More Classical Music Talk Pls :)
Smart, funny people reviewing idiotic shows is the cross-section podcasts were invented for. If we cannot make fun of our collective obsession with mind-numbing reality TV, where, as a culture, are we? This show also got me through two years as a NYC dog-walker. Thanks for seeing us through, dudes.

    Great Pod too many adds
Great pod! It helped me through a tough break up when it was recommended to me by a friend. I have been listening since 2021 and had given a 5 star review without comment earlier. I listen on my way to and from work and have noticed that the ads section seems to be getting longer. If there were a paid add free version that would be great. I can’t skip the ads because of driving safety.

    They’re the best!
I’m happily married and I still enjoy listening to their dating advice. I reflect on past relationships and realize how badly I needed them when I was younger. As for the Love Fest episodes, they make me reflect on my marriage and one of these days I’m going to write your questions down so we can answer them. After 11 years of marriage, it would be fun to revisit our early impressions and such. And then we have their Bachelor recaps (and other dating shows) - they’re THE BEST. Sharleen is so astute and Andy provides a great balance of humor and realism. I just adore them!

    Love
Such a great podcast! Every time I watch a show they recap I almost can’t wait to listen to the recap just as much as watching the show.

A human with a dog name
I adore Dear Shandy, but as an actual human named Ruby, it is jarring to hear my name cooed in a baby voice at the end of the episode 😅. I’m poking fun of course, and I just make sure to turn the episode off before the end.

Overrated and Elitist: A Disappointment from Start to Finish
I can no longer, in good conscience, listen to Dear Shandy. This podcast, which I once approached with enthusiasm, has revealed itself as a toxic blend of elitism, vanity, and unchecked entitlement, making it impossible to enjoy or recommend. First and foremost, the hosts—husband and wife duo Andy and Sharleen—exude an air of superiority that is both off-putting and exhausting. Their disdain for "unintelligent" people, coupled with their exaggerated awe whenever a listener uses a word they don’t know, is nothing short of patronizing. The incredulity they display at learning a new word isn’t endearing; it’s cringeworthy. Add to this their open disdain for anyone living outside of New York City, particularly their snarky remarks about Los Angeles residents, and you’re left with the distinct impression that they view New York as the only city worth existing in—a laughably narrow perspective. Second, the self-importance and vanity of this pair are astounding. During listener write-ins, they dedicate unnecessary time to reading out compliments from listeners, as though fishing for validation is a prerequisite for answering questions. Worse, any critique—no matter how mild—is taken as a grievous offense. A single listener’s comment about disliking Andy’s singing spiraled into an entire segment of melodrama and public shaming, culminating in the commenter feeling pressured to delete their opinion. This behavior is unprofessional and reeks of insecurity. Third, Andy’s repeated displays of sexism and Sharleen’s complicity in his biased analyses are simply unacceptable. Their takes on reality TV are riddled with a troubling pattern: Andy routinely goes soft on problematic men while demonizing women over minor transgressions. The recent "2024 in Review" episode was the final straw. Andy’s insistence that Sydney, not Devin, was the year’s biggest villain—despite Devin’s documented harmful behavior—exposed a glaring double standard. Sharleen, rather than calling out this obvious bias, always chooses to enable it by offering undue empathy for the men while chastising women unfairly. Finally, the personal dynamics of the hosts are equally unappealing. I strongly suspect Andy has a tendency to excuse the bad behavior of male friends with dismissive statements like, “That’s just Charlie,” revealing a troubling lack of accountability. Meanwhile, Sharleen’s obsessive need to present herself as flawless creates an environment that alienates listeners and likely her peers. Her anecdote about being excluded from friendships she facilitates was presented with an air of martyrdom that felt more like passive-aggressive self-pity than genuine vulnerability. In summary, Dear Shandy is a masterclass in how not to host a podcast. Between the arrogance, vanity, and latent misogyny, there is little here that warrants the attention of intelligent, open-minded listeners. Save yourself the frustration and invest your time elsewhere. This is a podcast that thrives on toxic dynamics and unearned superiority, and frankly, the world deserves better.

