CaityCHappy to see you back! Was getting a bit worried there, given that there was such a long time without a pod. It’s funny — even though I’m no kind of racer, truly not even any kind of rider except on my daughter’s old Raleigh attached to my Saris trainer, and don’t really understand most of what you are talking about (though learning), this is one of my favorite pods. The only thing that I’ve got in common with you all is that in the mid or late 80s, a boyfriend who worked at SF’s Lincoln Cyclery gave me a rainbow painted Klein. Which LOL I rode on paths in Golden Gate Park and on the road up in far western Sonoma County. Decades later when moving cross country, I gave it to my bike shop in exchange for boxing up the 2 family bikes and shipping them from Marin to NYC. It was in great condition and I liked them so I was aware that I was probably giving them a pretty good to maybe even great deal.

zephyrmaster🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ - Five pepper emojis for the spiciest cycling podcast aroundI love this spicy podcast, with three spicy hosts delivering hot fire on a weekly basis. Mispronunciations, factual inaccuracies, and a pervasive undercurrent of unprofessionalism form the foundational bedrock of my favorite listen while riding my bike. I cannot emphasize enough how spicy this podcast is, and how deserving it is of five chili pepper emojis.

kmckisHip to Fred’sThese guys were once super cool bike messengers. At least in their own mind. Now they are older, losing touch, Fred’s that banter about inane and usually inaccurate things. Sometimes funny but mostly sad and a waste of time. If you want to be funny, at least try to be in the ballpark of accuracy within topics. Also the snide leftist politics is prevalent. So that tells you how idiotic they are in their echo chambers. Also, Protect woman’s sports. They don’t.

minhvkiVisit the “Good News Garage” for bikes.Tom and Ray Magliozzi ran the Good News Garage” in Cambridge , MA and also happened to have the most popular show on PBS: Car Talk. In the beginning they actually talked about cars, and then, over the years, drifted off topic. This is Car Talk for bikes.
-
FtWPantherGreat podcast!Always entertaining, good information, and great personalities. If you’re a cycling fan, give this podcast a spin!
-
Madone10Hilarious good fun!Beautiful way to relax, enjoy current World Tour racing talk, and laugh a bit at the tomfoolery, obsession with Bling Matthews, worship of Alejandro Valverde, and mispronunciation of the name of nearly every famous rider in the pro peloton. Enjoy the ride!
-
SactoslatsGreat guys, great funA really fun listen. Reminds me of hanging out with my running/cycling buddies.
-
DeepbrookWit, Wisdom, and TimHow Tim, Matt, and Spencer continue to be compelling after nearly 400 episodes baffles me. But wow do they deliver. Observation plus irreverence creates a fantastic listening experience. I finish each episode more entertained and less knowledgeable than I started ... and am better off for both of those outcomes.
-
cup of zenThe Dungeons & Dragons of cyclingA great cycling podcast that has more corners than a dodecahedron & the only cycling podcast that is able to keep the interest of my 12 year old daughter
-
SquillyTheKidSensationalThis is where I come for a wide variety of subjects related to cyclosport. Bikes, advice, rumors, anything. Truly good insight, and hosts who don’t take themselves seriously but do take the quality of their content seriously
-
quadelirusTruly the rail-bike of cycling podcastsI won’t say you're going nowhere fast with this pod, but the dad-joke banter take and grodeo clown atmosphere certainly make for one slow ride on this rail-bike ride of pro cycling (and not so pro cycling) commentary, which is really balanced out by the regular segments with special correspondent Michael Matthews. Definitely holds the championship belt of my heart (at least for another minute or two). That’s Allaphillipe I have to say about it.
-
Directeur de shaversportAddition by subtractionI can’t put my finger on what was different in the most recent episode, but the witty banter and inside jokes seemed elevated. Should be nominated for best Sound Editing in a podcast episode.
-
yellow treeLow information, lots of opinionsExcited to find a new podcast as a new fan to the sport. Tuned in for Vuelta coverage just to hear so much snark & in the know jokes & jabs about cyclists that really added nothing. Then they went into other prominent races while dissing cyclists without explaining why a rider is disliked. Every fan base has these people who are in the community & don’t truly invite you in but make it apparent they know more than you. Every other network makes cycling interesting & accessible. Hard pass.

