    Super Starz
Superstar team! Great show but I especially love when their professional opinions come into play.

    Are they friends?
Love the information and level of depth provided but really can’t stand Megan’s condescending tones throughout the episodes. She’s so rude and mean to Amy and I’m not a fan of her “know-it-all” attitude. Really ruins the shows vibes.

    Stories are great BUT..
I really like this podcast but I can’t help but feel like Megan is just not nice to Amy. She is always making condescending comments like recently when Amy said she ordered a fun mug for Megan and she said something along the lines of “I don’t find your mugs amusing” and I just don’t get how you can be so cold to a friend like that. Maybe that’s their dynamic but I find it off-putting. I think Amy is super sweet and a much better friend.

    Well done and consistent
This podcast is a dark horse in the true crime space. The hosts are intelligent and professional but also allow their personalities shine through. It’s the perfect balance. They are consistent in their content and it is always well researched. Love this podcast!

    All around amazing
I am so glad I started listening to W&C! I’ve binged every episode, a few more than once. I love the way they explain and talk through the victims and perpetrators. The way they can be so empathetic towards the victims while explaining why the criminal did what they is so amazing. They are fair and really take the time to talk through items and criminal terms that I’d have to google if not for them! Y’all are amazing!

    Excellent
I am so happy to have heard about this podcast as these women are such consummate professionals and they are aware of the issues that affect women within our society and within the criminal justice system. There is compassion for victims and critical thinking regarding the cause of these crimes. Well done.

When I see I have a new episode of women in crime, I feel like a delicious piece of cheesecake was just hand delivered to me! Haha I love their friendship, dynamic, amazing knowledge and humble personalities. This and Campus Killings are my top shows and I can never get enough from these two amazing ladies!

PhDs who can’t get details correct
I scroll your log to get the case names so I can go to other podcasts to hear the case covered in truth because I can’t trust either of you to have the facts correct. You stated Adam Walsh was 8 when he was murdered and he was NOT, you stated Alex Smith was 15 months old when he was NOT, you stated Diane Downs accused a Black man when she did not. It’s unacceptable for either of you to get facts wrong. I’m pulling my financial support and looking for another podcast to back. Additionally, stop confusing feelings and thoughts. You don’t “feel like you’ve heard it before” you THINK you’ve heard it before.

I love this podcast! I love that theories are discussed and they are used to help us understand the victims and perpetrators. I have also started to listen to Campus Killings. I also love all the intelligent listener questions and discussions throughout this entire podcast!

One of my favorite podcasts of all time
I’ve been listening to Women and Crime for years and it remains one of my absolute favorite podcasts. Amy and Meghan are highly educated and experienced criminologists approaching cases from a respectful place, evaluating the justice system these cases are subject to. I wish I could take one of their classes! 💕

    The best true crime podcast!
This podcast is so well done. The podcasters Megan and Amy are so incredibly thoughtful in how they cover each crime. I love their perspectives. They share just enough to keep it interesting but not too much personal stuff. I love how they thoughtfully question each other on their perpsectives as they reveal the crimes. I even joined so I could get all Of their episodes. Its so worth it. Thank you and keep up the good work. You both should teach a master class in podcasting!!! This is the first time I felt compelled to write a podcast review!!!

    GOAT
I recommend this podcast to everyone I know. I love the academic vibe, the respect that Megan and Amy show victims, and learning more about criminology. All the episodes are well done, interesting, and help me learn something new. No podcast I have ever listened to compares to this one in terms of wanting to listen to and liking every single episode they put out. I also love their podcast series called direct appeal which is actually how I found this podcast!

