Dispatches From Myrtle Beach

Link Neal (Good Mythical Morning, Ear Biscuits) and his father Charles Neal (GMM runaway star) are practically identical, except they live thousands of miles apart from each other. Dispatches From Myrtle Beach brings the honest and often hilarious conversations between a tight-knit father and son team, as well as an inside look at the Neal family dynamic. Every week, listeners will get to have the intimate experience of hearing a call between Link and his dad, but it’s not just Myrtle Beach we’ll be hearing about- it’s everything under the (Southern) sun.

    Love the show!
Sometimes it’s a little cringe especially the role-play mostly lol but I love listening to their relationship and makes me want to be closer with my own father. Huge fan of Mythical since 2013. Keep up the amazing work!

    The two personas of Link
There has long been a discussion of someone who is a long term GMM fan being otherwise in camp-Rhett or camp-Link, and I think this episode is a great example of a defining moment. In the latest episode, the definition of what Link is trying to express frustration at borders on the line Anti-Intellectualism. I get it that DFMB is just a dad and a son chatting. I will also note that Link has a few personas, some which I love and some which are a huge turn-off. I love Charles (the dad), but this episode make me think that sometime Engineer Link wouldn’t recognize the Influencer Link that he sometimes becomes.

    NMB LOCAL
Been following link from the weee ol’ days of YouTube back in 2006… I’ve come along way since then and so has the platform. Now just finding out his father lives in MB… guess I gotta catch up on the pod episodes… shout-out to the folks along the Grand Strand 🤙!!!

I’m in the process of getting my contractors license and it’s a real treat to listen to you guys while I am currently installing flooring and getting ready to get my own business off the ground. Thanks guys, and keep on shaggin.

    Great Dad-Grandad duo
I started to adore Link on GMM, like the dad I never had. This podcast makes me feel like I’ve finally met my dad’s dad and what it’s like to have weekly calls to catch up. They’re both funny, quirky, and wholehearted - my type of people. Thank you to Link and Charles & the mythical crew that helps to make this experience possible.

I love this podcast. It’s so much fun to watch Link and his dad Charles catch up and talk about the fun and interesting things going on in their lives. There are always some really funny moments in each episode. It’s also very sweet to hear them tackle viewer emails when someone is facing a challenging situation. The answers are always filled with love and kindness.

    Fun
Link and Charles have a ton of fun together on the full episodes. And the mini-Dispatches on the off weeks are a quick taste of Charles learning some new to him Gen Z slang or telling us about some life lessons and southern aphorisms.

    That Southern Twang
I laugh out loud when I listen to this podcast. Two great hosts! I can't get enough of that southern twang- Charles' voice and accent make me miss my grandmother who had the same southern charm and disposition. What a great show, Neal duo!
  • Gleek721
    10/10 would recommend.
I had no grandparents growing up. Grandparents day in elementary school was always so hard because You get to see your friends have that bond that you can’t have. I’ve been listening to DFMB since episode 1. And when I listen to Charles give his advice, I feel like he’s my grandpa… checking in with me, Helping me with life’s hard questions, and help pick out paint colors for your new home. Thank you Charles, for every single smile you’ve put on my face.

Loving on all the Neal family love.
Charles and Link are a great example of how mutual respect and unconditional love exist with your parents/kids regardless of how many things you do/do not have in common with each other. Every episode is an opportunity for us to learn more about Charles just as Link does and vice versa. What a heartwarming treat.

    Truthful Review
Charles, Link, and Logan helped me give birth to my triplets on the floor of a Piggly Wiggly. In y’all’s honor, I named the triplets Rather, Be, and Shaggin. Many thanks 🙏🙏🙏

    Southern boys
I could not wait to listen and it did not disappoint. Link guides his Dad through hosting a podcast by telling stories. Helps him keep the show moving with different segments. Charles obliterates the English language with his Southern accent slang. Listen carefully to this fast talkin’ fast paced half hour. I will be back each week.
  • Doomsdayreaper
    Great show
I love the show gives me a smile every time I listen. Really enjoy getting to hear Charles.

