Fun podcast and because they are talking about flops, it’s not just about films that have been talked to death. Recommend.

I love movies and I'm always bummed when a movie I was looking forward to turns out to be a dud. BUT I think taking the time to talk about why they flopped gives them a second life--how fun is that?!?!

I’ve loved this podcast from the very first episode I ever heard. Sebastian and Jennifer have created a home base celebration for deep dives of beloved blockbusters that totally blew it - but that’s what’s so beloved about these mooovies! The discussions are scholarly, surprising with what they add to the conversation, and even inclusive, if not just by their freakin’ hilarious chats and all the good people they bring in for them. They don’t bring these movies down. They raise them up like the tentpoles they deserve. I love this podcast. Grateful for it.

I love Tentpole Trauma, the podcast where box office flops are examined like a hilarious cinematic post-mortem. The hosts are so funny and it’s awesome to listen as they dissect “so bad it’s good” cult classics or big studio failures. For me it’s like hanging out with some really funny nerds who love movies as much as I do, and tearing them apart while we laugh ourselves silly! Highly recommend!

It’s fantastic film review fun. The hosts dig deep into ridiculous scenes like Snake Plissken playing basketball and give away cool tidbits like the movie novelizations of the Jaws series that introduce the idea that voodoo magic is the motivation behind the shark attacking Chief Brody’s family. It’s a podcast that makes me laugh and is great at analyzing the absurd, interesting minutia of box office bombs.

I love these two! I love that they take a look at movies that failed to make money and they review and analyze why! The big trouble in little china episode is great! I also agree it holds up better than golden child. Like these two I’ve seen this movie so many times! Definitely got to add this to your podcast listens

This podcast feels like such a labor of love! I just got done listening to the Alien 3 episode where they dove into the script drafts developed for the film, covered the photography, the score, the cast, etc. Very comprehensive with some really funny moments. I'm a movie fan but it's fun to listen to folks who know so much more than me, who bring their expertise to the conversation.

Great podcast - lots of fun. I generally don’t like a lot of podcasts because the hosts are wasting my time trying to crack each other up. They stay on topic, and dissect some horrible (and some great) box office flops. More fun that actually watching most of the movies they talk about!

Tentpole Trauma has a very calm and cozy vibe to it. It’s a fun conversation between people who love and appreciate movies. The host and his guests always bring interesting perspectives as well as a sense of humor. It brings the movie knowledge but also doesn’t take itself too seriously. Truly a fun listen!
