Great addition to your limited content
I am listening to Sam’s VOW set reviews. He goes in descending order of Game in Hand Win Rate from 17Lands. The best moments are when he disagrees with the win rate data (or maybe more accurate to say he doesn’t think the win rate reflects the power level of the card). You need to know the set by heart because Sam doesn’t read every card out loud to you. When there’s not much to be said about a card, Sam doesn’t say much. Both much appreciated. Efficient. You will learn something. Recommend 1.5x speed. Great addition to my Limited podcast lineup.

Exactly the podcast I’ve been waiting for.
I love to draft but don’t have time to do dozens of drafts. This podcast summarizes the specific details about each archetype that I need to know.

Must Listen for limited players of all skill levels!
In Sam’s podcast he jokingly refers to his content as “the lecture” before he starts taking questions. I think that is a really great description actually since his presentation really reminds me of a professor patiently explaining complicated content to students. I am a casual player who has been listening to a lot of podcasts to try to up my game in Arena Limited Ladder. There are a few good ones worth listening too but Drafting Archetypes is the one I believe took me from being an okay drafter who enjoyed it to someone who actually can compete. His thought process on the different decks you can go into are really what you need to understand what works and doesn’t in this set. Also I will say I did a one hour coaching session with Sam that was friendly and not at all intimidating and I credit this podcast and that coaching session with helping me get to Mythic this season! Keep up the awesome content Sam!

    Fantastic Drafting Education
Sam’s a genius and downright mesmerizing to listen to. I consider myself an all right limited player; not insanely competitive but I like to feel like I know what I’m doing. I’ve listened to Limited Resources for years (and more recently Lords of Limited), and I have to say Sam’s podcast has felt new and educational and is making me think about the game in ways I haven’t before. I think the podcast is deceptively instructive; while Sam gives great deep dives on specific archetypes in a format, those dives are often informed by thoughtful reflection on more core principles and interactions within the game of Magic. Listening to him discuss how one specific deck works has repeatedly caused me to have a deeper realization about playing Magic generally. Highly recommended.

Please spend any amount of money on production
Great show love the content, this is an extremely informative show that goes super in depth on how to make your limited game better. Every episode has some true nuggets of insight that you will not find elsewhere. However the audio is some of the worst that I have heard on any podcast. Ever. Please buy a better microphone (not USB) and invest in some audio protection cleaning up the recording - there is a lot of background noise (cars, sirens, computer moose, etc) that is extremely distracting and makes it difficult to recommend this excellent podcast!

    Excellent Limited Content!
Sam’s approach to limited magic is accurate and nuanced. He provides excellent insights, and backs it up with to-the-point explanations. Easily one of the best podcasts to help any player get better at Limited, and Magic in general.

The only MTG podcast I listen to twice
It’s just so comprehensive, filled with so many novel insights that I can’t possibly hope to digest and apply them all in one listen. Truly fantastic stuff.

    The Real Deal
This podcast is outstanding. Sam is exceptionally detailed, clear, and thoughtful. He presents some very nuanced, occasionally counterintuitive points in an organized and objective way, never overstates his case, and provides terrific theory behind his reasonings. The red/white aggro Kaldheim episode is one of the deepest and most comprehensive analyses of booster draft I’ve ever found. Terrific.

The BEST Limited content I’ve ever heard.
This was the most helpful limited podcast I’ve ever heard. Love the format of doing a deep dive on archetypes of a format, and with Sam’s knowledge of drafting and him explaining the reasoning behind picks and why you take them instead of just when, is the ultimate level up. So it’s not just a deep dive it’s a level up episode and what more can you ask for! So excited that this is a thing. Download it and get better at drafting.
