joejoseph1Smart individuals with Dismissive points and robotic rhetoricThe first podcast compares American and European history together as not being old, vs that of Libya, and then uses that to explain the derivations of how we define human rights. I’m a bit confused why they did this. Europe is old, like really really old, and certainly shouldn’t be lumped in with the baby that is America (assuming we’re talking about the political factions that developed in these respected places). Much of modern law comes from Roman law, in fact. This is not to be exclusionary of the global south, it’s just - you know - history. Moreover, I also think they’re dismissive of how religion can interplay with law, and how many Christians are for human rights (ahem - just like many Muslims aren’t extremists, neither are Christians). I’m really perplexed by the weird happy arrogant and know it all tone of this podcast. Super weird.

warren1987Gross treatment of war in GazaI’m disappointed that you platformed Francesca Albanese. She has nothing but contempt for Jews and her crusade against Israel is funded by Qatar and the other super moral oil states. Is a shame this episode narrowly focuses on issues with Israel and washes the bloody hands of Iran and her band of Jew hating militants.

asdfasdfghjklDisappointingI was looking forward to the podcast and expected it to be a more nuanced view of balancing the rights and obligations of different parties from a legal perspective. The first few episodes were OK but it seems less balanced when dealing with really difficult issues like Gaza. Flores in particular seems to have strong opinions and Ginsburg pushes back a little occasionally, but it isn't the balanced discussion of tradeoffs I had hoped for.

Perú-visitSparks of choices and challenging thoughts!Up or down are relative to the viewer- Professor Claudia Flores does a great job showing both sides of the coin to poke your thinking process and see things from different perspectives. It is for sure a very difficult job she has. She keeps you entertained while exploring completely opposite points of views that might be “right”, “legal “, and “fair” to both sides. Great job opening the different taboo boxes and sparking meaningful conversations. It is for sure, what our country, and perhaps the world, really needs..

West216Entitled provides the kind of honest human rights discussion we needAs a high school teacher, human rights was a central topic in my classes. How I wish Entitled was available when I was teaching! It is exactly the kind of thought-provoking and compelling treatment of an important topic that we very much need. Flores and Ginsburg masterfully treat important, relevant human rights topics in meaningful and realistic ways so that we see the full picture of human rights as they relate to these topics.

tamaton43Stimulating and uniqueI enjoyed this so much. Unique - made me think all day after listening and so entertaining. Really looking forward to next episode.

simonizrOutstandingGreat pod with logical and humorous points of view.

NinoChi55Wonderful!Intellectually stimulating and such a good balance in guests: academics, lawyers, artists and just people in the world grappling with the hardest questions.

hcmi1919Timely, insightful, importantTwo of the best minds in the field call on voices from around the world to discuss one of the most important issues of this or any time. Looking forward to the whole series.

SAGBKBGBBrillantAs an inherent skeptic about the salience of human rights given the practical realities of borders, infighting and perceptions of scarcity, I this podcast opened my mind and gave me much to ponder. Highly recommend...

AJGinsEntitled! is Great!Human Rights and fun don’t necessarily pair, might not be the first thing to come to mind. It is nice to have these two professors explore an idea rather than just tell a point of view. Entitled has humor throughout, as this big question gets opened up.

Ema430A podcast that gives nuance on rightsI’m impressed with the nuance and really smart conversation this pod offers. It’s valuable to think rigorously about rights in such a creative way. I will definitely keep listening!

7shapshapA powerhouse podcastThis podcast really knocks it out of the park on intellectual depth and engaging material. Flores and Ginsburg are such towering intellects, but they break the material down in a relatable and digestible way that teaches you so much—and wow the guests are amazing!!

Nmf1111Smart and engagingAdmittedly, I’m not obsessed with podcasts, but this totally pulled me in. It’s great to hear about human rights from people who are credentialed experts in the law but can lay it out clearly for those who aren’t. The hosts do an excellent job asking tough questions, holding people and companies accountable, and getting you to think critically about these complex topics. Only two episodes in and I’m hooked.

melodia8An engaging and fresh look at rightsThought-provoking and fresh, this first episode wet my appetite for the in-depth questioning of specific “entitlements” we have made into rights. Even if you are a seasoned human rights lawyer, you will find plenty to ponder and learn from. I also loved the input from the students!

bdbknyExcellent new show!I am so glad to find this new podcast. The hosts are incredibly knowledgeable yet accessible, and they interview such an array of interesting guests. Excited to see which human rights topics they surface next.
-
PKV25Engaging and thought provoking!A thoughtful discussion on the nuances of defining rights and why it should matters to us as individuals and as a global community. Enjoyed the specific examples of domestic and international laws and politics that play a role in establishing, or limiting those rights.

LynnetteSolangeFascinating show that I didn’t know I neededTruthfully, I’m a bit podcasted out so I’ve been gravitating to shows where learn new things. This new pod from UChicago intrigued me, especially given that I assume a lot about the idea of rights turns out. Excited to keep listening!
-
unbelievable23FascinatingWow - I loved these two episodes! Great storytelling, fascinating guests, incredibly timely issues.

charlieb7052One of A Kind! This podcast is a one of a kind opportunity to hear actual international lawyers, not pundits, explain the complexities of human rights through engaging and fun stories! Definitely excited to see where this show goes!
