This is one of the only hockey podcasts, San Jose Sharks focused or otherwise, with hosts that have some charisma. I wish they recorded more often.

I’ve listened to the show since 2013 but never commented. These guys are amazing at keeping me up-to-date on the sharks and the league as a whole. I only wish they would record more because they keep us up to date with all things sharks! Keep up the good work and thanks for all the time you spend making this gem happen!

Have been a long-time listener. Dudes are always on top of their stuff and strike a great balance between analysis of what’s going on on the ice and addressing any of the (good, bad, ugly, funny) things related to the team. Sharks fans will feel right at home with this podcast. Kudos and thank you for the consistent quality insights.

I've searched and searched for a good Sharks Pod. After listening to most I've settled on the 'Dudes'. While their intro music sounds like something like something from a 90's arcade game, the content is good and I look forward to all their new episodes. Give them a listen.

Then this is the podcast for you. I listened to a few different ones & in my opinions these guys have the best one. Simple format, great tone, good analysis, good production quality. "Nothing makes me happier than when [the LA Kings] are bad" is my favorite quote from the most recent episode.

Listened to them talk about Vegas’ eventual decline for 10 months only to watch Vegas beat the sharks in the playoffs. The only reason I listen to every single one of their podcasts is to make myself feel like a smarter hockey fan in comparison to them. They’re like those friends that you really enjoy seeing only about once a month, but any more than that and they get annoying. That being said, best sharks biased hockey podcast duo in the game. Yo Dudes! I wanna hear more about what sharks are doing to avoid the trap, left wing lock, and the kind of power play variances we see from night to night! I don’t get to catch all the games so let us know when you see a nasty screen set up, a sniped shot, or when pavelski (perhaps one of the great “tip in” artists of our generation) redirects one for a score! The sharks have power forwards, grinders, snipers, playmakers, speedsters and more. Lets hear about what each player brings to the table on each play. Because all of them will be surfing Cowells Beach with Sir Stanley’s Chalice come SummerTime!!! Wooooooo Doggie! Lets Go Sharks!!!

Mike and Doug are great fun to listen to. Knowledgeable, funny, witty, self-deprecating...and all about my Sharks. They are the goofy brothers I never had.

Mike does analytics and makes horrible predictions every draft. Doug is a homer & thespian who makes you feel good about the Sharks. Two good Friends talkin‘ hockey and reliving their glory days of seeing Dan Boyle in a Dudes on Hockey T-shirt. What‘s not to like?

This podcast does a good job covering Sharks hockey and talking about topics I want to hear. However, their often praise of Evander Kane is something I find distasteful. I know what you are thinking, dear reader, “You’re listening to a podcast on the Sharks and Kane is on the Sharks! You’re going to hear about him!” And you are right about that. However, there is a great difference between commenting on a game-winning Kane goal and praising his attitude as “contagious”. One speaks to his skills as a player and the other to his repugnant character. To this reviewer, comments like that this are at best complicit to his history of assault and at worst a normalization of this actions and a trigger for assault survivors. We don’t have to like that Kane’s a Shark, but we also don’t have to rejoice in it. I suppose though, it’s what is to be expected from a couple of self-proclaimed “dudes”.

The boys really echo my feelings as a sharks fan. Love listening to them!

Just like the California-born talent of Austin Mathews and Matt Nietto, Mike and Doug are ahead of the curve that is to come for California hockey. Starved from the blatant east-coast bias of most Hockey podcasts, teal-tears of joy stream down my face when I see a new episode has been published. Go Sharks!

These two dudes talk about the sharks and the Leage the way I talk about it to my friends. In a light harted humourous way they have fun on the air and that come through on the podcast. Consistency of timing of shows could be better, but I always find myself checking daily for a new show and am super hapy when I see one posted. Dude, dude, dude, this show is AWESOME!!!!!

I love listening to the dudes break down the Sharks and the NHL as a whole. My favorite hockey podcast!

I'd be I've checked out more hockey pods than most fans, and DOH emerges as my #3. Yes, I'm a Sharks fan, so that helps, but I like a sense of humor in my pods and DOH delivers that as well. (If you're wondering which pods I rank higher, it would be Unhealthy Scratch's, The Hockey Show, and Spittin Chiclets. Also Ray Ferraro's Pulp Hockey Show is up there as well). My one complaint is that the episodes, even during the season, come too few and far between -- unpredictably. More DOH.