    They’re the best!
I love Dear Shandy! I like any kind of content they put out (as I’m sure most Shandies do as well). I also love buying Fungies with their coupon code. I have been a fan since the pretty pandas days. :)

    Money episodes
I like a lot of these episodes and think both hosts seem like nice people. The only downside for me is that I find myself distracted by the intensity of Sharleen’s responses when the question has to do with money and specifically borrowing money/being taken advantage of. It feels like there must be trauma there or something because her usual way of responding seems almost hijacked and I’ve often had to fast forward through those sections. It’s not that I always disagree with her perspective, it just feels like she’s responding to something beyond what the caller/writer/shandy has even said and it’s very noticeable.

Everyone wants to hang with Shandy
Sharleen and Andy are the kind of cool grounded people that everyone wants to hang out with. And they are so authentic and open that you actually feel like you ARE hanging out with them. They’re both intelligent and funny on their own, and exponentially so together, which makes every episode enjoyable, no matter what they’re talking about.

    10/10 would recommend
I’ve been listening to Dear Shandy for 2-3 years and my only regret is that I didn’t start listening sooner. It doesn’t matter what they’re discussing, I’m always happy to listen. Their compassionate and pragmatic approach is refreshing along with their levity to boot. I don’t think there’s an episode where I haven’t laughed! Laughter truly is the best medicine ;).

Far and Away My Favorite Podcast!
Sharleen and Andy are couple goals and podcast hosts extraordinaire! I watch or listen to every episode drop on the day of and always look forward to the next! The quality of their content and production is unmatched. It’s clear how much time and effort they put toward producing their shows! From their Bachelor/LIB recaps, Love Fests, Caller Q&As and Hot Topic interviews—I can’t get enough!

    👍🏼
I don’t ever really leave reviews but I feel like I have to because of how much I love this podcast. I used to listen to Viall Files for all things Bachelor but now that they have switched formats in the recent years, it has become almost unbearable. In my search, I have found many other Bachelor recap podcasts, but none of them provide the psychoanalysis that I yearn for. (Maybe I’m the problem). I’m not sure how I stumbled upon Dear Shandy but I’m so glad I did. Sharleen and Andy have a wonderful dynamic. You can tell they have a great relationship in real life. They are very witty, I often find myself laughing out loud. There is the perfect balance of recap and analysis and it is obvious that they put a lot of preparation into the show.

Her dress at Men Tell All
AGREE! The dress was too much. Very distracting. And might I say, it was because of the swirly plunge. A little ill fitting. I didn’t want to see that much of her cleavage. And I’m allowed to say it because I am 64 years old and so I can relate without judgement. Lol. She didn’t need it. Love your podcast. Listen every week.

    My favorite podcast!!
I absolutely LOVE this podcast! Andy and Sharleen are excellent hosts and always have great insights. Me and my fiancé listen weekly and we especially love their golden bachelorette episodes. My only request is - can y’all please address how Chock looks and sounds JUST like George Bush?!? Both George H.W. and George W. Do y'all see the resemblance? This is great tangent material!

    Favorite Relationship / Bachelor Podcast!
I never bother to write reviews, but everyone should know about this six-star podcast. Sharleen and Andy's chemistry and banter with each other is incredible, and they offer such nuanced, genuinely clever advice to any question asked. The balance of their two perspectives is what really makes the podcast shine, from relationship advice to Bachelor recaps. Even if the topic isn't directly applicable to your life, they drop some fantastic truths about dating and relationships that anyone can relate to. If that isn't enough for you, tune in for their great sense of humor and carefully considered honesty / tough love. Their Bach recaps are a hilarious combination of Sharleen's measured insider perspective and Andy's bemused, loving critiques of the show. It's also so wonderful to listen to a podcast hosted by a couple whose relationship audibly brims with both laughter and a deep respect for each other's opinions! I'm a huge fan of both Sharleen and Andy and all the work they put into this. I listen in my car, at home, or walking around the city, and look forward to every new episode.
  • Loyal Shandy
    My Favorite Podcast!!!!
Been a loyal Shandy since the pandemic days! The excitement I feel every time I’m notified of a new Dear Shandy episode is greater than when I’m literally eating a donut and I LOVE donuts!!! Sharleen and Andy are not only hilarious but also so insightful and give the best advice and recaps. They were meant to be podcasters and I appreciate all the hard work that goes into crafting each high quality episode on top of being an incredible opera singer and mystery day job holder. P.S. Gotta stay to the end to see whose lap Ruby chooses!!

