~Alli M.~So obsessed with the show that I hired Jess as my coachI tell every professional woman I know how much I love this show. It’s a career podcast that speaks not just to behaviors, but mindset, diving into whatever fear or insecurity is holding you back from putting yourself up for promotion or speaking up in meetings or whatever, and then helping you learn to overcome it. Jess’s insights and metaphors are lightyears ahead of the standard advice you hear in other career podcasts; I wouldn’t be surprised if this show became one of the world’s most popular career podcasts in the next few years.

whitneydwThis is IT!If you are looking for a podcast that motivates and educates without talking down to you like many “female empowerment” shows do- GIRL, this is it! I wish I knew about this show when I started corporate years ago and needed that push to stand up for myself so I could move up in my company. You just earned a new subscriber!
-
MooseforsaleRelatable and inspiring, the best confidence booster!I love listening to the Art of Speaking Up! So many of the topics Jess covers especially self-doubt and imposter syndrome resonates with me. I’ve been working for several years now and I am becoming more confident but still have those moments of doubt that creep in. But when I’m having those moments, I throw on this podcast on my drive home and always feel much better. I love how vulnerable and open she is as well as the women she interviews. It makes me feel like I’m not the only one who still has insecurities. Even when women are extremely successful, they still sometimes struggle and it inspires me to not give up or be so hard on myself. Thanks Jess for all you do! Keep it up!! 😄❤️💪🏼

CharnicoleWhat I’ve been looking forThis is the podcast for any woman who has ever not felt like enough at work. Thank you for the relatability, real conversations and the great advice.
-
balbinderbExcellent podcastI absolutely love this podcast. I feel like Jess is talking about me when she is speaking about her experiences! It is such an honest and helpful account of women in the workplace.I especially love the analogies she uses and actually enjoy her solo episodes more than the interviews because I think she has so many great nuggets of information to share. I have experienced a lot of the things Jess talks about. Thank you Jess!!!

music/makes/me/happy:)Empowering and powerfulThis podcast is the perfect antidote for a day when you need to pump yourself up to edit your resume or get encouraged when you’re downtrodden by the amount of mansplaining in your life. It’s abundantly clear how much Jessica cares about empowering women in the workplace and you can feel that energy and passion in every episode!
-
Ahmed, SumaiyaThank you, Jessica! The Art of Speaking Up brims with insight about navigating workplaces and the roads we create in our minds. Jessica gives practical guidance on challenges that may feel difficult to define and therefore difficult to overcome. I admire Jessica’s intuitive and methodical approach. Jessica meets me where I am and shows me, step by step, how to acknowledge the self-doubt and shakiness that I am going through and how to move through these mental patterns and create new, more positive and affirming mental pathways so that I can focus on creating, building relationships, and stepping forward.

Kellyw1127You are amazingThank you Jessica! I am in a new role and trying to find my voice at work. Your Podcasts have been extremely helpful and I really enjoy listening in.

Courtann86I’m not the only oneBefore finding this podcast I felt like I was the only one that had low confidence in myself when speaking up. As a matter of fact I never spoke up in a large group, never asked questions in a large group and never ever advocated for myself. I had this mindset “I should just be lucky to have what I do have and never ask for anything in return”. My boyfriend that loves and cares about me so much showed me that I was wrong and it gave me a new way of thinking. I came across The Art Of Speaking Up my complete accident and I am so thrilled that I found it. It has given me the confidence to overcome some of the obstacles that I once had. I am still learning more and have a long road ahead, but I know one day I will achieve and overcome all my insecurities!

cedar wJust what I needed.I am in my late 30s and kind of a late bloomer, and although have found confidence in public speaking to even large groups of people, I have felt very isolated in a new position in local government. Love my job but was feeling seriously depressed about who I was working with, and really struggling to speak up when I am often the only one with a particular viewpoint. This has really helped me start to bounce back after a dark time. I will definitely be recommending to all of my women friends! Thank you!
-
QueerMamaRisingThank you!I found this podcast while looking for a way to help me figure out how to show up more for my work after having my daughter. Not only have I picked up some techniques and tips, I’m learning to talk to myself better. And I’ve found more inspiration for my creative side; I’m working on an embroidery panel of a quote that has stuck with me - “you’re here to learn, kiddo.” There have been other inspirations for artistic work, too, so it’s been amazing to find all these different ideas for writing and stitching AND work all in one spot. I’m so thrilled to find it!
-
NC_galWonderful findI found this podcast somewhat by accident, but it has been inspirational and quite helpful. Many of the stories fit my situation and the specific tips and strategies have made a difference already (just started listening a couple weeks ago). The format and style are also very engaging and warm. Thank you to the creator/ host of this show!!