DolomiteTXThe Pod for The Snarky CyclistThese gentlemen are at many turns inane, puerile, and spot-on about the ridiculous sport of cycling. So many inside jokes and hilarious takes on cycling culture and petty slights unearthed through their storied amateur cycling careers. Hang in there for their silly cycling themed mystery radio serials. Such good stuff! I look forward to every Tuesday being Slow Ride Day on my dog walks. Subscribe today. You’ll be glad you did.
-
Mads DivelA serious take on pro cyclingDon’t listen to other cycling news sources, the predictions and analysis of these guys is always spot on. I can’t recommend the podcast enough, no matter how or what you ride. If you like bikes and factual news, you’ll like this podcast. Not at all funny, but seriously informative and thoughtful.

Shoop There It IsOperation Mockingbird still existsAnd these three CIA covert plants — Tim Matt and Spencer — under the watchful eye of spymaster Phil Liggett would have you believe that Dan Martin is an American. Ha!

Zabriskie's RevengeThe Slow Ride: A Cycling Podcast: A ReviewAs a progressive mid-30s white cis male from the midwest who raced for a season a decade ago but still rides fully kitted out in ciclamino on my titanium Litespeed on the weekends...the Venn diagram between myself and TSR is a single (purple) circle. This podcast is the equivalent of Thomas Voeckler's pain face: goofy and ridiculous, but it belies the real work that the trio puts in every time out in order to entertain.
-
stinkballLove the show, but...I always have to wade through the cycling talk to get to the PC banter. GIMME THAT BANTER!
-
Rob.RoadieAs goofy as Lycra itselfWe cyclists see ourselves as athletes dedicated to training, attacking, suffering and “epic” rides but, in truth, most of us are weekend warriors dressed up like weird suburban superheroes who “play bikes.” That’s why this show is exactly what we need - three goofballs who embody both the heartfelt passion and utter silliness our sport deserves.
-
ap_kaplanMy Favorite Bike Pod!The perfect mix of politics and cycling. Only thing to make it better would be a daily 10 minute companion pod to listen to between NPR Up First and NYT The Daily.
-
WNickDILike being on the group rideThis is my favorite podcast about politics and Minneapolis sightseeing. Jokes aside, this is a fun pod the takes cycling as seriously as one should and is funny enough to make me laugh while doing VO2 intervals on the trainer. Keep it up!
-
Toyoter91Definitely the worstClearly, these guys have zero idea what they are talking about. Five stars. Highly recommend.
-
J- BombNo longer a cycling showI listen to every episode. Lately it’s been a chore to put up with the politics, I think I’m out.
-
HelolumpyI wish they would stick to cycling onlyI like to keep my sports separate from politics but Woke-ness has slowly crept into the show. I was giving it a pass but it seems that every episode there is some new issue that drags them into politics. I used to really enjoy this show but I get bombarded with politics everywhere and I can take it when I want to just listen to cycling.
-
Jjmaster500Three Woke BlokesEnjoy the pro cycling discussion.. once you get past their pc banter.
-
agnjfNo No You KnuckleheadsI’ve been listening for a long time but not via Apple, so I had to figure out how to get here and give my long awaited five stars. I love being able to yell “no no you knuckleheads” with a smile on my face to this trio. It’s Big on lots of little laughs. And I won’t even make a little guy tie in. I like cross the best, and know nothing of the road, but these cats keep educating me on the Spring somethings and Tours of wherever. Now if they could just cover Enduro and more gravity, I could laugh even more. I never miss a episode. A Guy Named Joe
-
matt.hutter87Good stuffThe bike content is good. The goose content is top notch, best around. One of my favorite podcasts hands down.
-
instaanonymousLike in-lawsMy first few listens started out well enough, until after a few episodes where I just couldn’t stand the hosts anymore. They no doubt have their street cred as they mention their “messenger days” on the mean streets of Minneapolis quite often, so I suppose their smugness is warranted. They’re better than everyone in the pro peloton and they know it! Speaking of the Twin Cities, I spent my first 22 years there and couldn’t care less about the continuous mentions of locations within the cities. I can’t imagine how little any from somewhere else cares.

Old N’ SlowGreat pod and next great 26" old school mountain bikeHi guys, First off great pod. I really enjoy it. I was recently listening to the episode where you were talking about the $8500 Klein and what else could you push to reduce the price on the old Kleins? I have a couple of thoughts – first pitch the first gen full suspension Klein Mantras from 1991 or so. The extreme brake jack that was part of the UST rear suspension should help to reduce the price of vintage Kleins. Second – what about the Brodie ClimbMax or the Kona Explosif bikes with the dripped, splash paint job from the 1990? You could try to make those collector’s items. Finally I live in Woodbury, just west of the big hill in Afton. You should consider organizing a group ride from St Paul and loop to Afton for the big hill. Pitch it as a celebrity ride with Little Guy and have a coffee stop at Selma’s in Afton. Just a thought. Keep up the great work. Five Stars. Old N’ Slow
-
TomcncGreat cycling banter!I’ve really enjoyed the show, especially during the COVID pandemic. Also a big fan of Klein corner having owned many Klein bicycles both road and mountain. Keep up the good work!