If you’re not already obsessed with Women and Crime, what are you even doing with your life?
Dr. Meghan Sacks and Dr. Amy Shlosberg are the ultimate true crime dream team—brilliant, insightful, and somehow able to make even the darkest cases completely riveting without being exploitative. Their expertise in criminology adds a layer of depth you don’t get in your typical true crime podcast, and their chemistry makes it feel like you’re listening to two super-smart friends spill all the jaw-dropping details over coffee (or, let’s be honest, wine). Every episode is meticulously researched, covering cases that highlight the intersection of crime, justice, and gender, often shedding light on injustices that don’t get nearly enough attention. Whether they’re discussing wrongful convictions, complex legal battles, or the psychology behind certain crimes, they bring both professionalism and personality—making you laugh one minute and yell “HOW IS THIS EVEN LEGAL?!” the next. If you’re a true crime fan who wants more than just the usual retelling of cases, this podcast is a must. Meghan and Amy will have you hooked, horrified, and hungry for more (not in a creepy way, I promise). Five stars isn’t enough!

    My favorite podcast!
I have been listening since the beginning, way back at the start of direct appeal! I love this podcast and you ladies! The way you present each case, the cases you choose, the insight into your classroom teachings, the respect you have for the victims, the chemistry you 2 have with each other, I just can’t say enough good things. I know you’re busy but I would love another direct appeal type show where you really get into the details of a complicated case. Can’t wait to see what else there is to come! I will always be a fan <3

Megan and Amy are such great hosts, it is really interesting to hear the true crime stories from their perspectives.

    Smart
I really like this pair’s approach. The storytelling is interesting without being sensationalistic, and I often come away having learned something about the criminal justice system. I also like that these hosts are also friends. Their banter as friends is never too much, just a nice bit of color. I think the students of the hosts are very fortunate!
  • Panakara
    My favorite crime podcast
I love this podcast. Both of the host put the time in to explain these cases well. They explain the theory of why it happened as they are both criminologist. I find that part so interesting and unlike other crime podcasts I have listened to. 5 stars!!

    So insightful!
You ladies are so insightful and I just love how you continually change/learn thru your research of different cases. So many people double down on their ignorance but you ladies take change with such grace and humility! Don't change!

I like your show, but complimenting the last name of the murderer who shares the same name as the decreased through marriage is tacky at best, and insensitive at most.

I can’t find any information. I seem to think that if you subscribe you wouldn’t have advertisements anymore? Well I’m still getting them and I’ve made several attempts at contacting someone with no feedback. I’ve just requested a refund.

I used to like this show but this episode was upsetting because of the animal cruelty. The hosts must add a content warning for animal abuse. I won’t be listening anymore.

    I never write these…
The episode of the Delphi murders really made me write this. I live in that area. I love their take on this and the open minded approach. I’ve always loved listening to you ladies. I’ve listened to every episode so far and plan to keep going.

    Incorrect information
It’s hard to trust what is being said when they continue to get the facts of the cases wrong. Disappointing! Do better.
  • JessieGirl0720
    Favorite Podcast BUT
Si I just read a review that was completely inaccurate. Diane Downs DID accuse a black man of the attack/murder, so these ladies did get it correctly. I will say, this has become my favorite podcast; HOWEVER, I decided to give it a chance after hearing the Melanie McGuire case - I believe these ladies are completely manipulated by Melanie. No offense to Amy, but her argument was that she shares a similar frame to Melanie and she is not able to lift an 80 lb suitcase so due to that, there’s no way Melanie could have thrown the suitcase over. Amy, I’m not sure your workout regimen but I’m assuming you don’t do much weight lifting. I am 5’2 and weigh 110 & I can lift that much & more. I’m also a criminal investigator and I have seen tinier people lift much more. When adrenaline hits you, there’s no saying what someone can do. I just ask that they stick to facts as opposed to what they personally can do. Melanie is clearly guilty and there was more than enough damning evidence against her. With that said, that WAS my main issue. I am rating this 5 stars because they are so easy to listen to, they (aside from the Melanie case) add an educated perspective to the cases. They clearly do their research. I also became a member (or whatever you call it) to this podcast bc I truly love their work. I wanted to be fair and give my pros and cons; HOWEVER, this podcast is totally worth it and absolutely amazing.

    Fantastic find
I just stumbled on this podcast and was instantly hooked! The hosts are super knowledgeable and bring a credible, professional take on the crimes they cover. By covering female criminals they open up a whole new way of perceiving and discussing crime. I can’t get enough of this podcast and was elated to find it’s still in production.

