Brilliant Comedy Podcast That Sometimes Mentions Sport

This is not a sports podcast, it’s a comedy pod with sport involved, so its appeal is universal. Two comedians and another bloke joking and enjoying lots of laughs. The humour is infectious and every few episodes there’s a moment that makes me cry with mirth.

Run out of road

This is a good podcast but the format can only last so long and for me it’s run it’s course. Also very irritating when they virtue signal for ages about women’s sports and attitudes thereto - as if their audience are a bunch of neanderthals. They never actually discuss the interesting part of equal pay for professional sports of course - just drone on about equal opportunity etc as if it’s a novel idea. Not sure why they do this - I suspect that either they’re really ashamed of a sexist past or they’re trying to get laid, but either way - give it a rest lads.

Used to love the POD

I used to love this POD but it seems they are happy hiding behind the pay. I started listening to the POD durning Covid and I would enjoy the 2 hour POD on my hikes but it seems like everything else in the world it’s all about the money. Yes you get content but they broke it up Biweekly now. It’s a great listen but you really have to pay to get the experience of what it used to be like. There are so many great pods to listen to that don’t require a pay wall. They have adds and a paywall.

One of the few sports pods where the hosts actually like sports (even if they rarely talk about them). I’ve learned so much about 70s and 80s welsh rugby.

I started listening to the pod because I couldn’t get enough of Elis’ voice in the occasional Guardian Football Weekly appearance. I soon realized Stef and Mike were also likable characters and, of course, are hilarious. The 70s and 80s chatter and Welsh references fly well over my head as a 29-year-old from Brazil living in California, but I’m learning and laughing along the way. Patreon account on the way. I’ve read two of the three books mentioned on episode 16 - War Baby and Playgrounds of the Gods - both excellent reads. I recommend Winter Colours by Donald McRae as a good read. This podcast has me laughing out loud.
