Stella Adler alumniActing needs saving: Milton to the rescueIt’s like being taught by Stella Adler. Milton’s knowledge and passion is so refreshing to any Actor at any stage of their career. His tools to apply to your craft will get your work to a more specific place rather than any cliche we see constantly. I’m proud to be a longtime student of his!!!

James ShelledyFilled the gapI discovered Milton by accident on a random google search. Afterwards, I picked up a Stella Adler book and found that I could finally understand what she was talking about. I quickly subscribed to his podcast. I had finished two years of Michael Chekhov and Meisner. And while I love both techniques, I found there was a big gap. Milton filled it. Script analysis. The given circumstances. His approach has given me autonomy. I no longer feel dependent on my partner or the director. I can reach characters that are far from me with more ease. And I enjoy the preparation more, which let’s face it, is 90% (or some high percentage) of acting. Thanks Milton!

DJTC86WHERE HAVE U BEEN ALL THIS TIME?!I can’t state how RELIEVED I am that I found this Acting podcast after endlessly searching for an Acting “Teacher” & really someone who knew WHAT THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT. I’ve been Acting for years and audited many classes in Los Angeles by whom I won’t drag but it says A LOT when U realize they were pushing the same regurgitations to make a buck without the actual understanding of technique and substance vs tools that could probably help you book a job. It’s a career, a profession, and like an athlete the work must be constant, dogged, and committed; Milton lives by that. If u find yourself SEARCHING FOR MORE that you FEEL you are missing as an Actor, that you don’t just want to book/work but you want to excel, then welcome.

LotusbellyInsightfulMilton gives great insight on how to deliver an authentic performance. He instructs on how to do the real work to develop character, rather than a hack. I cannot express how helpful his podcast AND his classes have been.

Lotsa PodsLife Lessons AND Acting lessonsI am so happy the Universe led me to this amazing show! I have binged for days! I’ve studied acting and I’m active in community theatre but I still dream of going professional! Milton’s acting advise applies so much to life!! For example: What is my character (or client’s) problem? You don’t HAVE to do it…you GET to!!! I’m doing THAT THING again! You’ll never get it Perfectly because we’re always evolving and finally my favorite: it’s all a LIE and an actor’s job is to convince them it’s truth! We get together to build that lie and make it more believable and we call that REHEARSAL! 🎭 I ordered Milton’s book by the way and will be recommending it to my business clients!

Beulah NEntertaining and Educational!I’ve only listened to about ten episodes of this show, but I already love it and have found so many helpful things to think about when I’m acting. Milton is hilarious and I appreciate all the real life examples and name drops. Can’t wait to listen more!

MustardBiscuitsFantastic “guide posts” for the working actor.I came across this podcast about a week ago. I’ve listened to all the episodes in the past week. Yeah, it’s been pretty much playing all day. This podcast will give you “guide posts” to think about as you do the work of an actor. It may dispel a few “myths” about what “method” is. How do you you build character? Become character? Accept the circumstances? How do you move deeper into the work? All things covered. Thanks Milton…et al. Really love this and wish “I was in your class” albeit I guess I am via this podcast! Ok. Update. I bought the book. It’s great to read along with the podcast. They are more powerful together. The icing? Im taking his script analysis class. The trifecta!

Daryn J.The Artist’s MindAs a current director who is finally embracing his first love of acting, I feel like a much younger man when I listen to Milton Justice’s “I Don’t Need an Acting Class”. As the episodes play out, I find myself soaking in each and every word. In many cases, I am right back in the acting classes of my youth; it is SO REFRESHING to feel like I’m back into a community of artists who understand the craft I love so much. Milton not only understands the craft expertly, he’s a joy to listen to. If you are an actor at ANY stage of your development, I highly recommend this podcast. The Artist’s Mind The artist’s mind wanders...it skips along in joyful rhythm; at once it dives so deep, exploring it’s subject...inquisitive and spontaneous. The outside world asks if they are daydreaming, stalling, lazy, unfocused...and all the artist hears is the pain of those judgements. The artist is none of those things; could be none of those things. They are too busy creating, dreaming, doing, loving and learning. They are completely unaware of the simple life; to them the outside world moves at a dreadfully slow, melancholy pace. They are passionate consumers of life, and see it for all it’s joyous color and spectacle. The Artist’s Mind never sleeps....

LauraSainz2The Acting Teacher of my DreamsThis podcast has undoubtedly changed me as an actress and has given me a different perspective on acting. In those few minutes of the episodes which I wish could turn into hours, I learn what I would probably not have heard from any other acting teacher I can only hope to one day have the pleasure to be sitting in a class with Milton. Thank you for sharing your priceless knowledge.