    Amazing!!
Easily one of my favorite true crime podcasts. Amy and Megan are so thorough, knowledgeable and always well researched. I appreciate their opinions and love listening to them explain and apply different theories. As someone who doesn’t work in the criminal justice field, they do an excellent job of making sure to explain everything in a way that flows and is easy to understand.
  • MorganMessi
    Amazing and informative Content
Megan and Amy do a wonderful job sharing the details of cases while respecting all victims and their families. They analyze the crime and discuss the justice system. This review is LONG overdue, as they have been my favorite true crime podcast for years now. I was thankful enough that I found their Campus Killings podcast, which they don’t advertise about enough!!! I need alllll the Megan and Amy break downs! Love the work they do. -A listener for life, Morgan
  • Souryellowfruit
    Thoughtful and intelligent
This is different from the majority of true crime podcasts in that the hosts are highly qualified to discuss the cases - they both have masters and doctorates in relevant fields - and it shows. The episodes are interesting, discussed in a respectful way and offer insights from the criminological perspective. Drs Sacks & Shlosberg consider the criminal justice system as a whole and help the listener consider where it gets it right and where change is needed. This especially feels invaluable. They have a great dynamic and I like their narrative style. This is my new favorite podcast and I wish all true crime podcasts had such well spoken, intelligent hosts.

    Great Podcast
Cannot say enough good things about your podcast. It’s well researched, with two professionals who show respect and care to how they share a story and I’ve learned a thing or two about our laws and the imbalance present in some of those laws. Thank you for bribing stories that need to be shared with a perspective that goes beyond your profession showing your understanding on the need to tell the stories the way your podcast does.
  • RMCarmona
    My new favorite podcast
I cannot say enough good things about this podcast. It is so fascinating to hear these true crime cases from the perspective of two educators in the field, and listening to them scratches an itch in my brain. I love how the listening host doesn’t just say “wow”, or “awww”; rather they actually ask smart and engaging questions while the other host is telling the case. This is one of the only podcasts where I actually listen through the ads to support the hosts. 10/10 recommend, no notes. 👌🏻
  • AMG1027
    Have some interesting stories
The hosts find some stories that are interesting and I’ve never heard before. But, one host acts like a know-it-all and often negates the ideas and thoughts of the other host. This isn’t my field, but the show would be so much better if they just told the stories and briefly adding their opinions.
  • Kalena!
Well researched and truly compelling true crime
I am so impressed with these two women who are thoughtful and compassionate and academic criminologists. They consider intersectionality in their overall analysis of each of these crimes and their coverage is very holistic and profound. They don’t sensationalize the cases or dwell on the violence but rather deconstruct each of the cases, share theories, and look at external influences that impact both the victims, and in some cases the actions of the perpetrators. They also aim to name all the victims decoupling their cases from epithets or popular headlines. Given SO many of the victims in true crime are women and often killed by their abusers, this podcast highlights this fact, as well as covers women who perpetrate crimes, going deep into the “why.” Great podcast!
  • alilizlou
    Good show.
I love this show. Hearing them talk about women from all aspects of crime. The victim, survivors, the trailblazers, and the perpetrators. The stories are very heartfelt and shed light on lesser known stories. It’s nice to hear the theories and try to understand why. I do wish when they cover stories about survivors and chose to read their statements they read the whole statement. I’d rather hear that then the theories. It’s the least we can do since we’re sharing their stories we should hear their statements. The differences in when Megan is telling a story to Amy and when Amy is telling it to Megan is interesting. Sometimes it just irks me so much.

    3rd review
I’ve given women and crime 5 stars since I started listening to amy and Meghan years ago. I’ve never missed an episode! Not only are there stories always intriguing, their knowledge on the justice system keeps me coming back for more!

    Great Podcast
The ladies speak well and are well educated on the topics. I enjoy pod casts where the pod casters don’t spend a lot of time talking about their personal lives and these ladies don’t. They stuck to the story.

I look forward to your show every week and you’re my favorite true crime gals! Love hearing your theories and expertise. Ps- those one star reviews are freakin hilarious and rediculous !! Loved hearing you share them on the show 😂🤪
