The Suburban Women Problem

731
Politics #207

Rachel Vindman thought she’d be a card-carrying member of the GOP forever, until President Trump called her husband a traitor. Microbiologist Jasmine Clark never dreamed of running for office, but then 2016 happened -- now she’s the first Black woman ever elected to represent her suburban district. A US Air Force Veteran turned economist, Amanda Weinstein used to listen to Focus on the Family and lecture her peers about abortion until she couldn’t reconcile her faith with today’s GOP. In the most hotly contested districts in America, suburban women are breaking up with the Republican Party and remaking American politics -- transforming their own lives and getting political for the first time. Each week, Rachel, Jasmine, and Amanda find out why. Want to know what’s causing the GOP’s suburban women problem? Tune in for a political journey through the minds of suburban women, brought to you every Wednesday by Red Wine & Blue. Now in Season 2!

    Advocates for Leftist Violence
Advocates for leftist violence and your murder if you aren’t an AWFL (affluent white female leftist) or part of some minority group they can exploit.

    Ear harm
Ordinarily I’d write a politically charged review after someone makes a crude comment about a former sitting president. I gave this show a chance. It’s just not entertaining. All emotion, no objectivity, it’s wine-mom garbage. Listen at your own risk, it could be actual ear harm.

    Nasty
Happy to say my suburban friends aren’t like this

Rachel Vindman called for the presidents assassination
What a vile piece of garbage. She called for Trump to be killed. I guess your typical democrat these days.
  • minnimeme
    Vile hateful woman
No compassion at all, celebrating Trumps assignation attempt. She sounds like the devil!
  • Lindz:&
If I could give this zero stars, I would.
One of the hosts chose to be a disgusting individual about the assassination attempt on Trumps life. I could care less that she had a vendetta against him. She should never choose to verbalize it as a joke. Do better!
  • FLMJKmom
    Rachel Vindman is trash
Famous for having a overweight Army husband and now makes fun of assassination attempts

Inspiring and Illuminating—for Women and Men
I’m a white male in my 60’s who left the Christian Right to follow the true Jesus, not the GOP Jesus. I’m encouraged by these podcasts and thank suburban women of courage and commitment who have the discernment to see the truth and speak/act for freedom, to defeat rightwing extremism and political corruption to help save democracy and promote the common good.

Great discussions on women’s issues that are all people’s issues
Hey gals! Love all the discussions here and guest interviews, this pod hits it all for women and the people who love them. I’ve had multiple women’s health issues and feel a regular need to scream about removing our rights to live enhancing, life saving health care and especially appreciate these activated women. I do find myself wishing they would get rid of the Lindsey Graham voice in the intro. I skip through it but would be nice if gone.

    Absolutely vital
This podcast should be required listening for women. It’s time to end a narrative about politics that has been fed to us from a male perspective - and the data and thorough knowledge of the hosts enables us to do just that.

    Conversations vital to our democracy
I may be biased because I was a guest, but SWP educates, informs and inspires people to be more active and louder when it comes to how the country is run
  • Helpersonety
    Unsubscribing again
Because the hosts won’t shut up when interviewing guests.

Not all boomers are bad (edited can’t spell 😂)
Love, love the podcast! I’m a huge supporter of Red, Wine & Blue, a card carrying hater of Trump and his election denying cronies, and support democratic values and principles. That being said the only criticism I have is occasionally boomers are being lumped into groups that align with ultra conservative right. I and many of my friends are diehard Dems and support the young, as they are our next leaders. Many of us are mothers and now grandmothers helping to raise our grandchildren with these same values. Thanks for all you do to keep our democracy safe.

    Where have I been
I just saw you ladies on the MeidasTouch. You are all amazing! Your message came through loud and clear with a bit of humor. You are saying the words that most of us think about but are too busy or whatever to take the time to express ourselves. As I said I just saw you this evening for the first time. I am anxious to read through your posts tomorrow. Annie

Let me guess…. Desperate women who complain nonstop
Get a life. Your life is so bad you make this podcast to whine about suburban life? Go live in a trash heap of a big city… see how that goes. And bragging about having Cory Booker as a guest??? LOL
  • raychill seabears
    Women know!!!!
5 stars for all of you ladies. We got this.

    So proud!
Ladies, you are really hitting your stride. Todays episode has to be the best one yet. Very positive and uplifting, showing how all of us can make a difference. Keep up the great work.
  • Yoyi49
    Smart women discussing solutions
Love this show. These are smart women discussing problems and possible solutions, actions we can all take. It’s not a rage & angst podcast. It actually discusses options and steps most of us women can easily take.

    Excellent podcast
This continues to be one of my favorite podcasts. #27 was very insightful for me. I love the young activists. Their explanations were really helpful.
  • Charlie19682013
    Traitor for sure
What a crock. A group of Trump hating women pontificating about the problems that are engulfing our country…they are part of the problem. Next😑
  • Eulahkaye
    No Word!!
There are no words to express the power of this group and podcast!! Why can’t people be more open minded, and see the division in our country, as we (women) do??? Respect, dignity and kindness make up who we are. Why can’t people see what is missing??

    These Ladies Rock
This pod is not just for suburban women. It’s for all who want to expand their awareness. Through these discussions and interviews we learn about actions and accomplishments of American women who work to foster hope, a sense of agency, and more effective communication. It inspires more committed engagement in moving forward together. Season 2 episode 2 is an especially excellent example of this wonderful pod. I highly recommend it (S2:E2) as an introductory episode for anyone who hasn’t listened to these ladies yet. Episode 50 with Mallory McMorrow is absolutely the best!

Finding out the reasonable thing to do is to vote blue
Suburban women are waking up and realizing that the right just wand us terrified cowed and bullied. They are like abusing spouses. Gaslighting and lying to us. Suburban women can’t be Gerrymandered. The good women in this podcast give us the tools and motivation to help our community and to vote for folks who will help our children and our families be respectful to all and value equality, autonomy, education and healthcare and honesty.

Comrades of the Resistance, this podcast is must listening. If you felt like the Dems keep taking a butter knife to a AK47 rally, these smart, insightful, & spirited women will give you hope that the “Liberal Cause” has a pulse.

    Looking forward to more episodes
Rachel, I relate to the silence from the military life. My father was a career Marine. In high school as began to be more politically aware I was constantly reminded that my political activity could negatively impact my dad’s career. This was during the Vietnam conflict. I was horrified by what the administration and Congress did to your husband. I was proud of how he comported himself. After listening to the episode with him I am now in love with him as well- what a sweetheart. The love you two share was evident. Best wishes to you as you soldier on

    Feeds my soul
Finally a podcast by and for women living in - and changing - the suburbs. Open, honest convo that shows exactly why Republicans have such a big suburban women problem - and invites all of us to be a part of it by being true to our values.
  • Casymo

Say again for the people in the back! This podcast has smart, successful, and professional women engaging in fruitful discussions. I hope the GOP is listening and willing to stand up for what's right and stop allowing the tragic shenanigans. I pray you ladies continue to find the strength needed to keep going with this podcast! #dothework #yallaredoingthework
