Oh These, Those Stars of Space!

Fiction #178Comedy Fiction #15

Far beyond the frontier of civilized space, sails the starship the CSS Cavalier, manned by her strange and daring crew. Their destination? Adventure. Their cargo? Your dang ears. Their mission? Episodic science fiction comedy at the intersection of Star Trek, Douglas Adams, and the Marquis DeSade. From the same people who birthed unto you the blockbuster true-crime podcast Rude Tales of Magic comes a new and improvised sci-fi (science fiction) delight that has already been banned in most public schools and the Vatican.

    Nothing makes me laugh more
Almost nothing ever makes me laugh out loud but this show frequently does. The characters are all so real. Such talent. Listen, pay for the RSS feed, it’s easy and you’ll literally immediately know it’s the best money you’ve spent all year.

Liberty Balboa - possibly the greatest character ever created!
I love Rude Tales so I thought I’d give this podcast a chance. Love it. You won’t be disappointed! And the Patreon is so affordable. Some good eps on there if you’re hungry for more. Joe is an awesome GM. Very talented. Everyone is having so much fun doing this, you can tell. It’s a delight!

    this is the best podcast
the crew of the ss cavalier constantly have me smiling and laughing in public, much to my chagrin. i wasn’t sure i would like this podcast as much as rude tales of magic, their other show, because i have limited sci-fi knowledge. turns out, it doesnt matter because the show is still so darn funny, even though i might not get every star trek reference. this has become my favorite podcast (shhh don’t tell rude tales).

    The first ever!
Before OTTSOS, no one had ever explored the concept of the far future. What a great show!

    Perfection
there’s just some je ne sais quoi when it comes to this cast. All podcasts sorta feed into the parasocial idea that you know the people on the other end of the mic… but fudge it, I’ll allow it this once! Truly, though, nothing can beat a group of friends goofing off, speaking in silly voices, and solving problems in the most sensual ways possible. In space! OTTSOS is endlessly entertaining and i highly recommend it for anyone who, like me, enjoys popping in their airpods and laughing aloud, seemingly randomly to outside observers, while walking their dog in the wee hours if the morning. P.S. Tim platt - i love you

Talentless dweebs wasting time. Nothing funny, interesting, or original. Stay home and darn socks—you’ll have a better time.

Great hilarious star trek rpg storytelling podcast
I have looked forward to every episode that comes out. So many truly incredible stupid funny moments. I love the one shot style characters that keep staying in the story with the long hauling main narrative characters. Highly recommended!

    Incredible
Each episode somehow captures the feeling of a Star Trek TOS or TNG episode but makes it go off the rails. I fully intend to become a patron, I just want to make it won’t my while.

    Great, but…
This is a fun and neat podcast. I will listen to the free episodes without a doubt. However, I am not paying for individual subscriptions. I would pay for a sci-fi channel that hosted this podcast and an assortment of other similarly related podcasts. Costs too much to pay singularly.

The best star trek spoof possible
The cast captures the fun, zany, adventures at the heart of Star Trek’s themes. Optimistic, fun, and downright HILARIOUS, the cast’s enjoyment comes through clearly. Not to mention the INCREDIBLE SOUND DESIGN!!! This is THE best sci-fi podcast for infinite laughs.

Oh these those funny brilliant souls
They’ve done it again. I didn’t know I could love Carly more until I heard her as a (space) Russian engineer. Chris’ Threadcount is perfection. Ali’s Meredith Chesterfield is my new crush. Branson gets to make non-DM chaos and it’s all you ever wanted. And Taylor joins the gang as a future Rude March Final Four pick Legs Loveless! And Tim!
