    Consistently great conversations with woodworkers
Due to a lack of time, I’m way behind on my podcast listening, with over 61 podcast episodes across 17 shows waiting in my listening queue. The MWA Podcast is the only one I’m caught up with. That’s how good this podcast is.

MWA 529 - how to get stuff done!
While the entire episode was good the golden nugget is at the end when Shea talks about finding/ devoting the time to get woodworking projects done. Great to reflect on and consider how to be better at allocating time to projects…

    Needs shorter intros
Good interviews, but they spend waaaayyy too long talking about nothing beforehand.

    Fun, accessible, informative
I’ve been binging the MWA Podcast during parental leave while I drive around getting my infant to sleep. As a total novice, it’s been extremely fun and informative to listen to the hosts talk about the latest in woodworking news and interview some movers and shakers in the woodworking world. I have found this podcast to be among the most accessible to newbies, which doesn’t take away from the high level of detail and discussion the hosts and guests get into. Keep up the fantastic work!

    One of my favorite podcasts
I’ve listened to lots of woodworking podcasts, and this one consistently delivers great advice without all the juvenile over-the-top macho humor you get on others. They have excellent guests who are willing to share their experience and aren’t shy about telling it like it is. They always keep us up to date in the latest tool innovations but with a pragmatic approach to help sort the workhorses from the gimmicks. I spend about 3 hours mowing and doing yard work each week, and this is too on my listening list. By the time my yard work is finished, they have me jazzed about getting back into the shop to work on woodworking projects. Excellent podcast!

    Good stuff
Great podcast - the guys are super knowledgeable but don’t take themselves too seriously. And the guests are great!

    My Favorite Running Podcast
This is my favorite podcast about running and college football. Occasionally they veer off into woodworking news. 🤷‍♂️ Seriously, though, it’s a great source of woodworking news and laid-back chats with fantastic guests.

    Never Annoying
This podcast has never once annoyed me. Ha ha. Seriously, though, isn’t that what a good podcast is about? I listen working in the shop, it’s interesting and entertaining and I’ve never been annoyed and wanted to turn it off. Some other podcasts are good sometimes and just tedious other times. That’s 5 stars for me. 😁

    Great podcast
Great podcast informative guests only drawback is you end up finding out about too many tools and buying them.

Hey I heard you need new material
I’m a ongoing basement freeloader listener to the podcast the guilt is deep I haven’t donated to your podcast or mailed you any Electric Jellyfish IPA from Pinthouse Pizza brewery. I’m in Austin Texas and haven’t made it to a woodworking festival yet, my plans have been foiled the last two years. Your material on your show is up to date I like the industry updates on new tools and methods. You keep things fresh and entertaining thanks! On a side note I have a few giant 600 year old Douglas fir Slabs 50” wide 11’6” long and 2.5-3 inches thick. I’m curious if either of you have experience trying to sell a high value slab Table. I’m trying to put a price on them and it’s tough since I can’t compare with any other table on the market. I would like to get upwards of 10-15,000$ for a finished table. Well I’m in the process of flattening one now and it’ll have legs soon enough. Have a great day

    Usually Pretty Good
I thought I was transferred over to a Runners R Us podcast there for a while (seemed like eternity)

    Concrete not cement
You mallet fell on your concrete floor, not a cement floor. If you floor was cement, it would be awfully dusty.

    Great podcast but
Great information and great chemistry between the hosts. I could do without the references to alcohol since it has nothing to do with woodworking whatsoever.

    Unsubscribed because of audio quality
Good content, bad audio quality. Other shows have it together better.

    Two guys
This is one of my favorite podcasts! I love the way these guys interact with each other. They discuss many various topics that are always entertaining. If I could give them more stars I would.

    A Privilege for the Earballs
Some of the Forefathers of the Bringing together of Makers effort, MWA is to PodCasts what Lie Nielson is to Hand Planes, the best of the best. With a Masters Skillset, Sean and Dyami bring you current news in the maker world as well as a diversity of people, information, and personalities with every episode. Add to that stuff about beer, and you have it all. Absolutely queue worthy :-)

Great podcast, except for one thing
I love this podcast. It's great to hear Dyami and Sean every week as they discuss woodworking and related business with some of the best makers out there. My one issue is with episode #85. Somehow the audio cuts out and is replaced by an ancient chant in a forgotten language. If you listen to it for too long, you will be shown the layers beyond this reality and the truth of the universe will burn your brain to a cinder, leaving you completely mad. I managed to cover my ears, but by that time the demons had already begun pouring in from the dimensions beyond and they really made a mess of things. Fortunately, a later episode explored options for cleaning your shop so that helped. Also now my cat speaks perfect Sumerian.

    Good info but.....
Great information but the audio is atrocious.

    Windsor chair classes
I took the same Windsor chair class that Mark, Chris and Jeff took in February. I just listened to your interview with Jason and there are multiple places to take Windsor chair classes. Elia Bizzarri teaches in North Carolina and I will take a class with Curtis Buchanan in April. Peter Galbert teaches and there are others. The craft is alive and well.