Jaubin42Professional and PoliteMilton and the I Don’t Need An Acting Class crew are all incredible and extremely helpful. Any questions or concerns are responded to promptly, without the compromise of information. Milton provides an in-depth analysis of different facets of acting, something a novel actor like myself values very highly. Overall, 12/10 podcast! I’d give it 10 stars if possible!

TheHeroineWith1000FacesMilton is brilliant! Take a listen to this podcast!I really had no idea where I was headed as an actress. Totally lost, no purpose to my acting, just saying lines on a page and hoping it sounded good. Milton is..incredible. He changed my acting for the better and myself as a human being. After all, that growth between those two is synonymous as Stella Adler said :) I’m looking forward to Milton’s book! Can’t thank him enough for encouraging and enlightening actors like me to hone their talent and grow in the craft of acting. You won’t want to miss this podcast!

Hard To PigeonholeGold MapThis series is a gold mine. In a few minutes of deceptively casual reflections, Milton will suddenly connect two dots or turn a thought sideways to reveal a "do-able" pathway through the thicket.
-
SRActorGreat AdviceI’m a beginning actor late in life. Milton speaks to the things I am going through and struggling with. This podcast is incredibly helpful and taught in a way you can absorb it and dwell on what Milton says.

Kaleb SaleebyEssential Listening for the Studying Actor! It doesn’t matter if you’re new, or experienced; if you have a career or not. Milton Justice’s podcast, “I Don’t Need an Acting Class” is going to challenge your ideas about what it means to be an actor. His lessons on talking out your actor work has been a revelation for me, and he’s challenging me on what I thought I knew in regard to my actor/script relationship! Spend some time meditating on these lessons. You won’t be disappointed. As of this writing, I’m already on my fifth time listening through each episode! Also, the producer of the show, Walker Vreeland, is absolutely amazing! Many thanks to Walker for convincing Milton to make this podcast and share his wisdom for the benefit of actors everywhere. ❤️

KBF1025A True Master of this CraftProfessor Milton is the Cus D’Amato of acting. His experience and expertise expands over 40 years. He teaches you script analysis, character analysis, big ideas, he gives you a bulletproof technique and solid foundation to make you a solid actor..what acting should be. The creative process of an actor needs to be based on a scientific system that is universal, Milton Justice has created that.

Erica PooleInsightful and FunnyMilton does a great job cutting to the chase in this short and sweet series. He is clearly speaking from years of study and experience as his lessons always include real life examples and remain grounded. This is a must listen for any aspiring or professional actor. Charming voice and great sound quality! I can hardly wait until the book comes out.

NYC resGreat resource for actors and artistsI stumbled upon this podcast during quarantine and it’s been a great source of inspiration. Everything Milton discusses is truly about the art of acting. Many of us can’t be in class right now but it doesn’t mean we have to stop exploring and working on our craft and artistic process.

juzdn AndyEntertaining, helpfulFun, grounded and easy to comprehend. His discussion about choice helped me identify one of my bad acting habits. He’s pretty honest and cracks me up when he calls stuff out.

evanthecoloristThis is an amazing podcast!I didn’t think I could learn anything new about acting...and then I listened to Milton Justice. Wow, this guy is good. 👍

John YvanMy only regret: I wish I had found this earlierInsightful, entertaining and thought provoking. Milton is a man of pure genius. What makes him different from the rest is his ability to get to the core of what being an actor is about. It’s not about lines, tricks, quick tips etc... This podcast is about saving The American Theatre.
-
David973Snobbery at its finest. On the episode I listened to today, Uncle Miltie made a comment about a choice someone made in an action movie, and followed up with “I looked him up, saw that he went to Julliard and thought ‘oh thank goodness, he’s a real actor.’” Thanks for letting me know I’m not a “real actor,” sir. Guess I don’t need to bother listening anymore.
-
Alyson GorskeBest acting podcast yet!Milton’s lectures are as inspiring and entertaining as they are informative! I’m so grateful to have found this podcast.

jcc486Great resource for actorsI am a professional actor. I have long been inspired by podcasts covering the craft of songwriting and music production... but have never found an acting podcast that focuses on the CRAFT of acting... so many are centered around actors and stories about how they came to be discovered or how they built their careers... I wanted something I could listen to on my way to work (as an actor) that would inspire me to look deeper, try harder, and be better... we’re only a few episodes in, but I think I’ve found it! Keep up the good work Milton and keep on inspiring us! And thank you!
