    This podcast is properly entertaining!
Steve and Anthony are great! They are very funny and have a great discussion on the selected films. I would have to say the podcast is properly Howard plus twelve.

Toss the keys to Teen Wolf to Steve
I’d like to hear Steve talk Teen Wolf every episode.

Podcast. Exciting and new. Come aboard. We’re expecting you.
Love this show. Basically, two guys who, sometimes dubiously, make each other watch movies based on the “theme” of the season and then casually shoot the breeze about it. Anthony and Steve make a great double act and their comedy flows very naturally. They will even surprise you with some quality insight but it’s mostly just hilarious and unique takes as the conversation spirals off into vintage pop culture and other relatable reminiscent nonsense. So now you know what to expect. And knowing is half the battle.

Something I didn’t know I needed in my life.
Like many, I found my way here through other pods Anthony has been a part of. I gave this a go starting with a handful of movies I had already seen, but wanted more so I started cranking through the rest of them. Love the way Steve gets Anthony to laugh. Sure, Anthony laughs on other shows, but Steve gets him going and it’s a delight. I hope we can get more content from these two.

    Don’t be like me
I though I wrote a review a long time ago! Make sure to do this small favor for a great quality podcast. Thanks for all the laughs and insights!

    Perfect pop culture nonsense!
These guys crack me up! Perfect listening on a Monday to get me laughing and in a good mood for the week. It’s been fun to learn about the other podcasts that they are part of. Can’t wait for more!

Great show- whether you’ve seen the movies or not
I discovered this show through other shows that the hosts either work on or have been on as a guest. At first, I was scrolling through to listen to reviews about the movies I have seen, but now I find myself listening to all the episodes. You don’t have to to have seen the movies to enjoy the hosts’ take. Great show- keep it coming!

Why can’t life be like the movies?
Makes me nostalgic for the good old days in Philly when a spontaneous a capella concert would break out around a fire barrel. USA! USA!

Love the friendship between these two.
Discovered Anthony and Steve as a duo through the Baldmove network and Perfect Stranger Things podcast. I had listening to Cocoons of Horror on my podcast “to do list” for too long. I just took a deep dive and couldn’t be more tickled with the delightful combination of thoughtful conversation and humor between two friends who sincerely enjoy their time together. I am 100% here for an equally satirically and sincere comparison of the werewolf lore of “Teen Wolf”, “Monster Squad” and “An American Werewolf in London”. In just a few words, Cocoons of Horror has nards!”

    Totally enjoyable
I’m so glad I found Dr. Anthony through baldmove because this podcast is hilarious!! You guys are so witty and I like your take on the different movies. It makes me want to watch or rewatch all of them so I can understand all the references. I look forward to laughing at your next movie review.
  • ChadGilless
    Almost too good!
Great podcast. Their takes on different movies and scenes are hilarious… so much so that you’ll want to binge old episodes … but their back catalog is not huge, so you run out and then are stuck without Cocoon episodes to listen to. That’s a pretty nice problem!

    Who’s laughing now?
I am!! Please return and do the Evil Dead series.

    Cocoons of Enjoyability
The Larry and Balkey of podcasting. These guys just keep on getting better and better the more you listen to them.

    Ron Howard
I give this podcast a Ron Howard

Better than a Ron Howard joint
If you love spooky films, the witty banter of lifelong chums, and the abiding specter of Wilford Brimley, look no further. Prepare to be lovingly swaddled in a cocoon of chills, thrills, and, most importantly, a laugh-to-death ratio that’s off the charts. Listen today - it’s the right thing to do.

    Ren & Stimpy
Anthony and steve are the Ren & Stimpy of podcasting. Please don’t ask me to explain, you either get it or you don’t. Also, the intro is great

What a treat. They have good chemistry. Would like it if they reviewed the original animated Pokémon film as well as the CG remake of Mewtwo Strikes back. Or just more culturally significant films because it’s mostly just a riffing show anyway. They don’t seem to have enough energy to consistently see new movies. Will change this to One Star if Perfect Stranger Things doesn’t come back. I was born in 88.

    All the heart emojis
These two seem like they still leave voicemails. And I’m exactly here for it! Thank u for making this show!

