Deep, applicable, well done , must listen!
This podcast is for improving your relationship even if it’s already the best you think it could be! Kayla shares her thoughts and advice even better than her mentor Brooke Castillo! Kayla’s lessons are so relevant to all relationships and are not just pertinent to marriage, and her examples speak to me especially as a Frum woman. Working on your own middos, understanding your own goals and true desires, navigating in laws, appreciating what we already have, and reframing our subjective realtors to allow for more blessing and understanding are just a few of the pearls of wisdom shared by Kayla. Instinctively I wanted to skip half of the podcasts because the titles didn’t seem relevant to me, but I learn from each podcast and derive inspiration and motivation to improve myself as a wife, mom, daughter, sister and friend. I want to be the best version of me, and now is the best time to do that. Kayla speaks in an easy and gentle way that makes for a great listen while cooking and driving, and she shares deep ideas and personal reflections all without really using fillers such as “um” and “like” that can make it annoying to listen to (other) people. Thank you Kayla!!!!

    So much positivity!
I’m halfway through season 1 and I already feel like I am beginning to change my attitude towards my marriage and towards life in general. Kayla’s clear and down to earth advice is helping me “show up” at home and at work as a more authentic and aware version of myself. I can’t wait to keep working, keep growing, and keep listening!

Binge worthy podcast full of easy to use tips to take your brain from chaos to calm in seconds! ❤️
Stumbled upon this podcast weeks after I got married. I was overwhelmed feeling the need to check all the boxes of “new wife”. Kayla’s podcast quickly made me realize I’m not alone in my thoughts and feelings of overwhelm but also helped me tackle those feelings. She breaks down practical solutions to things like schedules, meal prep, and all the things you need to know even if you just got married. In fact because you just got married you need this!!! . This podcast has been a game changer, so thank you!

    Better than other marriage podcasts!
I started (binge) listening to this a few weeks before my husband and I got married and it’s by far my favorite! I tried others hosted by couples and I just didn’t love how conversational and non-scientific they were...Kayla is so good at explaining WHY we think and feel and act the way we do and that intrigues me and keeps me listening. Once you understand WHY you and your spouse do the things you do it’s easier to adjust or improve. The mental model is something I think I always knew but she put it out there and made it a real thing and now I find myself using it all the time. I even got my new husband to listen to a few on a long drive and he liked it too. Thank you Kayla! Keep them coming please!

    Total game changer!
I love this podcast! I have noticed such a change in the way I think about my relationship (and think about thinking about my relationship). I wish this podcast existed during my first year married, but it’s helpful even in my fifth. Kayla explains thought work in such an accessible way. I have found every episode to be incredibly relatable. Highly, highly recommend!

    Validation in every episode!!
Kayla is so knowledgeable about the issues and anxieties that come up in the first year (and beyond!) of marriage. She approaches each topic sensitively and conveys validation and empowerment through her kind words and suggestions. Her thought work and practical skills have helped me reframe so many situations and allow me to live a more self aware and free life!

The opposite of what I was looking for!
As a newlywed I feel like one of my biggest struggles is the burden of unpaid care work, or the so-called “second shift” of keeping the house and our relationship running that seems to usually (but not always) fall on cis-het women. The “advice” in this podcast is filled with tips and tricks on how to manage your calendar down to the minute so you can have “alone time” to do things like budget and laundry, and is filled with honestly sad asides on how the podcaster is tired from being up with the baby but presumably, (because it is not mentioned) her husband is resting easy. I’m sure this is the right podcast if you want to fit into the mold of a 1950s housewife, but for me this was less about the things I value and want to do better in my relationship, like clear communication and shared responsibility.

I took Kayla’s First Year Married class and absolutely loved it! She gives so many practical things in the class and in this podcast that we can do every day to completely change the course of the day. This not only changed my marriage but lots of other things in life as well. I love listening to the podcast to be reminded how I am completely in control of my own emotions and my outlook on life.
