so much content if you subscribe. I love how respectful Jim is to all his guests. His voice is so great too. Everything about this is amazing. I have two favorite podcasts and this is one of them. Thanks Jim!
-
Lynchy44Jim is the 🐐This show should be given to children in school to help them learn all the fineries of the ghost story. Jim is an absolute gent and a hardworking legend who needs to be recognized!!! If I could rate 50 stars I would

AllyCaz72008Enjoy listening but don’t like rushing peopleI like the podcast but I hate how when someone’s telling a story, especially the interesting ones, he starts rushing people to finish and cuts them off or acts like he’s done listening. It’s kind of awkward and kind of ruins the end of the story sometimes. We want to hear the good stories, don’t rush them off! Other than that, I enjoy the podcast and the variety of stories.
-
pooishpeaAn instant campfire classicEvery Friday (or Thursday evening), I look forward to this show popping up in my podcast feed. I enjoy hearing from everyday people with spooky paranormal stories. Don’t you dare change the length of the podcast. I could listen to ten hours of campfire stories if you had it. The books and the spooky, mysterious campfire classics are all fantastic. The only thing I can’t listen to is Jim sipping, slurping, or chewing during the commercial breaks. It’s like nails on a chalkboard for me. Other than that, I absolutely love the show.
-
Vicca StormSubscribers onlyThey’re not really giving me the opportunity to decide if I like it or not without paying. I don’t want to start the show with the newest episode and there’s only about 6 of the newest episodes that aren’t only for subscribers. I will get on a Patreon IF I like something, but it’s going to take more than your six most curated episodes to help me decide that. Pass.

TempeToxicMaybe Shorter ShowLove the show. Jim is great. I wouldn’t mind having it be a little shorter, though, with less filler stories. There are some really stellar stories. I’d rather have 3 to 5 great stories than maybe 8 or so with some that aren’t as interesting. But Jim is still the best. Love him and love the show. Hope it’s around for a long, long time.
-
CMW051992Jim, I hope you’re okLately Jim sounds so burnt out. I can’t even imagine how exhausting and repetitive this job gets. It’s probably not very financially rewarding either. I sense he’s counting down the days until he no longer has to do this show.
-
Anthony CRMore Gas Pedal, JimI’ve been listening to the CampFire since ~2015. Obviously, I like the show and actually called in one time to share a story. If you listen to this show regularly enough you’ll be treated to some pretty wild tales. There are a few stories I’ve heard over the years that have absolutely stuck with me. That being said, I wish that Jim and the team would be a little more discerning in the stories they choose to air. There are way too many callers phoning-in with some of the most milquetoast, lukewarm stories about a dreams and other subjective junk that wouldn’t pass the smell-test with my 4yo. I’d prefer to listen to a show with only 36 minutes of good content in a given week than a 1.5-hour episode with 4 stories about some lady who saw a bird the day after her mom passed away (spoiler alert: her mom loved birds or something).

GabbyF.Great paranormal showOne of the best paranormal podcasts out there!

Caroline 14~7 yearsBeen listening to this podcast since I was around 13, I’m now 20 and here I am still! The only thing I’m sad about is the fact that the archives are subscriber only now, and starting at episodes so recently back- but everybody’s got to feed their family!
-
7CentsVernNo more people recounting their dreamsI really like your show, but please stop it with the nonsense of people talking about their dreams. It’s dredge and it’s making it unlistenable.
-
sisterhazelNew listenerI am new to the podcast but so far I love it. Got tired of listening to true crime as it began to depress me and I did not come out of the depression when I turned off the podcast. Switched to ghost stories and then I found Jim Harold. His stories are a nice mix of sad, funny and uplifting. This is my favorite new podcast! Thank’s Jim.
-
mdma4lifeGoing Downhill FastThe stories on this podcast used to be great. Now, unfortunately, 90% of them are some sob story about a family member that has passed away. Show has become unbearable to listen to.
-
what pfI love it also could you tell you one of mineI love how you discuss about it with the person and try to understand them then say what you think but don’t say they are wrong but ya that’s so cool :)
-
dugnponyshowlove it.Jim Harold’s Campfire podcast is always a joy to listen to. Harold provides a friendly voice across the internet as did his predecessor Casey Kasem welcoming listeners in each week to the Top 40 Countdown all those years before. Thank you Jim and the entire team for all you provide… and on with the spooky countdown.
-
dfwguy777777Going downhill fastUsed to love this podcast, but it has been on the decline for months. If there are ten stories, nine will be from a middle aged woman talking about her mean grandfather visiting her in dreams. The tenth will be another middle aged woman finding her mothers ring in a box. Seriously.

notanickname-it'sjustmeThanks to Coast2CoastDidn’t know about this podcast until I heard Jim Harold as a guest on the latest Coast to Coast. Liked what I heard, so found his Campfire pod and subscribed right away. Like his voice, his overall manner, and the caller’s stories.
-
AshD505702Interesting listenI’ve been listening since 2013. There are some really spooky stories in here! Also some boring rambling ones but overall fun!
-

-
CareySmith777The bestJim thank you for giving a platform for all the spooky stories! Love your show!

SmithyWebGone down hillThis used to be one of my favorite podcasts to listen to while I go to sleep. Since 2013, it’s gone completely downhill. Weird high energy, not spooky, and the dumbest callers. Do you want to listen to the same 10 people talk to Jim about the weird dreams they had last week? Do you want someone to give a description of how a crow landed on their roof and this must be their dead grandma/father/mother? And sleep paralysis where people see a hat man? If not, I just saved you a decade of content. The shows pre-2014 are excellent. Why? Bc Jim didn’t need “filler” content and could be selective with using the best content. Now, he’s struggling for quality content on a tight timeline and putting everyone on the show, even fakes. (And if I hear that roadhouse saloon story one more time…. like how many times? 30? And the same story was on spooked told completely different, so something is up on the “facts.”) I’ve been listening since 2009, and before that on the paranormal podcast since 2005. Plus club member and all. I’m canceling my subscription and moving on. You should do the same. It’s sad, but this is nearly the same price as Netflix.
-
Hawaiigirl1978Jim is the bestBeen listening for years, Jim is always entertaining and asks great questions. Thanks Jim!
-
Shai2100My favorite podcasts for spooky stories! The guest stories are a good mix and Jim does a great job asking follow up questions. I’m a plus club member and the archives for this podcast alone make it worth its weight in gold. Can’t say anyone loves ads, but at least these are well placed (and it is a business after all).
-
chefjannesTrue professionalStories from all over the planet from cryptids to ghosts, ufo’s, big foot etc. Enjoy Jims smooth voice and creepy stories from real people!
-
Sonicninja1Love the storiesI just love all the different personal stories, I just wish that Jim would coach the speakers not to use the word “um”. It’s very hard to listen to what seems like a great story, but when every other word is “ um”, I just skip to the next story.
-
ATXPodcastAddictMy ghostly entertainmentAs a person with a deep appreciation for the paranormal, I love the volume and care of the personal stories shared around the campfire!
