NdcatesAlways insightfulThe latest podcast with Evan Slater might be the best. It was a great glimpse into the last 30 years of surfing through Evan and Scott’s experiences. Their friendship and shared experiences were very fun to listen to.

NobodywatchGreat guests, poor interviewerScott would do well to get out of his way in these episodes. Seems to bring his own opinion into each show and uncomfortably try force it into the interviewee’s face. Should stick to people over 50 since he hasn’t evolved since the 90’s. Biolos interview was cringe worthy. His access to excellent shapers is great, but his San Diego tunnel vision limits his ability to relate to the surfers living in the rest of the world.

D and J Wooden BoardsLongboard Magazine for your ears!I can’t say enough about the work Scott has put in here. I used to love reading Longboard Magazine for the legends articles. I’m a huge fan of surf history and Scott nails it every time. I’m so grateful we have these stories and interviews to enjoy from this point forward. Thank you!

Brn WlkrGreat workScott, I’ve learned more about surf culture from your podcasts over the last couple years than I did spending decades reading surfer and surfing magazines growing up. Thank you. Keep em coming. Boogie Handplane Brian 🤙🏻

mono----no----awareSo much more potential but feel short of expectationsWas so excited to hear an in depth podcast with Daniel Thomson but was so disappointed I had to write a review (and I never write reviews). Scott jumped around all over the place with lots of awkward pauses, he missed the interesting parts and comes off as an money grubbing non-core industry dude asking questions like did getting this Firewire deal get you rich, did you get a house, did it get you a wife or a girlfriend, did you get famous, etc. can’t believe he didn’t ask basic questions like what was your journey to get where you are (pre Firewire) how did you come up with your ideas and what were your influences, tell me more about your design principles, digging into some of Tomo’s innovations, etc. Maybe Scott did but I shut it off after 40 minutes. Am really hoping Scott takes this feedback to heart and improve because there needs be a good podcast focused on board design.

Yeahguy65Good StuffAlthough Scott has always struggled wtih production sound quality; the content i.e the guests, are great and Bass does his best to let it breathe. Also dig the surprise music selection at the end of each one.

CharlessaInsightfulThanks Scott. Enjoyed the T Patterson interview. The feeling of being a grom invited to paddle out with the elder statesmen at the local creeped back in. Shivers. It was fun riding through the memories with you and Tim. Great mental departure from my suburban life.

Mama squabEchoes of Down The LineBefore the David Lee Scales era, Scott Bass’ Down The Line podcast had a fuzzy, surfy feel. David Lee Scales came into the picture around 2013/14 and the podcast got really WSL-heavy, with a tendency to steer towards subjects that Scales is comfortable with—namely, rehashing articles from surf media websites and talking about brands and branding. Gradually, David Lee Scales’ efforts to build a podcasting empire all but consumed the lingering soul of Down The Line, ultimately renaming the podcast “Spit.” With the Boardroom Show Podcast, Scott revisits his core voice, talking about surfboards and surfing with interesting people, shedding the fat and bringing us more of the good stuff and less banter about the size and color of Filipe Toledo’s last bowel movement. Thanks Scott for getting back to your roots! Keep it up!

KookitoutScott Bass is hilariousMy props to Scott Bass for starting a new podcast. The first episode is very informative -- an insiders look at wave pool technology. No body else is doing interviews of this caliber focused on surfing (except for David Scales of Surf Splendor). I hope Scott continues to bring the humor even though the Boardroom seems kinda more serious than his other podcast Spit. Anyway rock on! Loved the first episode.

Cbrody2008Back to the beginning of it allScott was broadcasting surftalk when people still listened to the radio. You are wise to create your own outlet separate from the chop hop dude, as he is overplayed and you are not. Cant wait to hear what u put out, hoping for more honesty, industry insider scoops, good interviews and of course sagelike surf wisdom!
