    FANTASTC
"The Chess Angle" is required listening for me. As specified in the intro it is a chess podcast focusing on busy improvers with limited study time. The host is knowledgeable as well as enthusiastic. He has some very interesing guests and also goes "solo" with tips for openings, tournaments and various other topics. His advice resonates with me - for example, stick to a "set" repertoire, for white & black - play a lot - analyze your games - use the chess.com lessons. He also recommends books and he typically does not fully endores media unless he read or used it. One of the best chess podcasts for improvers areound.

    Great Podcast
It’s great to get the perspective from an amateur who understands the grind we go through as adult improvers.

    Great chess support
While not all the info in this show is appropriate for my skill level - or lack of skill level - it has nonetheless been incredibly helpful for me to feel immersed in the language and culture of chess. I’ve felt very supported in my rocky road to improvement and I will be on the lookout for new episodes. Thanks for all the hard work!

    Great podcast quick question
This is a great podcast with good content. My question is I know the host does not like using chess.com ratings on OTB tournaments I am looking to be going to my first tournament if they are looking for my skill rating what should I tell him or her?

Great for club players and improvers!
This podcast has quickly climbed the ranks for me and has become one of my favorite and must-listen shows that I listen to. I am a fairly new club player, and I’ve learned a ton from Neal, both in the interview-form shows as well as the solo shows where Neal picks a few topics and expounds on them. If you love chess, this pod is definitely for you.

    Very good
After listening to many episodes, I need to say that my earlier review was not well founded. This is a very good podcast.

    Outstanding adult improvement podcast!!!
I last played chess on my high school team and have recently returned after nearly a 40 year hiatus. Upon my return I was overwhelmed by the abundance of material that is “out there” and was really clueless on how to go about retooling my game. That is where this podcast comes in. You will get practical, concise advise and tips from an experienced tournament director who clearly has a passion for chess. He has an engaging manner and I find his podcasts to be accessible and useful. I will usually listen to each episode a few times, and sometimes take notes on key points that I want to integrate into my training/game prep. Just for reference, I am about 1400 rapid on chess.com.

Hope you win your next game
For a high school teacher looking to improve their game (the guy typing this), The Chess Angle is the perfect companion to what little time I have to study. I listen on my way to school and it gets me into the mindset of the board, qualms the nerves for certain psychological oddities like facing higher rated opponents, and has even helped me garner the jargon of chess that I otherwise don’t hear from just playing quiet tournaments or online. I’m down in St. Pete, FL, but one of these days I’m going to make a trip up to Long Island to play Neil!!!!