    Overall informative and entertaining
Never a dull moment. Great guests and subject matter. You'll want to listen to them all day. Thanks MWA

    Awesome collection of Interviews
TCD, not the same as OCD but certainly just as compelling. There have been a ton of really great interviews with folks over that last year you guys pulled together. Since I've read about most of the guests at one point or another, it's really great to hear their voices and fantastic they are willing to share their stories with you (and us). Thank you so much for the great podcast - please keep 'em coming.
  • Ms0099rg
    Just ok
Not a lot of information on woodworking to say. Seems to be more about the community of woodworking online. Again it does pass the time driving or in the shop.

    What's on YOUR bench?
Found out about these guys from Wood Talk, and have gone back and listened to every episode. The guests they have on a very informative and educational and down to earth guys. We can't all be Roy Underhill, but somehow I walk away from each episode thinking "Yeah, I CAN do that!" It's even nice to here that they have NOTHING on their bench some weeks. Makes me feel better about the lack of projects I crank out! Great work guys!

    Fidgins,Miller and The Ax Man
Guys, outstanding podcast lately. i have enjoyed it from the start but your last few guests have shot you through the roof, blowing away all of the woodworking competition. i have listened to these last three twice now and had to leave a reveiw. please keep it up, youre doing great and I cant wait for more. BTW, interveiwing Pro woodworkers is the way to go, doesnt matter if they are famous or not. Nice work!
  • I don't like suggested posts
    Great show!
These guys are bringing the online woodworking community together! Each episode offers insightful banter, lots of laughs, and great guests like Ron Hock and Roy Underhill (!!!!) to name a few. Definitely a must have woodworking podcast to have on your favorite listening device.

    Fantastic Podcast!
As a new woodworker I love how these guys are not only passionate about woodworking, but excited about encouraging anyone to pick up a tool and try it! The woodworking community online as a whole is amazingly supportive and the MWA guys are a great addition! Keep up the great work guys, and after hearing about WIA last weekend I hope to see you all there next year.!

    Getting Better
The early MWA podcasts had some very long hammy introductions, off-topic banter and poor audio quality, but now the hosts are opening the show more efficiently and the audio is a bit better (but can still vary). Perhaps with a bit more topic preparation, the show openings could be even more informational. The hosts are very passionate about amateur woodworking and its community, and I think the goal of these podcasts is achieved more effectively when the hosts focus on woodworking related events, online resources and personalities instead of talking about their own personal projects/endeavors. Currently, the MWA podcast's real strength is the interesting interviews with notable amateur woodworkers, magazine editors, and industry representatives. While the main questions during the interviews are very generic, the follow-up questions are usually more focused and thoughtful. Kudos to the hosts for dedicating their time freely to make this happen. If they tighten up their producing skills, I would not hesitate rating this show with five stars.

Some one has got to say it.....
Guys, the audio quality! Some one was typing on a keyboard and it just about drowned out the vocal audio... The changes in volume and the lag in voices makes the show super hard to listen to. I don't know what to tell you to do differently, but everybody needs to be at a consistent volume, stop making all the background noises ( typing , pouring a beverage, thumping, scribbling ) while some one else is talking...... Or at least move the microphone away from the source. Chris seems to have a clean recording set up, but the rest of it is so hard to listen too, and I have to keep adjusting the volume in my vehicle that I usually can't finish an episode. When Asa was on the other night you guys mentioned using google hangout or something?? Maybe try a different way to record the show. It is really hard to listen to. The content seems good enough, I mean if ya love woodworking any conversation about it is gonna be appealing to a dust and shavings maker, but its got to be pleasing to the ears.

    I like it!
I can listen to woodworking podcasts all day long. Plus, the cooking tips & dating advice are the best.
  • Kid_Sensation
    Meh!
Sometimes it's good and sometimes it is bad. The audio can be horrible at times and the conversation sometimes gets really boring too. Hoping by the time they get a few more episodes under their belts they'll work out the bugs, but I doubt it since they have 19 episodes out as today.
  • 1snugthejoiner
    Thank you!
Tom Iovino asked me, at WIA, how the Internet has for me affected woodworking, and while I can't remember exactly what I said, what I didn't say - and should have - is that the web facilitates a conversation amongst guys such as yourselves, from around the country, about all things woodworking on a regular basis. And, you invite others into the conversation, then share it free for anyone who wants to listen. How cool is that?!
  • Singlespeedr
    Never enough
The podcast is very entertaining, the four of you work well together. Always waiting for the next podcast to come out. Keep up the great work.

    Lousy audio is too distracting
In an age where a $100 microphone and a computer can result in a near pro quality production, there is no excuse for sloppy audio and substandard production. Sorry, but with so many well produced podcasts out there, I won't waste my time on a sloppy one.

    Fantastic new podcast
I enjoy listening to the guys talk about the topics that I enjoy. It is nice to know that others share my opinions and to hear solutions to my problems that I may not have considered. Thanks Modern Woodworkers Association! Keep it up!
