    Simple and Powerful
I love the pod. I feel like it’s a simple yet impactful dive into sandwiches. I love that the format is simple and yet accessible with some high flavor ideas that seem so “Molly.” I love that I feel I could make this sandwich and still discover a powerful taste sensation. The fun Molly flair is there and I’m here for that! I’m really enjoying the element Declan brings. It feels like a steady and more firm take that seems truly based on years of solid experience. Sometimes I get the feeling culinary personalities had to go through this journey of unlearning their culinary school/professional experience rigidity in order to have interesting and new ideas. I don’t get that sense with either host and it really increases my interest and it bumps up that feeling of being genuine. The host pairing is balanced and really gives a show that is rather simple an enjoyable and lax vibe. It’s very clear both love a good sando. I hope this review makes sense I’m rather long winded haha. I look forward to more things from both people!

    Opinions are too strong
Oof. I LOVE sandwiches and was so excited to hear a podcast of two foodies celebrating good food. Unfortunately, they’re opinions are so strong about what makes a sandwich the best, they don’t leave any room to appreciate other ways people love those sandwiches. They have great chemistry as hosts but it was really hard to listen to them. I got through two and a half episodes and they made me so sad I couldn’t finish the third.

    BLAT saudade
Hey Decguy so great to hear you on this hilarious podcast, you are truly a sandwich guru. I miss eating BLATs with you and the LA sandwich scene, it’s rather limited here in Paris besides bokit, banh mi, jambon beurre, shawarma/döner/falafel and some mediocre pastrami. Avocados are dismal here as well. I’m stoked to hear more episodes and hope to cross paths again someday! Bisous- Jandy

    Fresh ideas
Helps me stay inspired, when most restaurants are trying to serve similar foods bc they sell. This pod breaks up food monotony.

    Learn and have fun!
This show just raises my spirits on every episode. Molly and Dec have great rapport and the pod is just fun. I have learned so much about sandwiches, cooking, texture and flavors and I don’t even eat many sandwiches although I will now. They know their stuff. I sure hope there are future seasons! Thx for season one!

Love this series but need more tasting!
This series is so much fun and I hope Molly and Declan continue with something similar! The one thing I hope they change a bit is the amount of time spent on tasting at the end. It’s teasingly short! I want to hear all about the sandwich they’re eating and as it stands, it’s much too brief a segment. Looking forward to more from these two!

    🥪🥪🥪
I honestly love this podcast and look forward to it each week. It makes me want to test new culinary ideas in the kitchen while also making me incredibly hungry. Molly and Declan are fun to listen to and I feel like I could hang out with them in their kitchen and feel perfectly comfortable. I hope they continue on with this series or at least with something similar!

    Who hasn’t had a sandwich?
How has this not been done before. With a great balance of personality, humor and legit recipe discussion this show finally recognizes the lowly sandwich as the entire food category it should be.

    Such a sando teaser!
I listen and am hungry to try to make/eat said sandwich! Sadly the episode notes don’t include the ingredient concoction for the said sandwich: SAD.

Love ya and this poddy. I freaking love some sammies and I have been looking for a food pod. I have been watching you for years so this is awesome!!

Short format, tall food, nice bite
I like this shorter program. Lots of podcasts don’t have enough content to fill the time, hence too much irrelevant chatter. Sometimes the facts are a bit off (remember the interwebs aren’t always reliable) or I want to chime in on the recipes i.e. grilled cheese with Italian bread American or cooper cheese and a thick layer of strawberry jam or preserves on top; basic egg salad on soft white or rye with bacon, and give me my tuna melt on an English with 2 halves open face, etc. Btw: jelly is the juice, jam is the pulp, and preserves are the whole fruit. Thanks for making me hungry.

    It’s good
I can’t complain about the information part but the only that bothers me is when they are preparing at the end. It’s fine but I’m visual and this part for me is a waste of time. But it’s ok overall

    I. Love. Sandwiches. And I love this podcast.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 thank you for the entertainment and the tummy rumbles and the drool thinking about the next sandwich I’ll make.

    Unresearched and Shallow
It’s an unusual choice to bill oneself as both a “deep dive” and simultaneously do your only research for the podcast, reading the first paragraph of Wikipedia’s famously idiosyncratic food articles on the subject out loud to the audience. They then do a simple Google for random, unverified factoids. This is no deep dive into deli sandwiches, unfortunately. This is roughly a four-star chat podcast where a couple discusses their sandwich preferences and then makes their own spin on a classic. If you were interested in sandwich history, deli culture, or anything more foodie, you’re better off Googling for yourself.

Great aspects of the sandwiches broken down
Long time listener.. and bartender / server of restaurants for over 20 years…. part time now in in my later life. great break down of all the sandwiches and the history, or so it seems per internet. Love the weigh in. Would dig a break down recipe of all the recipies you end up making at the end in the deets of the pod? This pod makes me hungry and wanting more!!! Keep up the good work. clap, clap!!!

    the best!!
This has easily become my favorite podcast ever!! There is something about listening to sandwich talk that makes me feel like I’m having a normal conversation about food with my friends. Makes my car rides a hundred times better <33 Molly and Declan make me feel like I’m there with them
  • Jaimieeeeeeeeee
    Drool worthy!
I love how Molly and Declan are unapologetically themselves! They bring such a fresh vibe to the the podcast world, and they answered all my questions about sandwich making I never knew I had!

