Who Killed Bob?

Why was mild-mannered, middle aged Sue Neill-Fraser convicted of murdering her partner Bob Chappell on their yacht in January 2009? It was a circumstantial case – no body, no witnesses, no weapon and no confession. Sue has always maintained her innocence and is now in her 13th year of a 23 year sentence in a Tasmanian prison. Psychologist and film producer Eve Ash jumped in at the deep end and has meticulously dissected this case for 12 years in a search for the truth. When Eve was joined by former homicide task force detective Colin McLaren the twists and turns became frightening. For everyone who believes in justice, this podcast will be a shocking eye-opener about a case destined to be Australia’s worst wrongful conviction.

    Keeps your interest
    I’m enjoying this podcast. Sometimes I wonder if it could go a bit faster, but it is very good overall. A nagging question is whether this poor woman had a lawyer sitting with her at trial. I just finished episode seven, in which some attention to her defense allowing a prosecution gimmick to go ahead (I think it was the luminol picture of the dingy) was finally raised. I do not know how many times I’ve wondered aloud “Where is her lawyer?” while listening…. I hope this topic os discussed.

    I’ll never understand
    One of the reasons Sue wasn’t granted a new trial is because the prosecutor and police say she “lied” when they interviewed her. But nobody seems to realize that she was given Valium by her physician! I don’t know how much she took , but she was interrogated right after and the next day. The way she was answering questions, it was obvious she was having problems remembering events correctly because Valium can cause memory issues and confusion. The police and prosecutors did a great injustice with their tunnel vision. It makes one wonder………

    Gripping, Eye Opening, but Mostly Horrifying
    Physically sick with every episode due to the great injustice in this case. This podcast does an excellent job telling Sue and Bob’s story, poking massive holes in the case against Sue, and highlighting the disgusting corruption within the justice system. I recommend listening and supporting Sue and her family however you can!

    It’s a good story. But told about 50 times in one podcast
    I found myself not caring a lot in this podcast when it came to repetitive details. This could’ve been handled in a four part series for sure. I’m not sure I’ll even finish based off of being a little bit bored. It’s too bad because the story seems pretty intriguing in itself

    Great research and investigating. Tasmanian Police who had very little experience with murder cases, railroaded an innocent woman.

    This reminds me of the Amanda Knox case. They’re just making anything fit their narrative & ignoring anything else. This is scary because it could happen to anyone.
