The most insightful podcast about making a living as a Creative
I’m at a point in my life where it’s really difficult to navigate the balance with my family and my career. With a recent separation from the 9-5 life, and quite an overwhelming amount of freelance film work pouring in, all I want is to hear from people who have been where I’ve been to understand how to juggle this new way of life. I’m only 8 episodes in, but I’ve learned about my own life through others’ life experiences in every episode so far. The best way I can describe how I feel when I listen to this podcast, is hopeful. Hopeful that it’s possible to make a good living doing what I’m good at. It’s wonderful to hear honest conversations from real people.

Wish I had found this sooner!
This is exactly what I needed as I transition to the next stage of career/ life. Wish I found this pod sooner, but so happy I did. Been passing it on to all my crew peeps and friends! Would love to see it keep going, involving other departments and finding out what assets they create via rentals and other life things. Thanks Lars!

    Feeding my love of creativity!
I love that these episodes and topics are transparent and informative, and in no way trying to lead you into one niche. Instead they encourage and show that there is space for your creative mind and creative works to come to life.

    I love the transparency!
Lars is a great host, in that he asks great questions and his guests open up about their finances and funding for creative projects, and he is also totally transparent about his own finances. This stuff is usually taboo, but it doesn’t need to be. After a couple of episodes, I already have some new ideas for my creative business.

    Yes & yes!
As a stay-at-home mom, I have limited work hours and it is usually done in the creative space. This podcast has been a good reminder of the different avenues you can take and unique ways of being successful. Great diversity of people being interviewed and it’s a fun listen! Lars is also a great dude!

    Thank you!
The episodes I’ve heard so far are discussions that all creatives need to hear. It’s comforting to know there are so many out there that broke away from the 9-5 grind to not only follow their passion, but strive to do it in a smart and unique way and not simply become starving artists. I especially love that many guests share where they’ve failed, adjusted, and kept going. My husband and I are at a stage in our life where we are thinking more about how to be creative with our finances and how we can continue doing what we love, so this podcast came at the perfect time. Thank you, Lars, for introducing so many thought-provoking approaches to living and working as an artist!

The Most Accessible (and Realistic) Instruction On Freelancing
What’s great about Creative Income is its accessibility for those of us beginning freelance. Lars Lindstrom doesn’t interview the who’s-whos of Hollywood; he interviews the indie composers, the rental equipment company owners, the people we can ACTUALLY emulate. It’s not about how to make an effervescent million - it about how to make a solid $50,000 doing what you love. The most intimidating thing about freelancing is where to start. Thanks to Lars’ podcast, that fear is eliminated.

Best podcast on the topic of creative income
This podcast is all about how to make money as a creative and as someone starting out on my career as a freelance creative this has been very helpful. Lars does an amazing job interviewing his guests and his guests all have great insights. Each episode focuses on two things - how to make money as a creative through different methods specific to the guest and then how to invest that money so it can help you as a creative grow in your career. Would recomend this to anyone who makes a living as a freelance creative.

Creative essentials for living outside the 9-5 economy.
Although film and production industry specific on the whole, this continued conversational topic from so many disciplines of the industry is invaluable for all manner of creatives trying to navigate the current self employed climate. Having worked with Lars on a film and knowing his own talents and successes only furthers the quality of this information because I’ve seen what it produces. Excellent stuff.

Finally, a podcast that helps ME
As a film industry professional, I’m always trying to figure out how to stay supported when the work gets thin, and how to take advantage of a volatile gig economy. Great tips here.

This is an important overview for filmmakers of all skill levels
As a veteran with over 30 years experience in the film industry one of the most difficult things I see for young filmmakers is how to correctly raise money and get a film distributed. There is not just one way to do it, and this podcast brought up some excellent ideas, and will hopefully encourage content creators to think outside the box.