    Five star power
I love this couple! Andy’s tangents and Sharlene’s laugh are irresistible. I am amazed at how long Sharlene can sit in the lotus position. Google tells me the record set recently is 2 hours 21 minutes. I have a feeling if she wanted to, she could break it. 🧘🏻‍♂️

The best podcast- love the recaps!
That last recap on hometowns, with the last “my wifeeeee” at the end, had me cracking up so hard. We appreciate all rants and songs always!

This is hands down my favorite podcast. Sharleen and Andy’s rapport, their support for one another, their use of humor, musical gifts—they are like your very best couple friends whose advice you trust! Listen! You won’t be disappointed! And don’t miss the appearance of their adorable pup Ruby at the end of each episode.

Sharleen and Andy are two gems
In the last golden bachelorette recap episode, I was very sad to hear that someone left a bad review because they didn’t like Andy?! That is absolutely shocking to me and I 100% disagree. Andy is a wealth of information and brings a unique flavor to the podcast that truly sets it apart. His insights paired with Sharleen’s storytelling skills and attention to detail for each episode makes it engaging and refreshing, unlike anything else out there. They’re an amazing pair and honestly, if they weren’t famous, my husband and I would be good friends with them. Love this podcast!

    Wholesome and Fun
I absolutely love listening to Sharlene and Andy. They are #relationshipgoals and are so genuine and relatable. They do a fantastic job recapping The Bachelor shows and it’s great to hear Sharlene’s insider knowledge of the show. Their advice during caller episodes and Q&As is always spot on! I love listening to their show!

    Love these guys
I’ve got not a single bad thing to say….including Andy’s commercial jingles. That’s a miracle. Thank you for keeping politics out of your recaps. Thank you for being adults. And keep sharing your musical creativity with the world. Sing it loud and proud!! Please don’t pay attention to the few cranks in the reviews. You’re a delight. I also genuinely appreciate the mature, realistic advice you give. And how confident you are as a couple and you can talk about exes with seemingly no jealousy. I too listen to the commercials out of a sense of loyalty.

    A diamond in the rough
I use to listen to all of the bachelor podcasts, but as I’ve gotten older/had more babies/work has gotten so much busier, I have dwindled my podcast priorities down to only two a week. This this is one of them! If I ever have to go to one…. Dear Shandy it is!
  • PenD2
    The best!
You two are so, so, good at what you do. You mix a perfect amount of your personalities with your content. I love all your versions….bachelor(ette) recaps, love fests, and Q and A’s. Nothing makes me happier than hearing Sharlene’s genuine laugh. Keep being real ❤️

Charm, Chemistry, Insight, Humor - it has it all!
Sharleen and Andy are an absolute delight to listen to each week. They are an intelligent, compassionate, couple with undeniable, electric chemistry and this podcast gives me the warm, cozy feeling of listening to friends sitting in their living room dishing out relationship wisdom gold nuggets. They are fair, respectful hosts to their guests and I love the variety of episodes. I have favorites from all their episode categories - from the Love Fests and expert interviews to the q&as and recaps. This podcast deserves much greater success. I’ve been a follower since Day 1 (on the edge of my seat for the first episode to release from when Sharleen announced this new venture!) I hope to continue to hear from Andy and Sharleen for years. Thank you for all the hard work and heart you put into this Sharleen and Andy! I’m a proud Shandy!

This is always my first choice for bachelor / bachelorette recaps! I love Sharleen & Andy’s banter and balanced take on things. They’re hilarious - I’m always literally laughing out loud during this pod! Also I always play it where my husband can hear bc I think it’s so good that just MAYBE it’ll finally drag him into bachelor world!!! (The pit😉)

    New favorite “comfort food” podcast
I just started listening to Dear Shandy (thanks to a recommendation from Claire and Emma’s Love to See It podcast) and I am HOOKED. I have been binge-ing old recap episodes from Jenn’s bachelorette season and loving the current Golden Bachelorette recaps. Sharleen and Andy have such an easy, warm, and hilarious dynamic. My favorite is when Andy makes one of his dry, deadpan jokes and Sharleen cracks up laughing. I haven’t even listened to their non-bachelorette content yet but I’m sure I’ll enjoy it. They are my comfort food podcast and I feel like they’re my friends already. So glad I found them.