    Helpful lol
Hearing this episode helped me to grow in the way I will continue to communicate with my family. My mom is very devoted to Christianity. I grew up in the church but, since high school (now 24), have decided to be open-minded and identify as agnostic, but definitely decided that I'm not Christian. I'm very respectful of my moms current religion and genuinely do not want her to feel judged, but have had trouble with communicating with her about religion without 1. Her feeling judged OR 2. Me feeling guilty. Hearing y'all have that discussion really helped to me learn more ways I can have that conversation in a respectful but honest manner. I really appreciate that and everything mythical does. ❤️

A Lifelong Source of Joy and Inspiration
For the past 12 years, Rhett and Link have been an incredible source of solace and happiness in my life, and for the past year [happy anniversary!] Dispatches from Myrtle Beach. Over a third of my life has been enriched by the laughter, wisdom, and the positivity these shows radiate. In the toughest moments, they've been my beacon of light, reminding me that joy can be found even in the darkest times. The dynamic duo behind these shows has not just entertained, but also inspired me to become a better person. Their humor is infectious, their camaraderie heartwarming, and their messages resonate deeply. Their ability to tackle life's challenges with a smile is truly commendable, and it's no exaggeration to say that they've played a pivotal role in saving me on numerous occasions. As I've navigated the ups and downs of life, Rhett and Link have been my heroes. Their authenticity, kindness, and unwavering positivity make them role models worth looking up to. Their journey has shown me the power of friendship, the impact of a positive outlook, and the beauty of embracing one's uniqueness. With each episode, they've not only entertained but also fostered a sense of belonging. It's more than just a show; it's a community where laughter is shared, challenges are conquered, and lessons are learned. The way they've built connections with their audience is truly remarkable. So, to Rhett and Link, Charles, and the Mythical Crew behind everything Mythical, I offer my deepest gratitude. Thank you for being my daily dose of inspiration, my reminder that better days exist, and my constant source of joy. Your impact on my life is immeasurable, and I look forward to continuing this incredible journey with you all. Much love and a heartfelt thanks, Tony Morrow

    Thank you
I have PTSD from a car accident four years ago. This past school year I commuted an hour for school (NC State). This semester I only commute 30 minutes, but I frequently drive 4 hours to see my boyfriend. DFMB and Ear Biscuits have helped me get through early mornings and late night drives. Even just 30 minutes of jokes, sentimental moments, and southern slang help my drives go by a little bit faster. You guys distract me from my PTSD by making it feel like someone else is in the car with me. Forever grateful for y’all helping me get me through school and long distance.

    Makes Me Feel Like Home

    Thankful ♥️
I lost my mother on July 4, 2022 after a 5 year long battle with cancer, it was in her bone marrow. I had the greatest honor of being her daughter for 30 years. Throughout those 5 years, I really grew to know my mom as a person, not just as a mother to 4 children. The episodes spent asking each other personal questions touch my heart in a bittersweet way. The joy, laughter, and honesty the two of you share reminds me so much of the conversations we had. They also remind me of all the conversations we’ll never have, but I know that one day, her and I will have forever to talk. You two gentlemen have given me ideas as to what questions and conversations I’ll have waiting for her. Thank you for being a reminder that, near or far, a love between a parent and their child is something to be cherished. That those hard conversations are sometimes the most important ones.

Dispatches from Myrtle Beach. Your weekly linking with the Lincolns. Your quarter monthly news with the Neils. Get a taste of the sweetest and sometimes disturbing stories and jokes from both coasts with this father son duo soapbox. These hometown Carolina BBQties will make your week with their discussions of flabberghasting jokes, answers to life’s most burning questions, and maybe if you’re lucky, a tip from a painting color master.

