TarbysmomGreat material but ....... she ruins it with her unnatural speaking voice. She doesn't sound the way someone would sound in normal conversation. She gets to the end of a sentence and accents the last couple of syllables in an unnatural fashion as if she were a news/weathercaster or something – whatever it is, it's absolutely unlistenable. I suggested to her to listen to Mr. Casefile or Benjamin but she maintains "this is just my voice" and would take no constructive criticism. Too much background noise and the taped narration by other speakers like in the courtroom or from the police or whatever are often very hard to hear. I just can't get my mind around the fact that she would not consider trying to improve her podcast and cops out by saying "it's just my voice." What a waste of great material.

LazySavrLove it! New episodes please!Nina instead’s podcast “Already Gone” was my intro into the world of true crime podcasts back in 2015, and I like her straight facts and signature voice. I love this podcast because I am hearing new cases (to me) that haven’t been rehashed a thousand times in the true crime stratosphere. I’ve tried to listen to the sister podcast UK version, but I like Nina’s style and cases better. I hope new podcasts come out, but haven’t seen anything new in my feed since 2023. Keep at it Nina!

kaharrimanCan we get an ETA on when this is coming back..?Please
-
Jennyjenn959Hope to hear moreIt took a little to adjust to the style, I think largely because it’s so different from other true crime podcasts- but, once I adjusted I found myself enjoying it. I really like that there are stories shared on here that I haven’t heard before.
-
1prooneyMuch resesrchedBut just can’t get used to narrator’s voice… please bring back Ben!
-
leanneh333Are you coming back?I hope so! I was really enjoying listening to this one.
-
Sr JulianOne of the BestI’ve heard of smear campaigns but after reading these reviews I’m still shocked! I love it’s sister podcast (oh please don’t smear it too!) and I was throughly accustomed to the “voice” and straight facts. There’s no fluff here; just facts. And I’ve never heard a recording played on this podcast, so go figure since I’m an avid fan and listened to every episode. Smear campaign? Absolutely!

patsycrimesterAudio clipsI don't mind Nina's style of storytelling. I find the cases interesting, but what I cannot tolerate are the constant audio clips where it is so hard to understand what is being said. This springs my rating down. If it is necessary to the story, please just read it rather than play audio clips of such poor sound quality.

Robert Berdella JrExceptionalThank you for sharing your amazing talent as a storyteller with us. All of your stories are factual and told without bias. You are truly an advocate for the victims so eloquently described in your stories.
-
brainzmatterUgh!A great podcast utterly ruined. A pleasant enough voice, but rather robotic and for heaven’s sake, can she pause AFTER A PERIOD. It’s all one run-on sentence. Please, please get Benjamin back. Update: I tried again seeing mixed reviews. I thought maybe I judged too quickly. Well, I guess that either you love the sound of Benjamin and hate the sound of Nina, OR well…if you love the sound of Nina you must be deaf. Honestly, how can anyone listen to her? I stayed away for ages hoping they’d get someone else but NinaBot is still here. She HAS improved but there’s still something sing-songy about her reading the script—and all the wrong enPHAsis on the wrong syLAHble.

uggggghhtimesabikkionThese reviews are really funny.Nina is not an AI or BOT. You guys are funny.
-
dshanesqWell DeservedI think you meant to say Skyler DeLeon attempted to sever HIS penis. It’s amazing how many “adults” play make believe with these mental cases.
-
cherrio65Good Cases & Research BUT….While this podcast is well researched, the writing and delivery by the host is very hard to listen to. I’m not quite sure if it’s the host, or the overuse of the thesaurus by the writer, but it just doesn’t sound natural.
-
Cremefraiche11Great pod - but the name kills meCame to this pod because of how much I loved They Walk Among Us. Imagine my excitement when they said they were going create an American version - and then my disappointment when it wasn’t going to be called “They Walk Among U.S.” Other than my beef with the show title, this is an excellent podcast.

