I was a longtime listener and truly enjoyed this podcast—until the host started injecting political rhetoric into nearly every episode. Obviously, I stopped listening, but I still missed it and hoped things had improved. Today, I checked the reviews to see if anything had changed, and it’s clear that it hasn’t. Nearly all recent reviews are one-star, calling out the same issues: politics taking over the content and an exhausting, never-ending focus on the Diddy scandal. Good lord, is anyone reading these? Just gonna keep recording trash episodes and shooting yourself in the foot when it comes to welcoming new followers, oh and alienating existing ones. Oooooof.

Asked all Trump voters to unfollow. No problem! How you treat people with differing political views is not a consequence of their values. It’s a reflection of yours.

I used to love this podcast until she spent two months dragging out the Corbett case and loading it with filler and now she’s spent two and a half months dragging out Diddy. If we wanted a long-form podcast that covers one story for an extended period, we would’ve picked one. Really lazy, embarrassing and inconsiderate on her part to do this to loyal listeners.

This was once a podcast I loved to listen to. It seems that here lately all they care about is politics. Unsubscribed

Heather your podcast is 1 of 2 of my only 2 favorites I regularly listen to. So it has been extremely sad to not have been able to now listen to you for months as I don’t want to hear anything about Diddy let alone 13 episodes or whatever number it’s on. I understand some are totally interested and I wouldn’t expect no episodes on this topic but this for me is just too much. I was paying each month so I wouldn’t have to listen to commercials and to get bonus episodes but what is the point. I cancelled it. I’m not sure when I will start it back up cause this is just insane. You are amazing at what you do and get your emotions into telling the victims story. I would hope by now most people know Diddy is nothing but trash!

When your audience is OVER one particular topic, maybe it’s time to move on?? The disappointment week in and week out to see another episode on Diddy…. It’s enough to make a Big Fan of Big Mad unfollow!

I really liked the emotions the host placed into telling the victim’s stories. It wasn’t monotone. However I haven’t listened to not even one Diddy file. Can you cover Chantell Gardner who left her babies in the house alone while she was with her boyfriend in Indianapolis? Or something else other than Diddy?

I loved your podcast before you seemingly became podcast on Diddy. You lost me at that point. I especially liked the time when you didn’t pre-write the story and just went from your notes. Seemed much more natural.

I absolutely LOVE hanging out with you, Heather. That’s why I am so upset. I even considered rating low stars, but I love you too much to do that. All I am asking is Please-Please-PLEASE cover something other than diddy. There’s a case I would love to hear that happened a couple years ago around my hometown, but would settle for any other case over diddy. Please come back! I miss hanging out with you.

I kept coming back every week to see if she was done with her Diddy files. And every week it was “Diddy Files 9” “Diddy Files 10” and now “Diddy Files 11” CRINGE. I haven’t even listened to one because this whole case will be a documentary soon (I’m sure) & she is just dragging it out. Not here for it.

Love this show I listen to every show. But. This daddy thing needs to end. I love the lesser known stories. You can find dozens of podcasts covering the big story but 3 months of the same story is too much for me.

I am trying to understand WHY has EVERY single episode since November 17th been about DIDDY!!!! PLEASE KNOW I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO INTEREST AT ALL. After being patient for more than a month, and the DIDDY story continued, so I had no other option other than cancel my subscription. I love Heather Ashley, how she tells the stories, how she honors the victims and of course her heatherisms. The podcast got me through a 2 hour flight delay and a long drive home. Also, Heathers threads are a chefs kiss! Thank you for all you do!

This used to be my favorite podcast. But you have been so disrespectful to people. I don’t care about your views. I care how you talk to people. I bet in the future this will affect who will want to work with you as you aren’t mature enough to speak on things without being a total jerk. Also, stop the up talk at the end of EVERY SENTENCE. Just speak like an adult.

