Just like the podcast name says, host Charley Mann brings you the content you WISH they had taught you in law school but didn’t. The variety of guests he brings on the show, the topics relevant to different types of practice areas, and his excellent ability to ask good questions and very naturally drive a conversation, it truly is Law School 2.0 with real advice, for free, and available to everyone. I highly recommend!

Charley brings the goods every time out. So many podcasts have hosts who seem to be there to just ask questions. Not this guy. He always has insights to share and brings out the best in his guests.

Charley’s podcast was always going to be worth a listen simply because he’s involved. (Some of my favorite episodes are the “coffeesodes”—especially the recent ones on building an investable law firm.) But he invites on some tremendous guests, from many different backgrounds, who help flesh out the simple and very, very hard work of building a business. I learn something every time. That makes this a consistent listen. Get after it, Charley!

Charley keeps it fresh and interesting with how he digs in and asks his guests to go deeper on certain subjects. He has an ability to pick something out of just one sentence or comment from his guest and asks great probing questions to get to the root. Very relatable, valuable, and most importantly, actionable content for any law firm owner. Whether your firm is 5 people or 50 people, you’ll benefit from listening!

It’s a fact that people who are able to look at what other industries are doing to succeed and adapt them to their profession can set themselves apart from their competition and create massive growth. This is what I appreciate about this podcast. It’s not just lawyers, but people from all industries and professions sharing both principles and practical ideas that sharpen our thinking and transform our businesses. Charley is a great interviewer and knows how to capture the nuances of the most valuable ideas.

I’ve been a Charley fan for almost as long as I’ve been an attorney, and here he is hitting it out of the park again. I am subscribed to too many podcasts. There is not enough time to listen to them all. Therefore I am always looking for a reason to unsubscribe. Unfortunately for my phone’s memory, every time I listen to Charley and Joe, I come away with at least one actionable item that can make me money, save me time or improve my life.

I think this podcast belongs in any attorney’s rotation. Charley and Joe bridge the gap between the legal industry and bigger trends in a way no one else is doing (and as entertaining co-hosts to boot!).

Charley and Joe are experts when it comes to explaining how other industries are approaching marketing and finding and nurturing raving clients and then translating that into a law (or any professional) practice. Strongly recommend this pod for lawyers serious about growing their practice.

Charley and Joe give more than just great practical advice - they let you in on the mindset and attitude it takes to run a successful law firm as a real business. It’s a well thought out, engaging podcast.

This is a great podcast to listen to that fills in some of the gaps on things we never learned in law school. Listened to the first episode and Joe brings a good financial balance to Charley’s business advice. Find some time in your schedule each week to check these episodes out.

Law school prepares you for a lot, but there’s plenty more to do with the actual practice of law that law school just doesn’t cover. This podcast discusses things that schools should teach young lawyers about in law school—and that you should be learning about to improve your practice.

Most of us attorneys, in my experience, know very little about how to run a business of law practice. we have bought into the myth that we will graduate from law school and either work for a firm or hang out our own shingle. We learn nothing about how to market so people actually know about us. This podcast is excellent for learning the “what I wasn’t taught in law school“ portion of practicing law. I highly recommend it for content and entertainment value, as it’s fun and informative!
