I found myself truly enjoying and appreciating the hosts’ commentary who brought their own sense of humor and empathy towards the author’s work. Love listening to these episodes with nuanced analysis and appreciation of the characters and events. The one side note to the hosts I would add is that I believe the author derived the names of the monsters from Romance and Slavic languages and mythology. For example, Striga sounds awfully like “Strega”, the Italian for “witch” and Bruxa sounds similar to “Bruja” in Spanish, also, Kikimora comes from Slavic mythology very commonly used in Russian mythology and the Russian language.

Was looking for Baptism of Fire chat and this hit the spot! I can thank these guys for diving deep and making me laugh.

This was an excellent recap companion to each Aitcher novel. The enthusiasm and comedic timing keeps the listener engaged through long episodes. I hated the mispronunciation of Geralt’s name, though. I yell “It’s GERALT!” At least 45 times per episode. They pronounce it “Gurrault.” 😒

Looks like I’m late to the party. I just finished the books and found this podcast. There is so much information to take in and this podcast covers all of it. Highly recommend for anyone not ready to leave the Witcher world!!!

As someone who just finished reading the books a few months ago, this podcast is an absolute blast. It’s one of the most enjoyable book podcasts I’ve listened to. The hosts have great chemistry and are really funny, and their passion for these books and the characters as they read through the series for the first time is palpable. They talk about the books and their feelings on the plot in great detail, and they even helped me appreciate the series even more than I already did. It’s been over a year now since the last episode, but I really hope they come back for Lady of the Lake.

Simply phenomenal!!! These two talk about the book series in the order They should have been read. They talk about the story and the Witcher Universe so that someone who has never read the books or played the games can follow along. Highly recommend it. Especially if you’ve never read the books. I’ve read them all and these really break it down so can follow along.

This podcast is awesome. I love the detail the hosts go into while discussing the books. They both seem to really appreciate the authors world that he’s created. Jason and Ross do a wonderful job covering the series! Can’t wait for them to discuss the Netflix series!

Hi guys, loved the first Witcher book club podcast. I am a big fan of Witcher 3 and now the Netflix series. I’ve been considering checking out the books and thanks to this podcast I think I will. I could swear I heard a lighter and bubbles in the background at one point LOL

Very insightful. I haven’t read any of the stories, only seen the Netflix show but these guys give a great background on The Witcher world. I hope they do podcasts on the show.

I read The Witcher books last year and listening to this podcast where Jason and Ross tackle all the books in order is a delight! Their joy for the material is infectious. They illuminate details I’ve forgotten about or missed in my first readings and offer insights to the characters that deepen the story for me. If you love these books, or are just diving into them for the first time, this is a fun companion to keep you immersed in the world of the Witcher.
