    Best Fly-Fishing Podcast Out There
It’s remarkable how much information Matthew manages to fit into a relatively short podcast and how well he communicates it. I discovered Casting Across as I began to take fly-fishing seriously and found it tremendously helpful; as I’ve become more experienced and (hopefully) more proficient, it still remains my go-to source for tips, techniques, and inspiration. Matthew’s world-view, however, in addition to his emphasis on the culture of the sport, are what really distinguish Casting Across from other excellent podcasts, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

    Great podcast
Mathew Thank you for your time in putting together your podcast I discovered it a few weeks ago and have listened to almost all Very informative and entertaining I don’t know if it is a trait but many year’s ago I had a friend who was mad about fly fishing especially with bamboo rods and bird hunting with small side by side shotguns who was also a Methodist minister Conversations with him ( that taught me so much about fly fishing and life) reminds me much of the way you come across I’m not a fan of all fly fishing podcasts (I tend to to severely curate my selections but I and a fan of yours and also Tailer Trash Fly Fishing quite a wide spectrum but based on the honesty desire to improve the community I’m in FL so I only get to fish trout in the summer back home in Montana but you speak to fly fishing as a whole Well thats long enough Thank you again Joe Gilmartin

    Every episode is a gem
I’ve binged probably half of the episodes in the last three months, they are all great. A mix of educational fly fishing topics but also gear reviews and suggestions for other fly fishing podcasts and resources to check out. Matthew won’t steer you wrong

    Solid Listen for Fly Fishers
One of the best fly fishing podcasts. Love the professionalism, content, structure and consistency of it. I look forward to every episode and listening puts my mind on the water when I am at home raising the small kids, plotting my next escape to explore and fish.

The only solo fly fishing show I know of
I think Casting Across might be the only solo fly fishing show. If not, it’s one of the only ones. It’s a nice change of pace. Matthew talks a lot about easily overlooked aspects of fishing and it’s always great food for thought.

    Always something interesting!
I always learn something new and interesting about fishing, fish, or just being outdoors. The episodes are a perfect length too. My favorite podcast for when I’m driving to the stream at the end of a week.

    Great fly fishing content!
Listen if you would like gaining perspective on all aspects of the sport of fly fishing-tips, gear, trips and the “industry “. Only suggestion to Matt would be bump up the recording level. It seams low compared to other podcasts I enjoy. Thank you, Matt, for listening and correcting the volume levels. Much better now!

    Easy listen
Great blog and podcast. Even though its not specifically geared toward beginners, as a beginner, I'm getting a lot out of it.

    Fantastic!
I've enjoyed Matthew's blog very much and now enjoy his podcast. Matthew is very well-articulated and like his blog, his podcast covers a wide range of fly fishing topics. I've enjoyed the episodes thus far and look forward to more!

    Shenandoah episode
Excellent content and review of a dynamic fishery located in the heart of the mid Atlantic. While I want to be selfish and keep these rivers and streams to myself it is beauty that should be shared by all. Please remember to pack out what you pack in and go the extra mile to pick up trash left by others. It will be interesting to see how the high water events of 2018 have helped or hurt the spawn. My guess is brookies will be thriving but bass will be down the next few years.
