    4.5 stars
i heard this book was super boring and i had to read it for summer reading for school so i figured it would be good to listen to the audio. i started listening to it on a flight (i downloaded the first half of the chapters) and it worked perfect. the reader’s voice it very nice to me. overall i loved the book — not boring at all. the only reason i don’t give 5 stars is because a few parts are left out. like the letters and a few chapters are cut short… so you have to read it on your own. but that wasn’t a big deal to me considering most of the rest of the book was covered. i was very pleased overall and super lucky to find this audio in the podcast app so that i could download it. 4.5/5 😁

Cut out a lot and jumbled
Meh. I cut out mid sentence and jumbled a lot. :/

    Piecemeal
They need to have someone reorder the chapters so the story line remains intact.. I’m assuming this is a fluke, my experience with this production company has been very good thus far.. guys, what happened?!

    Falls short
I was planning to download and listen until I looked up the chapter count. According to multiple sources, the book has 24 chapters. This podcast has 22. The last update was 2007. Never mind.

    Frankenstein
Well it was good and I am writing this because it is with extreme frustration that I can. I am on chapter nine and can not locate chapter ten. I will continue to search for the next chapter. I read all the reviews and they are all right. Inconsistent chapters Victor not a man but being told by a woman
  • Some good game!!!!
    Not very good
I think this would be great if the chapters were in order and didn’t cut off mid sentence. There are a lot of important details left out because of that. Also i don’t understand why it’s a female voice reading the book when the entire book is about Victor’s story

    Outstanding orator
This is an excellent reading by a great orator. The inflections and speed of the reading is on par with the pulse of the story without overpowering it. Hard to believe this podcast reading is free.

    Incomplete chapters
Skip this one folks. The chapters are incomplete. I downloaded the iTunes U version from lit2go and it is complete and a good listen.

    MISSING TEXT
Considerable text missing. Not an abridging but just sloppy recording. Only 15 sec of the letters. Random chapters cut as much 5 pages randomly short.
  • Nothing432
    Not a Male's Voice
It was a little challenging putting this into context since the narrator of the story, Victor Frankenstein, is not a woman, but hard to complain since this is free I guess.

    Pretty good
This is extremly helpful, especialy for me because i have problems staying forcused while reading and fully comprehending the story. But since it wasnt complete it was a little hard. But for free thats good. If you get this a an assisgnment, dont go and just listen at lest kinda read this while you read. (so you dont miss out)

    Great
I am a student who read most of Frankenstein and it was really confusing but when you can hear it and read it at the same time it makes it click in your head.

    Incomplete
I love this audio book, but extremely upset and annoyed that it does not have all of the letters and the chapters aren't complete

    Awesome!
This podcast is great. It was annoying when some chapters cut off before the end but the reader's enthusiasm and skill more than made up for it.

Good choice for a free audiobook version
As an English teacher, it's a little sad to see students using this podcast INSTEAD of reading the book. Most of them will likely regret taking the easy way out and relying on a podcast or a movie to replace reading a book, but nothing will replace actually reading a book from cover to cover. That being said, this podcast is a decent one. I had my students listening to this in class while following along with an online text of the book and they were focused on the story the whole time. Several of my students remarked that, even though Mary Shelley is the author, it would have helped to hear a male voice narrating the book since the narrator is Victor Frankenstein. I would also prefer to have the ads in the show notes and not recorded onto the actual episode, but it's free so who am I to complain about free literature?!

    Awesome Podcast
Brilliant. This is just what I wanted, and it was free!!! It is very helpful to hear the story aloud while I am trying to grasp its deeper meaning. : )

    Good audiobook!
This is a good audiobook, but some of the chapters have sentences cut off the end. Also, the author is Mary Shelley, not Mary Shelly.

    great reading but incomplete
this was a great tale, read very well. However it's also very disappointing as many chapters would cut off mid sentence, leaving the listener not getting the whole story. So subscribe if you like but be forwarned.
