WD-FM: The Official Walt Disney Family Museum Podcast

53

The Walt Disney Family Museum is a center for art, animation, and inspiration. Located in the historic Presidio, a national park in San Francisco, California, the museum celebrates the remarkable life of Walt Disney by telling his story, celebrating his legacy, and examining his influence on the world of entertainment. Ten years ago, we were founded in 2009 by Walt Disney’s daughter, Diane Disney Miller, who wanted to share the story of her father with the world. Now, we are hosting a year-long celebration to mark the museum’s tenth anniversary. In recognition of the museum’s history, and in order to honor the man behind the magic, this podcast will be an extension of that celebration. Join for stories and conversations about the remarkable life and legacy of Walt Disney as we reflect on The Walt Disney Family Museum's first decade as an institution.

    More to come I hope!
Podcasts are one of the few ways I get to hear of the stories and life and ideas behind Walt! Besides the books I’ve read, I love learning about the man and the family!! I love this podcast! Thank you for providing this insight!!

    Vocal fry...WOW
It takes you out of the podcast. Sad because the Disney info and Walt’s excerpts are great. But the exaggerated vocal fry is just the worst. The young guy that originally hosted didn’t have that distracting vocal fry. Tough listen.

    Something special
This podcast is essential listening for any true Disney buff. Hopefully the new episodes will start be as long as the older ones! I’m hoping the episodes will be more frequent and longer! We need more 😊

    Great Content • Poor Production/Narration
The episodes have great information and wonderful original audio clips. I’ll keep listening for that. I’m sure the two hosts are very nice people, but delivery is really rough (lots of mispronunciations and unnatural sounding dialogue between them, microphone quality is pretty bad and the recording space is not treated for sound).

    Great Content, Poor Production
There is some excellent content in this podcast, with some rare audio clips of Walt. Unfortunately, the narrators delivery is tough on the ears (vocal fry) and a bit rote. I would expect slightly better production quality considering the association with the WDFM.

    Vocal Fry
I was really excited to find an official podcast from the museum. The vocal fry from the hosts is just too much. It makes listening really rough. If vocal fry doesn’t bother you, have at it. I couldn’t get through it.

    History and Disney
Love this podcast because it brings together 2 of my favorites. History and Disney! The actual oral history clips of Walt and others is an added bonus! Can’t wait to get to San Fran sometime to see the museum. Thanks for a great podcast! “Do what you do so well that they will want to see it again and bring their friends” -Walt Disney

    Great to see WDFM back!
It’s wonderful to see that the Walt Disney Family Museum has returned to the podcast world. This series is a must-listen for Walt fans. The episodes echo the displays in the museum and provide a fun reminder for those who’ve visited it in the past and a taste of what to expect for those who have yet to set foot in the museum. My favorite part, though, is the fact that they frequently use interview recordings of Walt, his daughter and museum cofounder Diane Disney Miller, and others. The hosts have a way of making the listener feel welcome, and the episodes are relatively brief. Great job, everyone!