    Always looking forward to it
First of all, this podcast has changed my life and warms my heart to hear a father son have a routine catch up. My father has Alzheimer’s and is unable to speak, so knowing Link and Charles get to have this talk every other week and share it with us is a beautiful feeling. Keep it up boys, I love ya! Quality Time
This podcast came out around the time my grandfather passed away. I didn't know how much I needed it at the time; but Charles really filled that void. You get laughs and heartfelt moments. This is a refreshing 30-40 mins every other week where you can live the Belch Life with Charles and Link!

    DFMB: Awesome duo
I love Link, but I absolutely adore Charles. He reminds me of my Grandfather and it’s real comforting to listen to him every week on the main episodes and the mini-dispatches. Thank you for giving us this time with y’all!

    A Shining Gem
Dispatches from Myrtle Beach is one of the things I look forward to the most in my week. It's refreshing to hear Charles and Link getting along and learning new things together whether it's the meanings behind dirty jokes or how to pronounce someone's name. I'm not currently on speaking terms with my own southern grandpa and l think Charles helps fill in that gap a little with all the stories, jokes and general wisdoms he has to offer.

DFMB: A Thoughtful, Hilarious and Life Changing Conversation
Dispatches From Myrtle Beach has to be one of the most comforting podcasts that are out there today. As a son, having talks with my dad is one of the most important things in my life. However, since his mild stroke, things changed. I didn’t talk to him as much, and it made me depressed. I didn’t know how to start conversations with him that weren’t about his health. Then, Link and Charles entered. Hearing their conversations changed my life. It helped me in three ways: Provide humor when I needed it, introduced great talking points to mention with my dad and how much it means to have a father/son relationship. Just hearing two bright souls connect and have an entertaining-yet-thoughtful 30+ minute conversation motivates me. If any one needs positivity in their lives, let the Neal’s in your life. They’ll change your life.

    Wholesome hilarity from down home
I love the relationship between Charles and Link. They are so adorable and compliment each other so well. Charles is such a proud dad and you can tell Link loves the attention he gets from his dad. This podcast always makes me cackle with laughter.

    A Breath of Fresh Air!
I have been a hospice social worker for over 10 years. I decided to go into this field after losing my own Daddy when I was just 21. My job requires me to drive from home to home and facility to faculty to meet with my patients and their families. This is the last months and days of their lives together and I consider it a great honor and privilege to be a part of their journey on this earth. As you can imagine, my job can be very difficult at times. As I am doing my daily driving, I love to listen to podcasts. I want to say that on some of my darkest days, listening to Charles and Link has become a bright spot in my day. It has helped me to restore some levity and lightness into a day that might have been heavy and dark. I look forward to each episode so that I can laugh and reminisce about my own Daddy. Thank you for your positivity and joy that you bring into my life! Keep it up and know that you are a bright spot for us Myrtle Beasts. Thank you for taking your time to spread joy, love, and relationship to others! Ps. Can you go back to every week? 😊❤️

Simple & Authentic! Love these guys
Great podcast between father and son! What more could you ask for? Link & his dad hit it out of the park with this. Charles I’d love to go fishing with you some day. Cheers!

    Dirty Jokes & Genuine Laughs
Since the elementary school, Link Neal’s name has been synonymous with Rhett McLaughlin. The duo became famous for cohosting the internet show Good Mythical Morning, or GMM for short. Over the last year, Link has been collaborating with someone he has known for even longer than his long-time friend, this time he is partnering with his father and pride of South Carolina - Charles Neal. The father and son pair share jokes, stories, and laughs in their new Podcast: Dispatches From Myrtle Beach. The show hilariously tackles topics ranging from wild wedding stories to the dreaded prostate exam. The Neals’ outlandish anecdotes will have you howling with laughter, while the genuine father-son connection will have you reaching for the phone to dial your own dad. Highly Recommend.

    THE BEST PODCAST
My dad and I sit and watch this podcast every (other) week together. It’s the perfect combination of light hearted and comedy. Truly a delight to listen to this father son duo banter back and forth. If you’re wondering if you’re missing out by not being a Myrtle Beast, THAT WOULD BE CORRECT!
