I found this show about a year ago and have torn through the back episodes as fast as I can. I appreciate that he discusses cards without money or profit being the focus. As a collector of 30+ years, it’s great to hear somebody who focuses on enjoying more than profiting from the hobby.

This show is from a collector for collectors. He does talk about investments, but he is primarily a collector, which I love. I listen every week and you should too!

In an era where too much focus is placed on ROI, investing and treating cards like stocks, Ryan shifts the focus back to collecting cards based on players, teams, scarcity, and the history of the game. Insightful takes on specific cards and players mixed with great interviews both in the hobby and from legends of the game. I lol forward to listening to this podcast every Thursday. Kyle is a true student of the game.

Incredibly informative and interesting topics. Would have given 5 stars, but my biggest podcast pet peeve is creators that smack their lips. You can’t not notice it once you hear it.

I’ve always been looking for a good sports card podcast that has a mix of hobby news and collection updates that makes collecting more fun for me. This podcast does that, and is my favorite podcast about the hobby. Keep up the great work Kyle!

In listen to a lot of sports card podcast and this is a top 3 for sure. I’m not even a big basketball collector but I’m gaining interest listening to Kyle and the stories.

Yes, this hobby is blowing up… a new podcast comes out weekly but Kyle is one of a very small number who focuses on the cards. His interest lies in the history of the hobby and game while tracking and investigating of hobby shenanigans is good for the hobby. He brings informed takes and he has a gaggle of interesting people he brings onto his show from time to time to provide differing opinions. He seems to value discussion and interested in the health of this hobby beyond “new money”. Again, he’s good for this hobby and you should be listening. ~Dep

Amazing podcast! Listen on my way home from work every Wednesday or Thursday evening. Kyle is very knowledgeable about the hobby and puts a lot of time and effort into his research for the show and it’s evident. Would recommend to anyone who has interest in the hobby from the 50 year veteran to the newest collector!

This was such a great episode. Can’t beat having someone on that has essentially been around for the entirety of professional basketball. He shared some great stories!

Finding Wax Museum definitely enabled me to get much more enjoyment out of the Hobby. Kyle’s advice to “collect what you like“ is a perfect perspective for old and new collectors. Grateful for the content he produces on a regular basis.

Really enjoy this podcast, as it doesnt focus on "investing" but rather factors that influence the hobby. Kyle's insights have helped me avoid "fads" in the market and it is refreshing to have someone talk about the hobby as a passion rather than a monied endeavor.

Just started listening about a month ago. The amount of knowledge Kyle has is fantastic! I learn something new in every episode. Gives an honest and realistic take on card collecting!!!

Kyle has a great approach to the basketball hobby and does well with his historical approach. Sometimes I wish he would stop knocking the investor driven content creators on YouTube and Podcast streaming.

Kyle has developed a podcast that is educational; informative, and entertaining. Each episode is targeted and remains on topic. Kyle is a true collector, and that passion resonates through every episode. I agree with some of his takes, and disagree with others, but his takes are always based in data or non-biased observations. I also truly appreciate the opportunity to interact with Kyle through social media to continue the discussions he starts with each episode. It’s incredible how Kyle puts out such a consistently quality show. The work he puts in before hitting record is evident. His looks back at basketball card collecting history is comprehensive, and his takes on current products and market forces are insightful and knowledgable. He comes at things from a collector’s perspective, knows a good deal about the high-end market, and is relatable to anyone who collects basketball cards at any level.

Stop bashing people

My title is the same as the first sentence in another review. The host is knowledgeable the presentation is quick and paced well -no fluff. Just great content and most of the episodes are timeless which is wonderful. I’ve learned a lot and I have listened to tons of sport card podcasts. If you love basketball and trading cards you have to listen to this podcast! Keep up the great work!

Best basketball card podcast period. No false information or sleezy manipulating the market vibes here. This is for the enthusiasts, not so much the “investors” (but there’s key info to help investors as well). Info on past episodes doesn’t come off as “dated” because there’s card history lessons in most of them. Worth going back to listen to all the episodes.

Best podcast in the card collecting hobby. No one appreciates basketball cards and appreciates the history and hold more than Kyle, the host of this podcast. Each episode is well produced, keeping the narrative and discussion tight to an easy and informative 30 minutes or so on average. This guy loves the cards and is a true collector. He also is a person of high value— he praises transparency and facts and wants to clean up the hobby from scammers. He combines investigative analysis and deep, deep research to make his points and call the scammers out. But he also is a huge fan of the game and loves talking about basketball. Kyle has really done a fantastic job of bringing folks up to speed with the current state of the hobby, with a concentration on basketball. Well known on the hobby forums, Kyle offers a refreshing perspective, and isn’t afraid to discuss the taboo subjects like manipulation, PWCC fraud, trimming, fakes etc. Panini isn’t paying him, nor does a slimy consignor, or wannabe. I look forward to each episode he’s able to produce. Take note you guys pushing agendas, and who babble hours of nonsense and cherry picked stats. This is how it’s done!

The Wax Museum podcast is a great listen for someone who enjoys collecting basketball cards and the history of the sport. The host does an excellent job of merging the two. He provides well researched insights on the sports card industry, including current and historical trends. For myself, someone recently re-entering the hobby, it has been a useful tool in understanding the current state of the hobby and a reminder of the nostalgia that brought me back in the first place.
