Many adults are at least familiar with some form of “mindfulness” from the secular realm or spiritual formation from the Christian realm. John’s books and this podcast, I believe, are helping many move from “I should work on spiritual formation” to, “Who COULD I become?”

Wonderfully laid out podcast. Honest in a time when Christianity is on the outs. I found this Podcast on the Day after Thanksgiving 2022. It gives me hope when I thought all was lost in this time! Please keep up the good workin whatever endeavor you are on! This podcast is a breath of fresh air!

Both the book and this podcast are worth your time. If you are wanting to be challenged and encouraged, this podcast is for you. It reveals the deep and profound nature of Jesus’ calling.

Not only is John Mark incredibly smart and well read, he is an insanely talented communicator. I believe these conversations show how he has learned as much as he has - he is very committed to listening and learning from anyone he is speaking to.

I loved this podcast and it is a perfect blend of the kind of intelligent and wise conversations the church is missing in this contested culture. I particularly loved the conversations with Tyler and with David, they spoke deeply to my heart. Your work and contributions to the world has deeply shaped the last two years of my life in particularly and it is a joy that I get to start each year with a book and project from you. John Mark Comer remains an emissary of the tradition of Saint Augustine laying a way to bridge the gap between the secular agnostic yearning for meaning and the Chrisitan yearning for God’s guidance in today’s culturally overbearing world. Wonderful guests delicately balance sociological, psychological, and theological viewpoints that never come across too heady or academic. Fans of “This Cultural Moment” and “End the Hustle” have found the last triangle point of a near-perfect Christian podcast trifecta.

Lol. Just found that I wrote this a couple months ago but didn’t hit send. Oops! I’m so thankful John Mark Commer has another podcast! I literally just got his new book from the library yesterday AND heard his podcast conversation with Gabe and Rebekah Lyons (it felt like two of my online worlds collided because I’ve been listening to the Lyons and Commer for over a year now). John Mark never fails to present material with intellectual depth and cultural breadth and foundational personal humility…with an steadfast love for God and His Church. Crazy thankful!

I can’t begin to express my gratitude for the faithful discipleship and obedience to the way of Jesus that John Mark Comer so consistently walks in. It’s changing the world by speaking to our times’ largest enemies and battling them with the gentle heart of unhurried grace, resilient love, and steadfast truth in all of our culture’s convoluted circumstances. Read his books. Listen to his sermons. Pray for him. He is a pioneer and a powerful leader in the body of Christ in our times, and I feel so privileged to get to follow his teaching and be blessed by his outpouring to the Lord.

Every one of these was inspiring and made me think. But the last 22 minutes of the Jon Tyson show just resonated with me. I sent it to several friends. Definitely worth a listen.

So peaceful, inspiring, challenging, counter-cultural, refreshing, real, applicable, and honoring to Jesus. He is truly THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE!!!

Current events are examined along with historical moments that provide a perspective broader and deeper than the here and now. The podcast doesn’t leave one with a sense of doom and gloom, but offers hope and practical application on how we can not only survive but thrive. I highly recommend this podcast.

This podcast has been so encouraging to me in my walk with Jesus. I’ve enjoyed hearing other leaders talk about their spiritual practices and encourage us listening to pursue Christ in this crazy world. I’ll be sad when it’s over, but will have plenty of reading recommendations from the show to keep me busy!

I binged the book and loved listening to these interviews of people who helped fill the book out. Worth listening to for sure! May Jesus continue to bless and minister to the hearts who listen and read.

I read the book (of the same title) and it’s incredible but this podcast is such a wonderful deep dive into the heart behind the book and some of the major themes. I recommend for everyone who is a Christian or is interested in the Christian walk or discipleship and spiritual formation.

Such depth, relevant, encouraging conversations that aim to cultivate intimacy between God and His image bearers. I always leave every conversation hungry for the presence of God, longing to be formed to be more like Jesus, and desiring to co-labor with Him. I’ll take this space to TRY and express how all that JMC’s books, podcasts, sermons have meant to me in the past year. I really can’t put words to it other than to say that I feel affirmed in the things the Lord has been speaking to me, especially in the past 18 months. I am and seek to be, first and most importantly a disciple of Jesus AND I am so INCREDIBLY thankful for John Mark and his contemporaries for giving voice and practical teaching for the things the Lord has been whispering to me for many years. To borrow an over used term...it has been life changing, affirming and life giving!

I live in Spain and I can honestly say the content of this podcast is as relevant here as it is in the States. I can’t recommend it enough!

I recently stumbled upon this podcast . What a gem! The conversations are insightful and thought provoking. Wether you are a believer in Christ or not, you will come away profoundly changed and deeply moved!!

In this podcast the conversation leaves room for all to listen and learn. The lines drawn between the secular and profane are often harsh, divisive, painful and at times challenging to hear. Because I know I’ve been the drawer, onlooker and the one drawn out. Grateful for John Mark’s continued courage in his work and an excellent interview with a humble, talented and intelligent human being.

I have grown so much from John Mark Comer and the various Godly people he has on his podcasts. Can’t wait for the book!!

David Brooks and JMC tackle head on the often well-intentioned but misdirected posture of rhe church to “villainize culture” and calls the church to “ride the wave” of the culture to recapture the heart and soul of what God wants for people and from people.