Not sure how i never stumbled across this until now but thank God i did. Ive been a sharks fan since the beginning as a six year old kid and to have this is awesome.

The Dudes On Hockey podcast is quite a departure from run-of-the-mill NHL fodder. In the first place, Mike and Doug, the pod’s co-hosts, sing their observations and analysis the entire time, and, what’s more, it’s all done in iambic pentameter—even the off-the-cuff, ad-libbed moments, which is, quite frankly, astonishing. How they keep that up, I’ll never know, but I scanned an entire podcast and not once did they deviate from metrical groups of five iambs. You might expect, because of Doug’s theater background, a lapse from the Shakespearian into iambic trimeter, the meter in which Greek tragedy and comedy is rendered, but no. And the metrical feet—they’re all iambs—not one spondee, dactyl, or trochee to be found. Incredible. The hockey analysis is pretty adept, too, for laymen, although they do have a tendency, from time to time, to go off the rails with a crazy trade proposal. Regarding their voices, Mike is a pure tenor, and while he can sometimes sing too often from his chest, producing a nasally, diminished tone, when he’s concentrating and on his game, the pure tones he can produce in the tenor range are transcendental—this listener has, on more than one occasion, been moved near tears, especially when he sings about back checking. Doug is a true baritone. He sings with confidence, producing fruity, pleasing tones regardless of what aspect of the game he’s analyzing. You’d expect some emotional variance, depending on topic, but, truly, he produces the same earnest voicings whether he’s singing about the new three-on-three overtime format, the likelihood of Joel Ward ending the season as the Shark’s highest goal scorer, or the departure of John Scott. This whole enterprise is an phenomenal achievement, and, honestly, I didn’t think the pod could get any better--but now with the live streaming video via Periscope, we’re actually able to see the elaborate costuming and dance numbers that accompany the audio analysis. If I could have rated this podcast at six stars, I would have.

It might seem wierd that I support a podcast that has made me out to be a woman but support it I do. Mike and Doug have a way of welcoming us all into their little part of the Sharks world and we have become friends. My family has become fans as well, mainly because they giggle when Doug refers to me in the female vein but I truly appreciate their views of this hockey team that we can't get enough of. I don't always agree but that is accepted and it adds to us all. Thank you, Mike and Doug for bringing us in.

As a Dallas Stars fan I logically hate the San Jose Sharks. So naturally this is the podcast for me. If you hate the Sharks then look no further! Nothing will put a smile on your face more then hearing the hosts (Mike and Doug) sharing their lament as the Sharks seamlessly become the same disappointing team year in and year out. Nothing better than hearing the crushed hopes and dashed dreams of my foes in the western conference ⚔⚔⚔

If you ever wondered whether your old summer theater teacher, who you later literally kept in the spotlight for The Full Monty on stage, could give you great commentary on hockey in San Jose, then I am here to tell you that yes, he certainly can. And he even found someone else not only willing to shoot the breeze with him over hockey, but also ready to bring us the stats we all really want to hear. Seriously a wonderful podcast to keep up-to-date on my hometown team. Keep it up, Mike and Doug.

These guys are true fans and love the Sharks as such. One can tell that they actually like doing the podcast and love the Sharks, unlike many of the media talking heads who get paid to create scoops and/or consider themselves experts on all things hockey. Mike and Doug provide lots humor, some good real data, and of course creative facts based on opinion. All this makes for an enjoyable listening experience. One of my favorite things to wait for every week or two weeks or whenever they feel like doing a podcast. p.s. I was going to give this four stars, but thought it might diminish my chances of winning Mike’s XXXL DoH t-shirt. And no, I’m not gonna eat more, dammit.

Listen to the Steve Dangle Podcast But if you want a good back and forth between two people who agree about hockey... Listen to the Marek Vs. Wyshynski Podcast. But if you want to listen to a podcast specifically about being frustrated with the Sharks where a guy also cannot possibly pick the cup winner despite at least a 50/50 chance and has to buy his buddy a trip to Vegas, well, you've come to the right place. Also, lets pour one out for DB22... He will be missed... Wait, he's still in the league? Huh...

