dashpatternsRefreshing! A movie podcast with hosts that like moviesThere’s a refreshing air about this podcast that I enjoy. The hosts really seem to love most movies and appreciate the nuances of imperfect ones that are harder to love. Bonus points: they also love Guy Maddin the way i love Guy Maddin.

formertwinkNobody Does It BetterPound (of flesh) for pound (of flesh), my favorite podcast. Honestly, Dru and Josh are the only two people I trust to talk about movies for an hour-plus each week. Their causal chat about repertoire screenings at the beginning of each episode make me jealous I'm no longer living in LA (something this lady never thought I'd say). Both bring a love for movies that's open and inviting, and should make anyone who listens, fall down a rabbit hole of phsyical media to discover something new. Form the good kind of parasocial relationship and listen to Bloodhaus.

JerDKDiscover new filmsI’ve watched so many great movies that would’ve completely flown under my radar thanks to this lovely hosts!
-
iluvmuffinSo much fun!I learn so much from Bloodhaus episodes. An avid slasher lover, the show has made me appreciate different genres in a new way and the beauty of a bloody art film. Highly recommend to anyone that loves art and occasional screaming!

Rockets are RedStellar conversation on new, classic, and cult flicksI listen every week. I love their breakdown of older movies that I didn't know about before. Even better are their casual conversations on the latest watches. I keep a notepad close!

Michael99CoffeyExcellent PodcastThere is a nice variety to the films covered and the discussions go into some fun places. There is a good mix of mainstream films and cult favorites and I have been using the episode list as a way to check out different types of horror films.

roamunit⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Most podcasts are, at their core, about having a good hang. BLOODHAUS is a great hang that fills a nice artsy queer genre-shaped hole in my listening options. The format is nice and tight, the backlog is deep, and the film choices are consistently great. Looking forward to the next episode!

bre🍼☁️👼🏽love love love!one of my favorite horror/genre podcasts out there! both hosts very knowledgeable about film and inspire me to seek out more movies <3

MrDysKiller recsI’ve seen so many bangers as a result of them being talked up on this podcast. If you live in the middle of a Venn diagram of the Criterion Collection and Shudder (don’t we all), this is the podcast for you.

AstroboyMNA Must Listen every week!I discovered Josh & Drusilla’s Bloodhaus just last fall and since then I’ve never missed an episode. This dynamic duo cover all of the arthouse horror films I most cherish (such as The Stepford Wives, Rosemary’s Baby, Let’s Scare Jessica To Death, Deep Red, etc, etc), but also introduce listeners to little-discussed items like A Field in England & Baby Blood. They’ve also inspired me to finally watch certain films that have been on my To Watch list for literally decades (two of which come immediately to mind are The Shout & The Plumber). Their respective insider statuses—Josh has written for television shows such as The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina while Drusilla is an artist who designs cover art for Blu-rays and DVD sets—lend their conversations a level of sophistication that can be hard to find on other horror film podcasts. But they never get pedantic or sniffy about any of it. If you like smart talk about horror films (and other tangential subjects), you’ll really want to stop on by Bloodhaus. Highest recommendation!

NbbabydomRequired listeningthe most delightful weekly drop - so beyond refreshing to hear people who actually love both film talk about it. I’ve discovered most of my favorite movies through this pod

byrninloveThis podcast saved my lifeBeen listening since day one. I would trust Josh and Drusilla with my life. This podcast has gotten me through traffic jams, airplane rides, and dentist visits. There are a lot of horror movie podcasts, and a lot of them are fun, but this one knows a thing or two about taste. And trash. These hosts aren’t afraid to be snooty, but they’re not going to stick up their noses at schlock. I’m serious, just watch the movies they cover, listen to the episodes. It’s well worth it.

srb4887Elevated Podcasting ;)Horror gets me in the door, but quality hosts keep me coming back for more! Maybe not the most important thing, but the hosts are both gorgeous and I love their work even outside of the pod. They cover a wide range of films under the umbrella of arthouse horror. Every episode I’m excited to hear them talk about something I love or I’m excited to learn about a new treasure to add to my watchlist. I enjoy their curation and their insights.