CORoadieFriends on lonely roads.Since March have been riding solo. My wife works as an RT in a hospital so I try and not risk other’s lives because she is so high risk for COVID-19 exposure so I am solo every ride. My wife did get me bone conduction headphones so I can ride and hear cars while trying not to go crazy from loneliness out there everyday. First I tried music, but that grew old, then I tried podcasts. Yours is one of the best to keep me company, although some of the other riders I wave at, and too few wave back btw, although most team and club riders do, must wonder why I seem to be laughing a lot, even on hard climbs. No doubt they think I have totally lost it from riding 6,000 solo miles and give me a wide berth. Still, thanks for the great pod and making my rides a little less lonely.
-
FdrjbAnybody but...Every week I force myself to listen to the ramblings of these three, wondering which “hot takes” will actually be hot or, as normal, completely off the mark. Regardless, I’ve been listening since ep 112 and am somehow continuing to do so even though this is a mediocre podcast at best. Can’t wait to punish my ears for another 300 episodes.

alex cooper is the better host5 stars ACABFor the listeners you lost

Mimi002244Glorious Outlet for all my inane cycling questionsIf I am a ladycyclist, does it count as a Full Schleck if I am wearing a sports bra? What if I am wearing a sports bra *and* a gold chain? Is it a Fuller Cup Schleck? Anyway, I have no one IRL to talk about pro cycling with so you guys will have to do. Five stars.

Matt M (@ChampionAwareness)Always off the frontSo here's the situation. You're joining your local group ride and missed the rondezvous point. No worries, Tim, Spencer, and Little Guy are with you. You'll meet up with them at the base of Hincapie Hill. It's going to take a full team effort to get there fast. Well, Tim's the road captain, he's got these roads covered and makes sure the those two left turns don't turn into right hand benders to the coffee shop. Time is of the essence, but Spencer is keeping it light and easy on the tandem. Now we actually have to get Hincapie Hill. Ahhh yes, Little Guy is off the front, half Shleck'd, powering the group with his suave pedal strokes on the single speed Klein. Well for me, I am off the back taking it all in. Keep it up fellas. Thanks for taking me to the top of the hill each week.

tony miownyInner bike dorkWhen I first found your podcast a couple years ago I mainly used it to help me fall asleep. Obviously I couldn’t make sense of the witty banter that was going over my head. But, like therapy, over time you guys helped me work through a lot of feelings I had towards bike racing. I realized I had been repressing my inner bike dork since I stopped racing. Since listening to your pod I got my kids into bike racing. Then I tried it myself, taking the mandatory cat 5 downgrade into the “dad category” and loving it. My most recent WAP fan boy move was to upgrade my 5 o’clock bean to grimpeur brothers coffee. This is my favorite podcast, though I’d never admit it. Thank you. Rigga Tony from Rhode D’island PS. I will be saving the 1999 Klein Adroit Pro in my basement for future generations. The luminescent paint job is transcendent.
-
velosteinAlways a hootKnowledgeable guys who’ve been around a long time and seen it all. Never takes itself too seriously. Witty snark but with a good natured take that’s super amusing. I listen to the podcast while doing physical therapy exercises recovering from back surgery and it always makes me laugh out loud. Going back now to the early catalog... episode 31 and counting. Keep up the humor guys — we need it now more than ever.
-
BGLeinCAAD-nundromWhenever a new episode drops, I cherish the opportunity to press play at the start of my local loop ride. The ride is typically about an hour long, giving me a great chunk of time to spend with the Slow pod gang. My wife has become a big fan too, now if only I could convince her to ride her mint and barely been ridden CAAD12 with me. Can you offer a guy any advice? To add insult to injury, her bike’s even got a full Ultegra groupset...
-
Zeppo23Best thing next to ridingThis show is just smart enough to be wise, just silly enough to be funny. And it is probably even better than I am aware, since I am slowly working my way through the catalogue, waiting breathlessly to see who wins the 2017 Giro. By now, no doubt it is so slick, it has fans who say they miss the days when it was just three knuckleheads rating kits and lusting after bike parts. Can’t wait!
-
The Five Oh ThreeGreat stuffBut, hey, this is aimed at the dude in the present who is listening to episodes in the past, up to the present. If in the future you hung in to this point and it is like 2025, let us know if you miss Drunk Tim. Or maybe Drunk Tim returned? Who knows. This whole going into the past to work your way to the future is so confusing....
