VP no longer alt-middle I tried but I can't anymore

What happened to this show??? It was one of a kind, and absolutely TERRIFIC. I have not been able to find anything quite like it. I understand if you have decided to call it quits on this podcast, but PLEASE COMMUNICATE this to your loyal fans and don’t leave us hanging on and wondering. Is this podcast officially cancelled? And if so, can you make recommendations of anything similar? Thank you!

I love this podcast. I learn so much and I laugh. The hosts are smart and gutsy. I appreciate their honesty and courage and their willingness to share opinions that don't adhere to the "party line." And I enjoy the fact that they swear.

Thanks to both of you for keeping me sane during COVID (as a SoCal school nurse), and for continuing to deliver with reasoned and thoughtful takes on what’s in the news medicine and science-wise. You’ve given me something to aspire to - you’re thoughtful and evidence-based without being dismissive and elitist. Looking forward to hearing more! (Especially with RFK in the news).

This show is not only hilarious and informative, but it makes me feel like I’m not losing my mind. As a progressive, critical thinker living on the East coast, I find myself at odds with all the lefties around me…thank you VPZD for bringing the actual science and making sense! 👏👏👏

These two kept me grounded and sane during the pandemic and I still value the content coming from Sensible Medicine. I’m a longtime VPZD fan but am shaking my head at the last few episodes. The last one was direct from their monthly issue of “Convenient Theories for You”

I love that these two are willing to discuss things a lot of people won’t touch. They seem like free thinkers and are obviously very intelligent. And they are so funny!

I used to LOVE this show and your critical appraisal of difficult situations. Now, you’re radicalized and biased. You both act like you’re not; it’s incredibly patronizing. I used to get so excited to listen to this show BECAUSE it would challenge my perspective and often times, change my opinion. Now its 1.5-2 hours of grown men airing their grievances and gas lighting anyone who disagrees with them. The past 2 episodes have been absolutely wild. It was like listening to the radicalization of VP.

No one wants your political views, which are uninformed and juvenile. Stick to what you know, please.

The latest episode following the election was unhinged, and was not their typical format, what I’ve always enjoyed listened to. They were hopped up, giggling and offensive. I always appreciated their alt middle rhetoric, but that was not this episode, even soliciting bad medical advice. I’m going to take a break from this podcast, after being a devout listener for years.

Got turned onto VPZD during Covid, and I am over the moon that they are back at it! Love their approach to de-tribalizing medicine and adopting some common sense! VPs in nuanced, well researched takes on various subjects are great and ZD does a great job as the sort of unofficial host of the podcast. This is one of my must listens!!!

I’m a truck driver. I’m not on social media. I think for myself, therefore I’m fat (because I’m easy prey for fast food commercials). I really enjoy the show and I really get the two hosts. I even get most of the humor. Except when they dig in with ultra doctor nerd insider humor (which I still love). I love Dr. Z, but don’t fully connect with Dr. Prasad, because I too am ten years older than him, and really got uncomfortable when he couldn’t make the Family Ties reference. I really like their chemistry. I especially like the Dr. with the blind spots book. Going to read this with my Dr. Wife. You need more of him in the future. Keep bangin guys. -Zak

Love these 2 doctors. They are so funny and entertaining, great back and forth. And they are honest and objective in their critiques on all topics.

Disagree with if you want. But you have to respect their intelligence and wit.

So I’m a provider in a non-allopathic profession, these Docs are very likely to completely dismiss what I do and who I help. Regardless, I very much look forward to listening to this podcast. Though some of my personal beliefs differ to some degree from theirs, it is SO REFRESHING to hear such credible Docs speaking truthfully about a lot of the crazy that's out there, especially with all things Covid. I really enjoy tuning in to what they have to share and especially love it when VP goes on tangents. 😂 Thanks Docs!

Listening to you guys is like going to dinner with my favorite physician colleagues. We talk shop, share experiences, our hatred of the EHR, etc. Very cathartic. And it’s on this podcast! Love listening to these guys talk about common sense approaches to healthcare and medicine. During the pandemic they were a breath of fresh air and calmed some anxieties I had about how to deal with Covid. These two should be running for POTUS/VPOTUS!

This is far and away the best medical podcast. Rational, science based, honest discussions about a range of topics. But you've mentioned and talked about pharmacists and pharmacy topics but have never had an actual pharmacist on the show to give that perspective. As a pharmacist myself with over 13 years at CVS, I can say you are often right about many things, but very wrong about others. Pharmacists are the most underrepresented group of healthcare professionals and having your platform to share insight would be amazing.

So grateful for your return! Your discussion about grief and the experience of many with doctors in the hospital prolonging suffering was exactly what we went through with my father. I live with the awful guilt that I allowed my dad to be tortured because I didn’t understand that he was not going to get better no matter what they did. Thank you for talking about these realities so hopefully fewer families have to go through this.

So happy VPZD is back ! Always fun and informative to listen to.

This is my favorite medical podcast, and my go to source for synopsis of the most up to date research. Two people far smarter than I read research so I don’t have to and then explain it to me with their alt-middle nuanced opinions all from the comfort of my car. What's not to like?!? My only complaint, not great for running, needs more swearing for that. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing your intelligence and gifts of communication with us!
