    Precious
This resource is an answer to my cry for Truth - a blend of living water, song and prayer.

    Drama must end
It is impossible to listen to the scriptures being read on this podcast, as the speaker is intentionally trying to add melodrama to his voice, on the false assumption that somehow, if we dramatize the sound of reading scripture by reading, it varies slowly and intentionally somehow it will then have more impact upon the listener. This is garbage theology.Chad Bird says nothing actually has commentary on each song. Nothing is added. Again just more melodrama.

God’s Word was meant to be heard!
And the Psalms were meant to be sung! The devotional thoughts by Chad Bird are engaging and uplifting. The music is wonderful!

    Inspiring and encouraging
This is one of the best podcasts on the meditations of the psalms. The word read, the word expounded upon and the beauty of worship in it all. Please don’t stop.

    Grateful
I want to give thanks to Chad Bird and to 1517 as a whole! I listen to these devotions daily in the morning and it is a beautiful way to start your day! As we go out into the world as Christians we have to be reminded that we are “in this world but not of this world” and with the help of these talented individuals that help remind us of the “hope we have within us” I am grateful to have stumbled upon this podcast and others within the network! Blessings, Ryan L.

My daily worship on the drive to work
Just became so much more meaningful. Thank you Chad Bird for your incredible commentary on each psalm. Thank you to the artists who write the beautiful lyrical renditions of the psalms. Each song is unique and each artist is so talented. If they were available for download I would listen to them in place of secular music. This is truly the creativity of our Lord on display!! 5 stars!!

    Gospel centered inspiration
A fine devotional averaging about 15 minutes. Includes a psalm, interpretation and application, and a lyrical adaptation of the psalm. All components are well done, high quality.

    God is good.
This podcast is an answer to a prayer. What a genuine and unique show whose goal feels absolutely driven by the love of God. I was led to my favorite chapter of Psalms, Ps 55, and in so searching, I was led to this podcast. Indeed it is a time where all seems lost to me. God speaks to us in many ways. Thanks for creating a vehicle where I can, even in this modern medium, be reminded that god listens. I can’t wait for season 2.

    My morning quiet time
This podcast has been such a blessing to me. I learn, meditate and pray while I listen to it. Beautiful music/songs. This podcast makes me imagine my self seating next to David or Moses as they write psalms. I love it!

    Nourishment for the soul
Life these days can be busy. Our schedules are full. This is a pause that we all need in our lives. I am always deeply moved and very relaxed after an episode. Further more, my inner spirit is drawn to worship and be still. Lastly, the Hebrew insight from Chad gives a perspective I on my own would not see. Thanks! God bless

    Perfect Christian Meditation
When I need to be still and know He is God, I have found these succinct, Scriptural, podcasts to be the best fodder for preparing my heart for what is next. Thank you for providing this material to the masses, and I hope you make more!

    Love these!
Sometimes I think the background music could be a bit softer so we could hear the speaker more clearly. I also love the woman’s voice that introduces the Psalm. I’d love if she read one!
  • Dad Gibney
    I love this!
The music, the reading and the commentary is comforting and confirming to our faith. In the midst of our suffering, he gives us grace even when we face the grave!

    Great Podcast, Great Network
I found 1517 a few years ago through a recommendation for the Thinking Fellows podcast, and from there I have gone through almost all of the podcasts on this network and backlogging through them to get all of the wonderful content that they have put out. I graduated from a Lutheran institution a few years ago and was a bit burnt out on my faith, but I can honestly say that these podcasts have been the main reason why my faith has been revitalized and has become even stronger these past few years. I have found myself being reintroduced to topics I learned in my schooling as well as hearing new views and opinions about Lutheranism as well as Christianity in general, which has been super helpful in expanding my view on my faith and how I approach my faith in a practical way. They have a wide range of topics that are covered as well as a good variety that allows you to find something good to listen to no matter your background or knowledge base in theology. Definitely do yourself a favor and listen to some of the other podcasts on this network if you haven’t yet.

    Different and great
The idea behind the content of this podcast is different from others I've heard, and I wasn't sure how much I would go for it. I can now say that assembling the Scripture, message and song has brought me peace in unexpected ways. I will certainly be recommending this podcast to others.

    Psalm 22
I listened to Hidden Streams presentation of Psalm 22. I know Pastor Killion and Mr. Chad Bird well. I found the Scripture reading and instruction afterwards well done. For me, the music played was distracting. However, the music before and after were pleasantly received. Thank you for Hidden Streams.

    Beautiful scripture and music!
What an amazing podcast! The Psalms are read poetically and we get a deeper look into them afterwards. Then amazing music with the words of scripture wrap it up. Perfect for the car ride to work in the mornings!

    I’m really liking it
I wasn’t sure about this new podcast. I wasn’t, but I am now. This is really, really good. The Psalms are wonderfully read. The reflection on it flows so nicely - doesn’t feel overworked - very conversational. And the music in the background and at the end simply works beautifully. Well done.