    Nonstop Laughs
The bizarre pairing of an academic and a comedian makes for a podcast that is truly hilarious. I’ve been listening to Anthony and Steve since they started doing Game of Thrones together and I can’t get enough of it. They have such a natural rapport, and I look forward to their podcasts every week. It is definitely worth the listen if you are into pop culture and horror, and even if you aren’t you may still enjoy the fantastic back and forth that makes the podcast so much fun.

    Not just for horror fans!
Anthony & Steve have fun, interesting conversations about so much more than the films. This podcast feels like you are chatting with old friends. They provide a whole new perspective on movies that you know and love (or hate).
  • Amymd431
More fun than actually watching the movie
I love reminiscing about pop culture from childhood, but frankly don’t have the patience to re-watch most of these movies as an adult. I enjoy the insight and banter between Anthony and Steve and feel like they dutifully cover the important and fun aspects of a movie. Definitely worth your time if you’re a (lazy) film geek.

    Diane Wiest
That bit at the end about Diane Wiest was gold! Thank you! If you are in your 30s-50s and enjoy 80s-90s references and movies this is podcast is for you. Anthony and Steve are doing a great job!
  • NicktheStick1014
    These guys are great!
Steve and Anthony go way back and it shows in every podcast they do. I would listen to them discuss just about anything. It’s light and fun and I look forward to everything you guys put out. Keep it up guys, love the show!

Laugh out loud….from time to time….
For adults of a certain age this is your podcast! Anthony and Steve do a fantastic job blending 80’s and 90’s references with humor and smarts to movies I did not even know needed reviewing. I came over from the Electric Boogaloo podcast and I was not disappointed. You guys make me want to crack open a beer and sit down on the couch with you, hang out, and critic your next, what if Ron Howard joint. Keep it up guys!
  • hbaberne
    Can’t spell cocoons without autocorrect
This show is so much fun!! As a 90s child, and a nerd, I love hearing Anthony and Steve discuss the significance of these films in our current pop culture (I’m following along with Perfect Stranger Things). I’m learning quite a bit from them but I’m also laughing, a lot. Steve and Anthony are hilarious- I listen to podcasts at work and I’m definitely the weird coworker chuckling to myself throughout the day. Love all of the shows you guys are doing, thank you for creating all this thoughtful and hilarious content!! Maybe one day I’ll learn how to spell cocoons.

    Old Movies & Comic Relief
These guys are a pleasure to listen to and I find myself laughing alone in the car any time I listen. They are the perfect balance of smart and hilarious. Check out their other podcasts as well if you are a GOT or Stranger Things fan!
  • St. Louis Al
    Best chemistry in podcasting
Steve and Anthony are best buds, they grew up together and that shows in the cadence and humor in the podcast. I will be looking forward to this podcast every week. If this podcast was a movie it would be as good if not better than the best Ron Howard movie.
  • Mr. Sharp1
    Great show
I started listening to Anthony and Steve on Anthony’s GOT book/show podcast. They make a great team and have very different perspectives on some things. Steve is hilarious (I guess he should be, he’s a comedian) and Anthony has a vast amount of knowledge, but is always interested in hearing someone else’s take. If you like horror movies, or movies in general, this is a podcast you should give a try. They have fun with it. It will put a smile on your face, and maybe take you down a couple rabbit holes on the internet.
  • pjyelton
    Love Anthony & Steve
Anthony and Steve’s obvious friendship and long history of riffing off each other tinges their movie reviews with a delightful and warm-hearted glow. Collectively for each episode, they bring comedic and academic perspectives that forage on character arcs, directorial choices, cultural nuances and the wonderful ridiculousness of Bad Hat Harry! If you enjoy Cocoons of Horror, I recommend you find A&S at Perfect Stranger Things and Baldmove’s Electric Bookaloo for Game of Thrones.
  • SweeLoTmac
An academic and and comedian?! Who knew?
Love Anthony and Steve! They have wonderful chemistry! I laughed out loud a few times on the Jaws pod! It’s worth the listen!
  • ManchesterMax
Can only pick one tv/movie podcast to listen to? pick Anthony and Steve.
Highly recommend everything these guys do. From thoughtful Game of Thrones walkthroughs to the start of a new hilarious review of Stranger Things, Anthony and Steve effortlessly talk 80s nostalgia, funny and relatable adult situations, and interesting takes on pop culture. These guys are great!
  • samolly
    Hilarious
These two play off each other well. They say there’s only one comedian but…..
