    Good while it lasted.
Sad to see it end. But if you just found this show go back start at the beginning listen to the episodes. I enjoyed it and found some fun things to do with my group.

Great Show for newbies or oldies
Derrick does a great job at making D&D (and other systems) approachable for all. It is great to hear and learn from so many other DMs.

    Great show
Found this show through his appearance on the Dungeoncast, and it’s become one of my weekly listens. Love all of the content and the interviews

Good content, poorer editing in EARLY episodes.
I’ve enjoyed the guests that have been on, but some of the episodes are cut into each other. It makes for some unfinished interviews and disconnected ideas. It would be nice if you were able to revise some the earlier episodes to make sure they play all the way through. Thanks EDIT: Kept with the show and it cleans up by season 2. I’d still like to hear some of the missing chunks of early season 1, but Derrick upped his game over time and the is show is top notch.

    TTRPG goodness
How Not to DM is a fantastic podcast which interviews great creators and dives into their history and advice. A large part of the episode comes from the person being interviewed, so if you don’t get the spark the first time through, find another one. Derrick is a thoughtful host and his passion for the hobby holds the space for other creators to really bring their best. Want to improve you DMing? This podcast is for you.

Exceptionally Well Produced and worth your time
So many DnD podcasts (and podcasts in general) could learn a lot from this show. The host tailors each interview to the guest on hand - there are no boilerplate questions here - and more than anything the decisions on editing makes for an interview that keeps moving, is coherent, and holds your attention. I can’t recommend this how highly enough!

Engaging, Enlightening, Entertaining for any Dm/GM
An engaging, enlightening, entertaining conversation with well known guests and less known guests from around the world. All with varying roles in the TTRPG world. I have learned so much from this podcast. It is easy to listen to and the progression of the interviews are similar but different at the same time. What a great podcast!

    Thought-provoking & informative!
I've been playing & DM'ing tabletop role-playing games for over 20 years now, and I've learned more about how to be a better DM listening to this podcast than almost any other source out there. Derrick is a fantastic host, not only for his ability to have meaningful conversations, but also for his sense of humor and comfort behind the mic. If you enjoy TTRPGs in any capacity (especially if you're a DM/GM) you owe it to yourself to subscribe to HN2DM today!

    A must listen!!
If you are new to the ttrpg space then give this amazing show a listen! The guest have all sorts of backgrounds in the ttrpg space and there ideas and helpful advice will help you own content soar. The conversation are to the point, fluid, and chuck full of great questions that will leave you wanting more. The only thing bad I can find with this show is there is not more of it! Now back to binging more..

    Good advice, great stories!
As a DM, I’m always looking to learn more about how other folks run their games, and this podcast is a great way to do it! I love the interview style and conversational tone, and there are some fantastic stories and experiences to enjoy and learn from. I also love hearing from and about different creators every week - there are some amazing people in this community, and Derrick does a great job highlighting them.

    As a new DM, amazing!
I’ve only been a GM for 5 small ttrpg sessions, with single digit times being a player. This has been super helpful as I’ve started to write my own adventures. Even if you’re not going to DM it’s still really fun hearing about others experiences and stories.

    DM this is good!
As a DM the one thing you learn is that there is always more to learn and the insight provided here is always eye opening and interesting.
