Answers to the Universe in 15 Minutes or Less

Who created the universe? What happens after we die? What can we learn from heartbreak? I asked these vague-ish questions, and something interesting happened.Everyone started gravitating towards the same, specific answer. And while they used different words and maybe a different lens, they chipped away at the same idea.So I put their answers next to each other to create Answers to the Universe in 15 Minutes or Less.

    Simple yet thoughtful
This podcast is so simple yet incredibly thoughtful. I’m not sure if I have ever heard a podcast that uses this kind of format but it works and I truly enjoy it. I would 100% recommend this show to anyone.

    Simply Beautiful
This show accomplishes something in 15 minutes that artists and creators have spent centuries trying to master. Genuine human connection. It only took one episode to have me crying in my living room feeling grief, love, comfort, and understanding. I am an avid podcast listener and this is the only show that has ever moved me enough to leave a review. It is so incredibly well done!

Short and sweet and packs a punch
So heartfelt and genuine. Rainie speaks with such gentleness and all her guests are so vulnerable with her. Who knew an episode about being afraid of death would turn my entire day around and make me so grateful to be alive? I love love love this podcast

    Beautifully honest
This podcast is so beautiful and I LOVE that she came at this from a place of wanting something creative that wasn’t for commodification. This podcast says the quiet parts out loud with honesty and vulnerability.

    Omg!
Rainie this is so beautiful! Having kids, I am so afraid of death. More afraid of not being around for them or seeing their milestones. I want to see them grow and have babies of their own. I’m more afraid, however, of them passing before me. So yeah, death is terrifying to me!

    little lantern
Being human is so hard. We know so much more about how hard it is today because of access to information and the bold-faced ways in which we mistreat each other and our world. I have loved Rainey from the first day I heard that beautiful voice in my ear buds, but I didn’t know how much I also needed her tenderness and optimism. I’m sitting here crying on my lunch break after listening to one episode. You are brilliant and powerful. Thank you for sharing your eyes with us. We need them more than ever right now.

    Thought provoking and healing
Every episode leaves me thinking about what was shared. It is so so healing to hear people talk about these topics so deeply with Rainie. She has a way to bring up these sensitive topics so gracefully.

A Spiritual Meditation Experience in the High Desert
After a long day of hiking through Oregon’s high desert, I decided to listen to this podcast for the first time, while resting in the shade and in the breeze. It felt deeply spiritual, especially after such a stressful week. I closed my eyes as the soothing conversations and gentle cadence wrapped around me like a warm, familiar embrace, arriving precisely when needed. It was the perfect complement to my peaceful weekend retreat.

An absolute gem of a Podcast
Rainie has the unique ability to ask questions that would seem blunt coming from someone else in such a meaningful, empathetic way. I love her ability to ask literally whatever is on her mind in such an accepting atmosphere, that is developed with her guests as a direct result of the energy she puts into any space.

    Free therapy?
In this economy?! I was not prepared for how quickly listening would evoke deep emotion and thought. Rainie is a true gem and her eagerness to embrace life and all it’s wonder and hardships is truly touching. This body of work from her is worth your time, I promise.

    Poignant, funny, and engrossing
It’s hard not to hear Terry Gross and Ira Glass in Rainy Toll’s deft interview style. Her inquisitiveness, humor, and empathy put guests at ease and lead to great interviews that are a joy to listen to. Despite these all-star public radio comparisons, Rainy has a style and voice that’s all her own, and it’s exciting to see her step fully into her own creative element with this show. These episodes are short, but I find I need some downtime after listening to contemplate what I just heard and absorb it — the opposite of our usual disposable modern digital culture. Highly recommended for anyone who loves a thought provoking, emotionally probing interview show.

    Refreshingly deep and poignant
Rainie, so glad you’ve started this pod!! You’ve always been such a wonderful interviewer and so thoughtful in your questioning. Episode 1 had me almost in tears. Thanks for exploring these tough themes for us and with us. Only suggestion would be to introduce which guest is talking before they speak so we can get some context when they delve in deeper. I’m excited to see where this heads :)

    Amazing work
The first episode hits home with the questions that everyone has, but is too afraid to ask. The different stories and perspectives is wonderful, and this podcast is a nice little philosophical break from the world.

Rainie! This was amazing. I am at work fighting tears on your first episode. I’ve always said you are great interviewer and needed your own separate space to do this. Keep this up! So proud!! -Love a stranger from the internet
