No one else out there has a Google Ads podcast like Chris Schaeffer does. Chris is the real deal.. I’ve spoken with him by email repeatedly over the years and did a one hour consult with him on a plumbing campaign client, in a hyper competitive local market, that I just could not get enough legitimate traffic for, at a reasonable cost per click. I have been managing Google Ads since 2008 for my business and a fair amount for other companies as well. No hype with Chris, just pure how-to and great strategy tactics. During the consult, he worked in real time, starting from scratch with my campaign and gave me a whole new strategy for the campaign. I was afraid that I was going to lose this client, but now he tells me he is going to up his spend, after trying unsuccessfully to build his business with other methods.

This is the first podcast I have ever reviewed because it is just that useful. I especially loved the episode with Joey Bidner since I work with E-commerce brands. The code he provided for enhanced conversion tracking has helped me capture more sales!

A must listen

I’ve been listening to this podcast for about a month now and I really enjoy how much detail Chris gets into in each episode. I also really appreciate the variety of topics- and while the subject matter changes often, it’s easy for the listener to understand the context as Chris does a wonderful job explaining it for those who may not know whatever the subject matter is referring to. I only wish she would produce more than one week because I’ve already caught up!

They talked about nothing for 20 minutes. Wasted my time. They are good and talking around the content. They could have covered the content in five minutes.

This podcast has helped me more than anything else on my paid search journey. I landed my first big google ads client a couple months ago and definitely would have lost them without Chris and Jason’s help. I was doing everything wrong, too many broad keywords, wrong bidding strategy, minuscule impression share. As a digital marketer who does work in a few different service at a agency I’m always looking for ways to keep learning. The problem is most of the people who frame theirselves as digital marketing gurus are absolute snake oil selling frauds, and the few legit people are boring. These guys are very knowledgeable and aren’t boring. Now if I can find someone who makes content about SEO that doesn’t make my ears bleed I’ll have gotten somewhere.

These guys drop knowledge bombs week after week. Chris follows up with informative example videos that open my eyes to new corners of the platform. Jason’s cool too, no matter what anyone says!

Recently stumbled upon my new favorite comedy podcast from 2 of 3* guys who coincidentally happen to have a particular skill set when it comes to Google PPC. I most appreciate Jason’s humility. Since he would never bring it up it should be known that he is arguably the world champion PPC expert in his weight class. *To the show runners, many of us are perplexed by the Jimmy character and suggest that the sooner he gets killed off the better. Perhaps food poisoning would be plausible and not arouse any suspicion.

I’m 23, some would say a “millennial”, and some people HATE people my age and say we have no work ethic or drive, play ping pong during the day...and dare I say, take my birthday off. Well, one of those haters hosts this amazing show, Jason Rothman. Because of this man (can’t forget Chris though, I need him too just like his friend on The Real World did), I’ve applied myself religiously since July 2020 into the world of Google Ads. All day everyday I listen to this amazing podcast, read blogs, study books they recommend, watch their YouTube shows, sift through the PSP Insider & Patreon archives, and talk with my fiancé so much about google and this podcast that yes, she knows all about this show too...all with the end goal to make Jason eat his words (just like he did with his dogs seizure medicine...). 2 months later I feel confident in my ability to help businesses with PPC and have a couple client successes to show for it. This podcast is awesome. I listen while at work and hoping to start using some of their tactics when I can sit down behind my computer. I do see Jason as being not only the best in the world at what he does but it wouldn’t be a stretch to say he’s the best in the universe. He’s not perfect though. That would be too much of a burden. It’s easy to become jaded with all the online marketing “gurus” willing to self-promote through podcasts. But, this is something different. Jason and Chris are truly experts in the field. Watch a handful of YouTube videos on Google Ads, and then listen and follow along with this podcast (including past episodes), and you’re probably going to know more than most highly paid pros in this industry. I wish there were comparable podcasts in other areas like SEO and social media. This is a stand out show worthy of recognition. Thanks for putting this together every week, guys.

I stumbled upon the paid search podcast at the end of 2019 while preparing for a road trip. After listening to an episode, I quickly realized not only would I be learning, but laughing too! I listened to 16 hours straight the first time I discovered the podcast. Chris and Jason are class acts and sprinkle in marketing gold for us all to enact in our own businesses. Even if I disagree with something that Chris or Jason says on the podcast, they at least back all of their reasoning up with logic.

I’ve been a Google Ads Consultant for the last 5-years and I have to thank Chris & Jason for helping me level up my skills over the last few years. As someone who works by myself, I consider these guys to be my “unofficial co-workers.” Their perspectives and opinions help me to consider alternative optimization options for my client accounts. No, that’s not clickbait. No, that’s not an exaggeration. It is simply a fact. Chris and Jason are not some so called “PPC experts” sharing top 10 lists and boring commentary on things anyone could find out about Google Ads. They dig deep into topics with real world insights based on what works right now and what doesn’t. I was looking to level up my PPC skills and I stumbled across Jason & Chris several months ago. I've tried other PPC podcasts but none of them are as practical (and hilarious) as this one. Since then, I've made more money for my clients and for myself. This is ONLY podcast I get excited to listen to every week. This and the Patreon after show. I don't pay for the video feed for the Patreon show, but I imagine Jason and Chris slipping on Egyptian cotten robes, lighting their cigars with $100 bills as they wax eloquent about the business of PPC management. I have really learned about google Adwords and the mindset you need to have towards some campaigns. I am from Peru. I still need to learn a lot and I will love to go towards a career in this industry.