    Be prepared to leave hungry
One of my sons gave me Molly’s cookbook for Mother’s Day this year. I’ve been cooking that book like no other, so naturally I was curious about this podcast. I have to admit skepticism about sandwiches as a topic for a viable podcast series, but wow was I wrong!! Riveting! I sometimes find myself yelling “YES!” and “Nooo!” during an episode. Fun content for sure, Declan’s voice was made for podcasting, and you can be certain Molly would not lead you astray with some of the outside the box ideas.

    Super Fun!
Molly and Declan are great together, I love that Molly has opinions based on professional experience (she was always wonderful on the Bon Appetit podcast) and has some extremely well done YouTube videos). I am having a good time listening to these talks and debates!

    Fun informative podcast
Found this quirky podcast by accident, glad I did. Now I want to try every idea they discuss for varying a simple sandwich. Love sammies

    Molly “try-hard” Baz
I use to be a big fan of molly back at BA but ever since she left her projects have been a little desperate hence this podcast a clear money grab for her fans since she has no original thoughts she wants “to know our fav stories about sandwiches” which is basically giving her free ideas for her boring podcast. Also the little shortcut you use for words like sammie... etc is corny
  • jb2021k
    It should be a winner…
I love listening to people talk about food. I enjoy Molly’s recipes. Every time I turn this podcast on I just end up…not listening. Like in and out my ears. This would be a great podcast to fall asleep to!

And they say you cannot beat a dead horse
There was 0 new or useful information. I cannot believe I spent that much time listening to the hosts rambling about whether or not they *like* this or that sandwich.
  • Emory carlson
    Awesome
I’m always looking forward to new things to listen to. Now when it comes to BLT’s try a fried green tomato with thick bacon and always Miracle Whip good lettuce and your favorite bread toasting optional.

    Fresh and fun
Fresh, fun, like hanging out with two buds talking about sandwiches. Everyone needs a break from news, murder, politics, and this is the palate cleanser we all need. I can’t wait for more episodes!

Have they bitten off more than they can chew?
Maybe I'm just maxed out on food podcasts. To be fair, I've chosen to subject myself to a half hour discussion on the merits of a single kind of sandwich. I just really can't tell if the hosts are actually excited about doing this podcast or are under some duress or contract obligation. There's almost a sense of panic to the discussion. An "odd" ingredient gets suggested which causes some excitement between the two hosts, but then they quickly put parameters in place to reject other options. And then obvious ingredient additions are completely ignored. Perhaps the scope for the podcast is so limited they worry about repetition moving forward. I have yet to come away from an episode excited to walk into the kitchen and try something they suggest simply because they have yet to suggest something I haven't already had previously. It just occurred to me in too old for this podcast. I think this might be great for 20-somethings who are just starting out and need to feed themselves.

    I hate..
Food programs that tries to be edgy with elaborate ingredients common people wouldnt have resources to attain. Japanease bread for a BLT?? Give me a break, who are they appealing to except a small circle of likewise hipsters.

    Food for the Ears
This is a great podcast. I wasn’t sure what to expect - I love sandwiches and I love podcasts so I figured this would interest me - but I was pleasantly surprised with a blend of discussions on sandwich science, personal preferences and creative concoctions of the foodie variety all told by warm and relatable hosts.

    My review #sandwhich
I do believe I should be added to this podcast because of my rather eccentric viewpoint on the popular food item typically referred to as a “sandwich” as a third host on the show I would come up with my own unique taste!! For example, in my opinion a BLT should actually be bacon, lettuce and turkey - hold the lettuce. I for one would become the Florida woman who enjoys a BT! Since I’m sure at this moment, dear molly and co, you are jumping in your seats at this enthralling opportunity for a third host you can feel free to contact me! I do believe there is a chance giving me email on here is unsafe so I will give you my spam email so it may take me a couple minutes/days to respond to your letter holding my offer in it! After further consideration I have realized this display of my personal information may be too unsafe! Molly states later in the podcast “man you’re savage with the inside of your mouth” to which I respond, that’s what she said.

    Zero excitement.
Dull. The lack of energy is palpable. I’m a huge Molly fan. Whoever the other guy is, is as monotone as Ben Stein. This is 30 minutes filled of drab boringness and inside jokes that aren’t funny to the insiders, let alone outsiders. This dude is friend zoned so hard. Would rather be at the dentist getting a filling. Hopefully the producers reevalute. Maybe bring on a guest show. Change the format. Breathe some life into this. PLEASE!!!

    Like a #19
Two pieces of bread simply can’t hold the stacks of awesomeness inside this show. Subscribing has the taste of a #19 on rye at Langer’s.
