    Amazing Concept
I really enjoy both of Sam’s attempts to cover unusual and different places. I especially like Extremities as a podcast and I hope he will continue it in the future.

Brings to life one of the world’s remotest places
I’ve been fascinated by St Helena for years and have always wanted to visit. This podcast and the companion documentary on the airport are so interesting. I’m looking forward to visiting and staying at the Mantis Hotel sometime soon. It’s a a bummer the Extremities podcast seems to have ended, likely due to the pandemic. I wonder where they were planning to go to next.

    Every season is my favorite
I’ve lived in major cities my entire adult life and I am captivated by this series. Sam does an excellent job of providing a glimpse into the lives of people who live in the far reaches of the globe and the fascinating history of how they each came to be. I’ve only recently discovered it and still holding out hope for season 4 and beyond! Love this series!

    Fascinating
I’ve started going on long walks and listening to podcasts during this COVID time, and Extremities is absolutely up there as a favorite. Such interesting stories and so well told. And whenever I start wondering something about these unusual places, in the next episode it’s answered. Highly recommend!

    Favorite podcast
I love learning about foreign, forgotten little settlements of humanity all over the world. Each episode is well-researched, written, and narrated. When they start going to these places starting in season 2 is when this series really becomes great.

Great Storytelling, Audio Levels Need Improvement
Love the show - the writing and storytelling are very thoughtful and the show concept is unique. The only thing driving me crazy are the irregular audio levels. Sam’s narration has really good audio quality, but the inflection that he uses in his presentation causes parts of words, particularly towards the end of a sentence to be really difficult to hear. A lot of the interviews of other people recorded in the field are equally difficult to hear - sometimes I can’t hear their entire statement without really cranking up the volume. Some more attention to the audio mixing would be a huge improvement!

    Well researched and thorough
Really like this podcast overall but the way he speaks is a bit dull and is difficult to pay attention to.

    Interesting and helps me sleep
I love his YouTube channel, and I will play over old episodes to fall asleep at night, so when I found out this podcast was a thing of course I had to check it out. It helps me sleep so well as well as interesting research and information. I’d highly recommend!

Wendover and HAI except 9-36times longer
I think it’s fairly self explanatory why this is awesome & the only negative is no editor notes which is fairly minor season 1 and 2 and the special are fun to listen to when doing whatever

    10/10
Exceeds the expected level of quality from the content creator. If you enjoy any of Sam’s youtube channels, you will undoubtedly love this podcast, and if you enjoy this podcast, it’s well worth checking out Wendover Productions and Half as Interesting on youtube. Very excited for future seasons and all of The Nerd Kings future projects!

    Well researched and told
I’ve enjoyed Wendover videos for a long time. I also really enjoy Extremities. It is thoroughly researched, and it is presented in a way that is both entertaining and informative. The only negative is the style of the narration, with its halting speech. It’s odd how Sam raises and lowers his tone and pauses often, and I find that it distracts my listening. While that keeps me from giving this a fifth star, that shouldn’t stop other listeners from enjoying a very solid podcast.

I like the content but there are now season or episode numbers so it gets kinda confusing

    Good
Just listened to the first season it’s great like Sams channel but more detailed and a More defined subject.
  • michael baugh
I want to love this show
But the narrator is so dry, repetitive, and monotonous. I’m listening on 1.5 speed and he still sounds like he’s even boring himself. The topics are really interesting and unique but the storytelling kills the whole thing . Just listen to the first two minutes of either season and you’ll see what I mean.

    Sam does a great job
If you like this podcast you should watch his YouTube channels Wendover productions and Half as interesting
  • 42111
    I love this show but....
I wish there was a way I could listen to each of the episodes in chronological order or just have all the episodes from a season merged into one large audio file so I could listen to them from beginning to end. It would be a lot easier to binge that way. Also, have you ever considered going to New Hampshire?
  • RL129042
    I love this show.

Great concept with cool topics from an interesting guy
I hope that this show gets a second season. The first was great and judging by the creator’s YouTube content I’m sure that there will be more great topics to come.
