Non atheists also really like this show
Hear me out. I’m actually fairly agnostic, in the sense that I believe that there is some kind’a creator. But I do not believe in an anthropomorphized dude in a toga who hates gender fluidity. And I’m aware that religion is 99% useless nonsense. If it went away tomorrow I would be happy for ever. This show is something I look forward to every week. It’s ok to be different. Be yourself and be a safe place for people who don’t have all the rights they deserve.

    Obligation!???
Obligation is a very theistic concept the implication keeps crashing into a random universe of sound and fury signifying nothing. Nietzsche wants you to take it to its logical conclusion…..if God is dead all things are permissible said another thoughtful man who knew the logical conclusion. I would that you consider that apart from God you can prove nothing and without Him you can make no appeal to anything that “ought”to be.

    Keep up the good work
I wish I could speak as eloquently as you folks do when I encounter religious nonsense. Thank you

    Awesome podcast!
EDIT: Ugh, what a difference a few years makes… these guys have since totally lost the plot, as many liberals have, and are a quintessential example of how TDS can destroy people if left unchecked. See also: Sam (bodies in basement) Harris. These guys have bruises between their shoulder blades from patting themselves on the back for figuring out a book of desert fables isn’t real, but will taint their content by wholeheartedly swallowing any nonsensical claim coming from big pharma or left leaning mainstream media, without really looking into the matter from multiple angles and sources. Then, for good measure, they will call YOU every “ist” in the book if you dare to question any of it (No better example than the diatribe from 11/7/24). It’s sad to see yet another example of people living up to the claims of religious figures who insist that atheists just subscribe to a religion of a different stripe. The only difference is instead of kneeling before men who claim to talk to a god, they kneel at the altar of Rev. Fauci, bare arms outstretched, as though men of science and/or leftist persuasion can’t exploit their station for personal gain the same as any cleric. Sadly, it’s a trend that seems nearly ubiquitous in this day and age- people only using their critical thinking skills 50% of the time, favoring one side or the other. The religious still believe in god, but can easily see through the nonsense coming through their screens about all things modern day, while most “atheists” are the diametric opposite. I can only hope that recent events will inspire some introspection and, dare I say, a course correction. Unfortunately narcissists are rarely, if ever, willing to say they got it wrong. I did, which is why I’m writing this now. ORIGINAL: Never before in my life have I looked forward to Thursdays like I do now that I've discovered this show. Noah's diatribes are great- so much so I actually went all the way back to the very first show and binge listened to every single one. Noah and Heath have great chemistry, and nothing ever seems to be forced; they genuinely love tearing theists down as much as we love listening to it happen. This show is appointment podcast listening for anyone who finds religion as worthy of contempt as I do.

    It’s a certain demographic
I was a subscriber for a while, but I started to grow out of it due to binging these episodes. I can see who would enjoy this, but for now it’s not for me.

    Love you all
Love you all first time listening to this show but know I will love it. Hope you all are well. Side not I got an ad for the US Navy before your show started and I figured you all would want to know so you can block it.

Stop with the obnoxious speed talking finish
This podcast is good and funny and creative- Thanks! But why detract mightily with the obnoxious and totally unnecessary “speed talking” at the end of EVERY episode? Please stop. Talk at a normal human pace, summarize, or leave it out. People who have already heard it can just ignore or switch to something different-it does not “save time” for them. And yes I can switch off but until I can rush to bit stop or off I have to hear this horror. People who have never heard it and want the info can’t understand the babbling anyway and will have to repeat or slow it down. Put the info in the episode notes. Why do you do this?

    Great Podcast
I was too harsh in earlier review. Aside from being scathing and bitingly funny, this podcast brings up important points about the giant over-importance religion plays in our country, society, and politics. Noah’s diatribes are insightful and make important points I wouldn’t have thought of. Thank god he’s ok after his medical issue!

    Epic podcast
As a lifetime atheist who survived eight years of catholic school and, decades later, the New Atheist movement, I find myself at home with your brand of news and scathing commentary.

    Amazing Podcasts Online
I can't even remember when I started listening. I remember when Eli was a guest. I have two books signed by Noah (not his real name or profession). Like Cognitive Dissonance, they have grown so much. They offer humility, comedy, and honesty in one package. I don't know which host embodies which attribute. Oxford comma is the appropriate option. When love for LGBTQ+ seems thin on the ground, everything counts in large amounts. And Heath is very tall. Even taller than me. But I have larger hands. Somebody out here loves Depeche Mode.

    My favorite podcast
I savor each week’s episode like I would savor a perfect piece of strawberry cheesecake. I save it to play for just the right chore and am super sad when it ends and now I want cheesecake.

I’m unhoused, trans, and unworried. From citation needed to the skepticrat, the guys and gals and non binary voice talents that make this show happen give me weekly reasons to keep trying, to never settle. I’ve been listening since about 2015, Thursdays are my favorite day of the week. I can’t wait to meet them in person. #lalochezia

    It’s so Scathing!
I got the Moderna vaccine on April 28th, thanks Scathing Atheist! I get the second shot on my birthday. The Three Stooges of Atheism keep me inspired and motivated every week. 😎☮️🏳️‍🌈🍕🍺 I like my Atheist Podcast the way I like my coffee: Scathing!😎☕️

    lol
The only reason they advocate for the boycott of HP is because it’s easy. I wonder how much chocolate they consume or bottled water they drink and whether or not they use literally ANY smart phone? They specialize in moral grandstanding at the bottom and most convenient parts of the barrel. Four stars.