Jersey Girl in VermontLiking this podcastLove Nina’s style of podcasting. Wish she could take over some other podcasts as well. No screaming , laughing and other nonsense here. Always a first class storyteller!
-
eg portlandGood writing but lousy reader/hostI am familiar with some of these cases but there are details that answer questions other podcasts left unanswered. Had to change my 5 star review to 3 because of the strange and annoying reading style that Nina has.Her cadence and frequent mispronunciation takes this down to amateur level.I like the early episodes (although they did cases that have already been done) and the UK version where Ben is narrating.Listen to that instead. There are cases you won’t hear anywhere else. As far as all the problems with pronunciation I have noticed that there are many true crime podcasters who mess up and misuse fairly common words. It is embarrassing and amateur.
-
RenaJCBToo many audio clipsI love the narrator but there are far too many audio clips. I listen but then end up fast forwarding through them. The last episode I just stopped listening ti, it seemed the last 10 minutes was just recorded audio of the prosecutor.
-
MinimalAnimal69No.I would rather read a book or articles. She has a nice voice though we like a personality and I can understand how some would think it AI.
-
Toog 1970It was a great podcastThis podcast was initially interesting but has now fallen to the level of those that deliver cases for novice true crime enthusiasts. Unfortunately, I have already heard most of these cases over and over again.
-
DibHorrible HostI can’t… I just can no longer listen to host Nina mispronounce words, speak with a forced cadence that resembles a foghorn. The stories are ok, but who could enjoy them when told by this host?
-
until.spiritbeautiful podcastlove this podcast and voice is so soothing. ps, i don’t think any of you have ever heard an AI voice. Nina is both wonderful and real.
-
Thadd1978Top Notch NarrationNina Innsted is one of the best in the business. Her approach is gracious and professional, which is what these gruesome stories deserve. In a world with talking heads screaming at us from all sides, it can be easy to forget that a storyteller isn't obligated to be in our faces and beat us over the head with their narration. Nina's approach of bringing the listener in close gives every appearance of a personal conversation and adds gravitas to the message. Nina allows the listener to make their own decisions and take away what they want.
-
VerianceQuality!Well written, and beautifully produced.
-
CgrrsdyhhhHard to listen to.Clearly AI. Maybe I’m wrong, but the host describes mundane things like a geographic location in the same half cheery, half monotone voice as she describes a grisly crime. Very impersonal. Too hard to listen too.
-
Niban #2djBot TalkStunningly annoying. Pay a real person, peeps.
-
KingDiamondRulesUnoriginalPeople are murdered every single day, year after year after year. So how is it that you can only present cases that have already been covered DOZENS of times by other podcasts?
-
JamieLylaBrookeNinnnna ❤️❤️I love Nina!! She’s great on this podcast and Already Gone. Highly recommend!
-
NamynotThe edgeWhat do John Norma and Mary have to do with Huntington Hartford?
-
TildaJean? It’s hard to understand why so many valid complaints are ignored. Jaeger pronounced “Jagger”? Hilariously annoying. I quit.
-
JefisboredGreat Research and Story TellingI’m nearly convinced that Nina is AI, but I still enjoy her voice. The research and storytelling is very good, too. The thing that constantly bugs me is the terrible grammar mistakes. They’re not persistent. But they seem to come in 3’s. It’s weird.
-
akaraszAlmost greatThe stories are good, but it’s very distracting that the host keeps mispronouncing words.
-
crimeshowlibrarianLiked it until the new host startedGreat stories, but the way the new host phrases sentences like they’re questions is driving me insane. “His second oldest daughter? Whose name was Elizabeth?” It’s Broadcasting 101: don’t say it like it’s a question unless it is. Also: please take the time to check pronunciation—Chagrin is cha-GRIN, not CHA-grin. It’s hard to take a podcast seriously when this happens over and over.
-
DangolmusicmanGreat stories, but miss the old hostI enjoy this podcast and look forward to the new stories each week. I do miss the old host though. The new host’s voice is so monotone that it is difficult to follow and listen to.