I hate to be this person and I don’t wanna sound like I’m insulting the host because she’s amazing. She truly cares about the victims and all that I just can’t listen to more than one episode at a time because I can’t get over the fact that she narrates using the same tone of voice as a news broadcaster and I feel like I’m listening to the news. I just wish she would personalize it a little bit more to sometimes it sounds like she’s reading straight off of a piece of paper just fax and. No personal to it in I personally I’m just peeved already by new anchors and the way that they talk and it just sounds too similar to me

I just wanted to commend you on your coverage of the “Diddy saga”. I don’t write reviews, or think anybody really cares at all what my opinion of a podcast is but when I heard you participating in so-called “small talk” I knew that it must have been something you felt very passionate about and when I heard that someone threatened to unsubscribe if you continued your coverage, I was appalled. I think that you have one of the most ethical podcasts and you absolutely should not change a thing. Your comments about true crime, not being entertainment gave me a completely new outlook on my favorite past time and although I’ve never seen true crime as entertainment I also have never thought about other people treating it that way. Shame on anyone who would try to make you feel bad for having conviction. We could all take a lesson from you in that subject. So you keep doing you girl because you do it so well!

If you are woke and like one sided presentations of crime stories, this podcast is for you! Also, commercial blocks every 10 minutes is supremely annoying.

I had to unsubscribe. In my opinion the diddy files are OVERLY dragged out & it’s been since late Nov/ early Dec of ‘24 mind you he hasn’t even been officially sentenced yet …I honestly feel like your taking up space for other more important stories to be heard

It's been over 2 months with nothing but Diddy content. It's overkill.

Ok I actually do really like this podcast but the episodes are so short. I personally don’t like that it’s only 20 mins of content each week. It’s hard to get back into the storyline within that short bracket. I do love the host and her story telling style and commentary so naturally want more!

Update: if you want to do a 10+ part series, you should have made a separate podcast for it. It makes no sense to do it on this platform, where you’ve been regularly doing maybe 2part or less episodes the whole time, save a few. A separate podcast would have been better for everyone involved; those who love the topic can listen, those who don’t can stay here. I like the content, but the number of ads/ad breaks in this 30 minute show is a lot. I listen in the car, and I just feel like I’m listening to more ads than content at this point. However, the host is passionate about her content and seems to put a lot of work and effort into her research. Covers mostly recent cases, which I appreciate as well.

I love this podcast. I love how straight up you are. But my god, 3/4 of the episode is ads! There’s like 13 minutes of actual story here.

Really liked the show until all the Diddy stuff. Will be canceling my subscription because I stopped listening after the second Diddy episode.

I really used to love this podcast and am a patreon subscriber, but over the last year or so it seems it has become very radicalized and its off putting. I unfollowed the social media pages awhile ago due to all the politics but it seems its becoming more prevalent in the podcast itself and I am not a fan. I have enjoyed the diddy deep dives and appreciate how thorough Heather is.

Diddy’s going down, and so is Heather because no one cares to hear about Diddy.

As much as I love this podcast, you’ve covered nothing except the Diddy case since November of last year. It’s getting super old. If I wanted to listen to a podcast that was only about that, I would find one. Seriously considering unsubscribing since it’s been months since you’ve posted any worthwhile content

Enough with the Diddy episodes! I used to love this podcast and will give a five star rating if Heather gets back to covering other stories.

I would give 100 stars if I could. We need more people like Heather! She is not afraid to speak her mind and be a voice for victims. She unapologetically speaks out against monsters and will not be bullied into being quiet. Keep using your platform and your voice Heather victims need you to speak for them!

I used to like it! You spend way too much time on Diddy. So many people are begging you to stop. Yet you continue. It’s horrible. Your listeners support you and you won’t take their advice. You do this for yourself only. You’re very very selfish. Your voice and the way you talk is annoying to say the least. Move on and I’m moving on too. Get a new hobby this isn’t it

I had to edit my first review since I no longer feel like this is a 5 star podcast. I loved when this podcast was about true crime and just that. It’s now weirdly political and very polarizing if you have any other view that strays from the host. I understand that Heather doesn’t care about what the fans views are, and I can respect that for her. I’m just no longer interested in feeling like a bad person for my beliefs because they aren’t the same as hers.