Bad Mx M.Enter The BloodhausDrusilla and Josh know film. This isn’t amateur podcast fan dribble about the latest slasher flick. Josh and Drusilla always come with a deep understanding and reverence for the films that they talk about. Always interesting and fun.

LukasMcPukasFavorite podcastBest horror podcast imo, not in the film-bro man-o-sphere and lots o great insights :))

Genny RadostiMy Favorite Horror PodcastI honestly can’t believe I haven’t left a review yet, because I’ve been listening since episode one and Blood Haus is still my favorite horror podcast years later?? The show expertly mixes some more mainstream titles with “on the Internet Archive or an imported disc only” deep cuts, and there’s enough of a variety that I’m kept on my toes and motivated to watch some new-to-me titles. It is comforting to listen to smart, insightful, creative people with similar frames of reference who like the same weird stuff I like when the world is burning. (Also, I miss LA always and love all the references to my old haunts.) I didn’t know of Josh or Drusilla before listening, but I am so grateful they started this pod. The minute I drop off my kid at Kindergarten on Monday, Blood Haus goes on my car radio and it is the best start to my week.

siddalFantastic frightsI am new to this podcast, so there’s lots to catch up on. But I’m absolutely loving it so far. Josh and Drusilla are whip smart; they really know their stuff. They are also very funny, never pretentious, and just all around great hosts. I’m having a lot of fun listening to the episodes featuring movies I saw and loved as a teen and young adult (hey, you haven’t lived until you watch The Devils for the first time as a 1980s high school Catholic girl, all by yourself!) And I’m looking forward to diving in and learning about films that are new to me. Love it!
-
HesSoUnusualYou’re going to discover so many films.I started binging this pod and actually had to slow down. With the amount of great films they share, it’s difficult to keep up in between episodes. Every conversation is compelling and you’ll want to add (most) of these films to your personal watchlist. Josh and Dru are engaging, charming, knowledgeable, and just downright pleasant. If you’re looking for new horror, or new old horror, this is the pod for you!

Adam LounsberyWonderful horror podcastJosh and Drusilla are always great to listen to. Knowledgeable, opinionated, and engaging. And they pick amazing movies to discuss. Love this podcast!

NJinLALike it, butLove the subject matter, enjoy both hosts, but there are just so many basic factual errors that slide by that it makes it difficult to take at all seriously. I may have to quit.

Kimkim MajorsAnother podcast to give a listen and followExcellent podcast. Not too short, excellent voices, clear, very intelligent discussion on some of the best horror films.
-
GawsiperBest pod ever!Best podcast ever. No need for more words. If you love horror and laughs. This is it
-
abroussePlease consider spoilers!Joshua and Dru are delightful hosts and I’m so glad to be able to tap into conversations about well-made horror films. I usually am very into preserving spoilers—especially in a genre that relies so much on the elements of surprise and subversion—but because the hosts’ talents lie in breaking down the elements of a scene, their feeling as though they can’t actually discuss pivotal moments in the movie for fear of spoiling it for the audience makes the podcast feel a little shackled. I hope they’ll consider reversing the spoiler policy—or maybe even offering a break at the end where listeners who haven’t seen the movie can choose to turn the pod off—so we can really get into it!
-
GlubShitoGreat podI love Dru and Josh as entertainers and critics. The podcast doubles as a great watchlist, some movies on here I would never see otherwise
-
MisssharaiHere For ThisThis show makes me feel like I’m at brunch with friends while also learning about all of these obscure movies (most of which I have never heard of). I appreciate that it focuses on one of the areas of film that usually feels very gatekeepy and makes it cool and accessible.
-
NickzolExcellentLove it. The hosts are true horror fans with a vast knowledge of horror history. They are intelligent and eloquent and complement each other nicely. They offer fresh insight and perspective to each featured movie as opposed to the usual tedious reading of IMDb trivia. Looking forward to to exploring this newfound listen!

Patti Dyann PhillipsChemistryJosh and Dru have amazing chemistry! (I’m not gross for watching Dr Pimple Popper while having coffee. Just saying.) 🖤, Dru’s Mom