-
SeusaCorpDown with NinaJesus Christ can you be any more mono tone and god awful!!! I can’t take it and definitely won’t be listening to anymore episodes until she’s gone. Deleted everyone I’ve heard with her talking.
-
MSfromKYWalk Among UsInteresting stories. Nice voice, but she talks too fast.
-
MoonflowerklPropsI want to like this, I really do, but there are too many words crammed into each episode. On They Walk Among Us, Benjamin speaks clearly and fairly slowly. Nina, with her affected delivery, has to talk as fast as she can, making it hard to understand what’s going on. Wasn’t the Jillian/Court Junkie’s voice I heard in episode one? No props for her? And….. how can I get this without those ads!
-
ahahahdkabducLarynx, anyone? It’s (lair-inks) not (lar-nicks). It’s haunted me for a week now, I just had to say something. I love Nina on her own show, but I miss the old narrator here. It’s just not the same.
-
2mnypetzI used to enjoy itI just can’t listen to Nina anymore. The stories are interesting and well written, but that robotic script reading is too annoying.
-
Ar-eDisappointedLoved this podcast, so I tried to love it after the new host came on board. The content is still interesting but the delivery gives me the same cringe as nails on a chalkboard.
-
ApplePiscisCold-bloodedAs I listen to this episode I’m continuing to get more and more flabbergasted. I cannot believe the irresponsible decision making that led to featuring a full length interview with a cult leader who pushes dangerous and absurd ideas. What is wrong with you? I’ve been a fan but I’m going to have to announce my departure. Yuck. Do better.
-
ArtsyKidWhy involve conspiracy theorists…?Nina is a lovely host. This show usually has a straight forward style that I enjoy. The most recent episode was terrible though— they center a conspiracy theorist and her thoughts about the case. Why platform a woman who thinks that Sandy Hook wasn’t real? That’s unconscionable. It wasn’t necessary for the story and was in awful taste.
-
chldfromdamildI miss the Brit.Something about this lady narrator that makes this much less enjoyable… This has gone so downhill. “The Edge” how uninteresting can you get…
-
LorwynnContent is great, but the narrator reads like a robotThe content is interesting, but the narrator (Nina) reads from a script with the cadence of a robot. Don’t get me wrong…it’s not the sound of her voice or how mellow she sounds when she reads. It’s the tempo with which she reads. I wish she would just speak like a human being so I can enjoy listening to the podcast. It’s as though her speech has no inflection.
-
msshamasAn excellent podcast nowI couldn’t make it through one episode before Nina became the host. Thankfully Nina came on board and turned it around.
-
RebeccajpotterBring Benjamin back!Sorry, but Nina, take a breath. It’s like one long sentence. I’m out, too hard to listen to.
-
MissisaalasAdded to my list bc of NinaI had tried this podcast before but couldn’t get through it. Came back once I saw Nina is the narrator. Real ones know Nina has one of the most well narrated, well researched shows so im happy that she brings this to this show.
-
Suppercatscratch747Nina Is Not the Right HostSorry but I can’t listen to this. Doesn’t have to be Benjamin but unfortunately Nina doesn’t have the same caliber of delivery. The collaboration seems off and unsuccessful to this avid, They Walk Among Us fan. Sorry
-
Madtown8503Great story, not so great narrationI tried with Nina on Already Gone because she seemed invested in the material initially but had to stop listening to that years ago because of the narration style. I was excited about They Walk Among America and one day this familiar voice comes on, I was hoping it was a fluke or a limited run with Nina but it seems permanent. Sorry, but I’m out.
-
MeMyselfAndI03New host is Kramer doing MoviefoneIs Benjamin gone forever? Ughhhh and I liked this podcast, but gotta go. Can’t deal with Nina. Who talks like that? A computer? I can’t focus on what is being said. I just imagine Kramer from Seinfeld doing Moviefone. “Why don’t you tell me the movie you want?”
-
SR-0884-4406Nina Innsted is excellent when not masturfulHer narration and knowledge of the cases she shared are wonderful. She reminds me of Phoebe Judge, without the warmth her various shows allow. I do love Already Gone and her spinoff series, but she really belongs here in this role.