    Even the ads are amazing
The whole puzzle crew, including the ladies, Tim and Morgan, are smart thoughtful and funny. The perfect ingredients to add to the news. Wonderful podcasts and content. My favorite part is when you make each other laugh. I know you put in a lot of work for all your shows but not laughing out loud seems like it would be the hardest part.
  • dolittlemd
    Not worth your time
I’ve listened to this pod and was a paid subscriber for the better part of a year, but given Eli’s complicity with Andrew Torrez and his prolific alleged sexual assaults, I don’t think Eli should be given any kind of platform in this world. Listen to Tom and Cecil instead over on Cognitive Dissonance. Again, Eli was both complicit with Torrez’s alleged acts and has zero credibility. I might come back to being a paid subscriber if they were to show Eli the door, but Bosnick doesn’t deserve a moment of your listening time or brain space.

    Hello
I love murder and this podcast helps me quench that thirst my knowing that the people who listen have annurysums when they hear the religious iddiotocy

    Love these guys
Everyone at PIAT is a treasure. It’s truly heartening to know there exist safe spaces within atheism like the one the crew here have helped to cultivate. Intelligent, hilarious, clever, charitable, secular humans who can keep you informed on the religious maniacs while also making you laugh out loud. They put so much work in, from Noah’s diatribes, Eli’s skits, Heath’s… Heath, Anna’s songs. Great podcast!
  • Tjkusmc
    A must
Love this podcast! Intelligent and humorous.

    But first, the diatribe…
I’ve always been a big lover of words and the power they have, and Noah has a way of giving me chills almost* every single week. ( *sometimes it’s Eli. And those are just as delightful.)
  • SinfulCynic
Make an atheist sport podcast would be great!!
I’m a fellow atheist but always love your sports takes, and since you don’t include them as much in other pods it would be so cool to listen to sports news from you and heath with comedy mixed in by Eli. I would subscribe. Make it like a debate show like undisputed with u against heath with Eli bringing up the topics.

That's Good Work Boys and Girls
If you are looking for a funny, clever atheist podcast, look no further. Noah Lugeon's (a clever pseudonym) diatribes begin every episode and are followed by the hilarious news segment with Heath Enwright (not sure of the spelling there, but pretty it's a pseudonym, too). Be warned, however, that, as other podcasters have said, the Explicit tag is there for a reason. The team, including Noah's wife, Lucinda, is also taking on nothing less than an analysis of the Bible. The segment is called the Holy Babble and does not appear in every episode, but is worth your time. I learned about this podcast from Cognitive Dissonance and over the last few weeks have listened to all of the past episodes. I recommend you do the same. Thanks for the good work, boys and girl. P. S. I originally wrote this review before the absolutely hilarious Eli Bosnick. He really rounds out the team. Oh, and his wife Anna Bosnick occasionally adds an original and often very funny song to a podcast episode. Now I need to add an “s” to my closing line above: Thanks for the good work, boys and girls!

In a wold of blind belief
The Scathing Atheist is here to properly seed the faceless beliefs and dogmatic oppression……but you know in a fun way.

    So much happiness!
I started listening to your show from episode 1 a couple months ago. As a guy who grew up in a mildly religious family, I now have the courage at 50 years old to explain to my family that I’m not a believer after all this time. I’ve spent all summer enjoying every episode and it’s like listening to friends. Thank you for everything and keep up the good work.

    My absolute favorite podcast
Of the dozens of shows I listen to, this is the one I most look forward to every week. I can’t possibly describe the impact these guys have made on my life.
  • AlexanderTGreat
    First podcast love
I was initially brought into the world of podcasts by Opening Arguments, but I really didn’t love podcasts until Noah was a guest and I started listening to Scathing. Noah and Heath were great and that dynamic was only improved when they brought Eli on full time.

My favorite is the Bible Piece Theater. You should save the whole thing and put out a Scathing Atheist Version of the Bible!

    This is it
Coming from a religious background and being estranged from my parents has been isolating but add Im black in a predominantly white area who has more left leaning views and I've been in this lonely bubble for so long until I found this podcast. Everyday I get up listen so I can cope with being alone at this point in my life.Thank you to the whole podcast gang without you, I would be so alone and depressed but this add other factors help me move toward the acceptance of who I am. Again Thank you so much!

    This show cured my cancer
Thanks to Lucinda, Noah, Heath and Ely, I don’t have to deny a swig of MD 2020 from homeless people. Because they cured my cancer.
  • Danielbooth05
If you claim to seek truth listen
Noah, Heath, and Eli will challenge you absolutely. If you want to sincerely find truth, listen up and feel free to fact check. They bring humor and most importantly are unapologetically factually accurate. I dare you to listen and find something incorrect. Plus Eli vigorously sexed the chronic lime disease out of me ha ha
  • Kenpofemme
    Intelligent, funny, entertaining
Don’t be fooled by the hilarious, irreverent vulgarity, this is rich with warmth and humanity. What’s…vegan?
