It seems like every conversation I listen to connects in a deep and meaningful way. This is exactly what’s missing right now.

Thank you On Being, for this hopeful podcast; particularly to all of the participants for the courageous dialogue throughout #1145 from the Hague.

A good start to the basic philosophical/spiritual questions I had when I was nineteen. But this is a podcast that’s easy to outgrow, rather than an intellectual “offering” to enjoy for more than a few late adolescent years. Identity politics is over. Therapy culture is annoying. Buttering up an interviewee’s sound-bite as profundity when you haven’t even had time to actually think about what’s been said is grating. The zeitgeist is moving away from any tolerance for being chided. I read Baldwin and your recent youth episode was my final straw for never listening to this podcast again. Here’s to a better life that includes being blunt. PS This is your sign to fire your therapist.

Much needed wisdom, SO needed…

I love the On Being podcast for the extremely accomplished, inspiring guests that Krista Tippett brings to her audience in this podcast. But after years of listening to Krista’s ‘uuummmm’ musings while interviewing her guests, along with constantly interrupting her guests while answering her questions, I cannot listen (and continue) to enjoy this podcast any longer. Krista does/can ask prodding, insightful questions of her guests but her murmurings completely eclipse the rest of her interview. Please Krista, discover a new interviewing paradigm that reflects your keen intelligence. As an interviewer, you have outlived your podcast.

Between Krista’s buttery voice, her truly thoughtful inquiry process, and the brilliant guests she brings on her show, On Being should be on every human being’s Must Listen list. The conversations and sharing are inspiring, insightful, and mind and heart opening for a better today and a better tomorrow….tender kisses of light and sunshine, reminders that we can be better for ourselves and all beings.

I’m so glad I found “ On Being” a while back. The word that comes to mind is “ exquisite”. I’ll never make it through all the interviews I’d like but I love that they are there. This podcast is a treasure to cherish. 🩷

Excellent, insightful, and inspiring, this show covers a wide range of subjects all in the pursuit of answering life’s most pressing questions - why are we here and how do we best serve the planet and each other to create richness, depth, and meaning in our lives. It is limited and very much embodies a neoliberal viewpoint with dashes of progressivism.

For years she has taken a lot of time to bring guests that open minds to information that can enrich life and show a full richness that guides to beautiful place our minds find so much full throttle zestful joy

I learn new ways of being present in the world. Every episode is a spiritual + intellectual calisthenics where I find a new teacher. Thank you, Krista, for your years of excellent interviewing and helping me tap into the best parts of myself

Some wonderful conversations. I’m slowly working my way through the archives. Seems to me, no matter what the title of the episode or who the guest is, the ongoing thread of this very worthwhile podcast is simply what it means to be fully human in today’s world. Recommended.

Krista Tippet has great people on her podcast, then interrupts and talks over them. It’s frustrating to hear a Nobel winning poet start to speak only to have Krista cut them off in order to continue her unending monologue.

Krista is one of the best interviewers! She knows how to bring out a persons, voice + spirit at the same time - going deep and helping us to feel connected. Her grace and heart are evident in every interview - not to mention her strength in facts, words, and deeds. Krista’s authenticity is palpable.

Every time I listen to On Being.. I feel more human. I always look forward to the next release. Thank you for broadening my perspective. Gene from Michigan.

Great podcast and lovely, thoughtful conversations. I just wish krista would minimize her interruptions of the guests. Sometimes you can tell they are in the zone and articulating an idea very near to them, when suddenly krista will jump in with a “explainer” which feels so jarring, and sometimes ruins the flow of the conversation abruptly. It’s not too often but I can tell in her eagerness to make sense of what is being said, she will often jump in. But overall a great podcast. Truly life changing.

When podcasts started coming out, On Being was the only one I listened to. The guests, the content, the questions Krista asks, are all intricately woven to create a beautiful, inspiring conversation. I even have a binder full of notes taken from On Being podcasts. Keep doing your magical work, Krista. It has such value in a hurting world.

the sheer lucidity

I can’t think of two individuals that I would like to discuss the overwhelming complexity of AI, its role in our future and it’s present state and what it means. I’ve learned so much from this episode- I’ll listen to it again soon- the idealist in me wants to see it as goodness and the street smart skeptic in me wants to be very afraid of it getting in the wrong hands. I have been listening to Krista’s On Being for many years, and she gets to the heart of what’s so essential to my soul and intellect every time. I’m always left inspired, and enriched by her conversation with her guests: always with respect, curiosity and humility. Thank you for always providing such a quality of beautiful work.

The show makes little to no sense and is overall hard to follow. It’s done in a coy “intellectual” tone where Krista Tippett is holier than thou in her quest for spirituality and forces these overtones on her guests.

I can’t listen to an episode without wanting to write something down- a quote or idea that makes my heart glad or my mind reconsider. And I always need to find someone to share the episode with! So glad this podcast is back!

My all time favorite podcast. My go to when I can’t sleep, when I want to feel inspired, when I am hiking through the forest, when I am on an airplane. It is the podcast I always want to hear. I feel like a better human for listening. I am for sure inspired, moved and enlightened. So grateful!

Just listened to the uplifting interview with Janine Benyus. So much lovely there, though I was surprised the word “capitalism” never came up when both host and guest seemed flummoxed by why humanity didn’t turn to nature sooner other than to extract from it. I know this show centers whiteness (the proverbial “we”) but I wish there was at least a nod (instead of a reference to “some people”) to indigenous communities where there has been an unbroken line in being *of* nature and who are the human teachers.

I love the fresh new approach for On Being AND!!! I nearly cried when I saw Barbara Brown Taylor was todays's guest. I crave hearing from her!!! Thank you!

In an era of unceasing negative news cycles, On Being showcases and points us toward individuals using their one and only life toward restoration and hope. Very few conversations inspire these days, yet On Being does consistently. I come away from these encounters renewed in my own quest for leaving things better than I found them.

I’ve listened to On Being since the very first episodes. As the world changes, so does the show. I’m thrilled to listen to thoughtful, in-depth interviews with poets, theologians, scientists, thinkers, activists and artists. The show invites us to learn about the way guests see the world using their own particular lens and how we might incorporate their wisdom into saving - and enjoying - our planet. Personally, my life has been changed by meeting “new-to-me” thinkers, from Joanna Macy to James Bridle, and subsequently reading their works. Thank you to the whole team!