Not a Sharks fan, but enjoy learning more about the other Pacific Division rivals and Mike and Doug’s takes on the NHL in general. A must if you are a Sharks fan, and a good listen even if you are not. Just a shame they cannot find a way to love American Hero Dustin Brown.

Been listening to the Dudes for years now and I love the show. Doug and that one guy always have great insights. I'll be listening to the show until that other guy wins the Vegas Cup, so apparently forever. (P.S. sure hope Doug gets a say in contest winner)

Dudes. If you're looking for a San Jose based hockey podcast, look no further. Especially cause no other such podcast exists. But beyond that, these dudes are exactly what you're looking for. They give you information you need on your favorite aquatically based hockey team in a perfectly good time table for that slow drive home from work. The Dudes, Mike (a former star player for the San Jose Mini Sharks peewee hockey team) and Doug (CEO of a Fortune 500 company that delivers Broadway quality theatre to people across the world) are the perfect duo of dudes. They have such great chemistry together and do a great job of delivering information in an informative and entertaining way. They make you feel like you're sitting at a bar with them talking Sharks over a couple of brewski's like a real group of bros, and it's awesome. I may be a bit biased because I'm a Sharks fan, but this podcast is definitely the best puck podcast on iTunes. Even non Sharks fans can enjoy it because they give solid information and opinions on teams all across the league, as well as general standings updates and thoughts on key players. (Unless you're a fan of the LA Queens or the Presented by Disney Ducks, in which case. Dude. Why are you here?) Northern California is clearly the hotbed of Hockey (Canada who?) and these dudes are 100% the best in the business to cover it. And if you're a fan of the Sharks (or hockey) and not listening to this podcast, it's time to start. It's free. And Doug guarantees you won't regret it. (But if you do, Mike sends you tickets. Hehe.) Mike and Doug have got a great San Jose Sharks podcast going here. They don't pull any punches and are at times critical of certain players, but it's always in the context of being Sharks fans that want the team to succeed and hopefully one day win the Stanley Cup. Very entertaining and insightful podcast. If you love the Sharks, this is really a must-listen podcast.

I download about 10 different hockey podcasts (because talk radio ignores hockey) and I have to admit, this one is my favorite. And I don't even like the Sharks! I’m an Avs fan. Mike and Doug are funny, humble, knowledgeable (more than most), and talk about the entire NHL not just the Sharks. Keep up the great work guys.

Sharks fan from Colorado and I've gotta say that Mike and Doug are the best way for me to still feel really connected with the team. They've got solid opinions, are well informed, and are just easy to listen to. Keep it up guys, lots of people who love what you do. Love the intro song too.

Great Podcast. Mike and Doug have great chemistry. Their point of view is fresh and something a little different than what we get from beat writers and local news paper reporters. What they say is straight forward and spot on! They make no apologies or excuses for the Sharks. Keep up the great podcast dudes...

Puck Podcast. Those dudes have stacks of old newspapers in their living rooms. Mike and Doug are legit goobers and despite that, I love em. They can be a bit homerish (what do you expect in a team dedicated podcast?) but equally critical to the Sharks. The length is just right and even though it's weekly it feels very current. Mike and Doug - RIDE THE LIGHTNING.

I am a Sharks chick who absolutely loves these Sharks dudes. I live over in Ukraine and have found that DoH can warm even the coldest of locations with its fun and knowledgable podcast. Love the chemistry of Mike and Doug who have become like old friends. Nice to feel like there is someone out there who understands me as a Sharks fan - especially since I'm on the other side of the world. Sidenote - all the kids I work with over here know the word I "Shark" in English now since I wear my gear a lot. Represent SJ!

Very friendly and casual podcast on the Sharks….the Dudes are awesome! If you're looking for a weekly go-to place for your Sharks, listen up…however, the Dudes welcome questions from other teams. We've had some discussion on the Flyers and Stars recently too! All in all, best Sharks podcast out there.

The dudes on hockey podcast is a great listen for the average hockey fan and even the more hardcore types. They touch on most details of the game including scouting and the financial aspects of hockey, while keeping bias remarks generally out of the show. Have a listen you won't be disappointed (unless the ghost of Belfour returns)