VictoriaMikasaReal-life accounts and practical solutionsI like listening to the interviews along with her real-life accounts. I walk away with reminders, new information, and practical solutions or tools to help me work through whatever is going on in my life at the time. Each time I listen to an episode, it’s always in good timing. Thanks Jess!

"expendable assistant"You will NOT be disappointedI’m a young (24) professional woman. I’ve taken on one of the biggest milestones of my career and professional development over the last year. I had many hurdles along the way with speaking up about how I’ve felt and feeling appreciated. Listening to Jess made me realize that I’m NOT the only one. There’s so many people out there who have/are experiencing my same struggles. She has given me so much advice on my professional development that I can use in the workplace and in my personal life. She is amazing and I appreciate her podcast because she lifts me up most days where I want to just cry on my way home. Instead I’m crying out of joy for how I can make tomorrow BETTER! Thank you Jess!!!

sarroyo1991Confidence Booster! Big Time Motivator! This podcast has become somewhat of a therapeutic relief for myself whenever I am stressed or freaking out at work. I recently have been dealing with so many of the emotions discussed in the various episodes form imposter syndrome to navigating a male dominated work field so hearing from others and their advice is amazing. I have found myself doing, subconsciously, the advice some of these great mentors have offered and have fed noticed my confidence grow within my role. My mentor has noticed as well and let me tell you my career is about to take off in ways I cannot even believe. All at the age of 28. The scariest thing is I alway thought myself as someone who spoke up so seeing just how “quiet” I actually was has definitely been an eye opening experience. Stop reading and start listening already!!

DldoouhngnhymuValuable podcast for self evaluation and growthRecently I decided to spend my summer break (I’m a teacher) working on me and the areas I have become aware of that need to be looked at more closely and restructured. I came across this podcast (I feel by Devine intervention) and can say that these topics are speaking to me directly! I am having so much clarity and better understanding of my self, I feel this information is so valuable. But more so, I am feeling equipped with the tools I need to work on the things I want to change.

Shrimp FisherHell Yes to this Podcast!!One random day, I was sitting in my car getting ready for the commute and I needed something interesting to listen to. I took the chance and started listening to the Art of Speaking Up. I’m so freaking happy that I did! Jessica does an amazing job discussing some things I’ve encountered in the workplace that no one talks about. I really wish more people would. One of my favorite episodes was been “Landing the Dream Job Without the Right Experience”. It was so helpful to hear from someone who has experienced what I am going through. I know that I am not alone and but it can be very lonely at times and hearing *literally* helps me believe in myself more! I know many more people need this. A special thank you to Jessica Guzik for creating this podcast. Keep bringing to light these issues and please continue to build out the community in ways that are interactive!
-
mochimusAmazing podcast for professional women of all ages! This is an amazingly valuable and important podcast for professional women. Although it seems to be targeted at younger women, my 4 girlfriends and I (all late 30s to early 40s) often discuss this podcast because its topics are so relevant to us. After listening to each episode, I feel empowered to overcome my own challenges and also eager to empower other women who I know struggle with similar issues. Thank you for producing such meaningful and impactful content. Please know that your listeners are more diverse (especially in age; we’re not all in our early to mid 20s) than you may think! We truly value you.
-
ramenkuriInspirational; I wish all of my friends would check this outI am loving this podcast - it is crazily relevant to situations I am dealing with now and in the past. The trailer is also a great way to get pumped up for the day!

Sarah Travel GalLike listening to a friendJess addresses tough topics but leaves me feeling inspired. I love how open she is with her struggles because so many women are going through the same thing. Brava! 👏👏👏

AmyElizabeth121Perfect balance of practical and motivationalMy boss gave me a toy microphone one year, half joking and half encouraging me to use my voice at work. I didn’t have the confidence or the knowhow to take action so I tucked the mic in my desk drawer and continued to stay relatively quiet. The Art of Speaking Up has helped me realize a few things: feeling this way is normal and taking action can be scary, but everyone is more than capable of creating positive change. Every episode is jam packed with realistic steps you can take that SAME DAY to get more vocal, more confident and more comfortable with doing both. I spend every commute to the office with Jess and her guests (all incredibly inspiring women) learning how to be a better contributor at work, a better communicator and an all-around better human being. I can’t recommend this podcast enough.
-
chlodogggggWhat I’ve NeededThank you for this! Honestly I’m not the ONLY ONE! Keep it up, and I’ll keep listening

jes253Finally!It’s so good to finally hear a solid articulation not just of these issues, but of my feelings about them!! And it’s actually really useful in my day-to-day at the office. Constructive, positive, and challenging. All things you want in a podcast like this.

Kyle-19199Thoughtful and Meaningful conversationsI love this podcast. It explores with candor the many challenges of building a career in a mostly male dominated world, and what it’s like to navigate the inner critic, as well as the expectations and assumptions associated with being female. Jessica is a great host, who sets a course for the conversation but let’s it flow naturally. A continuously great listen.
-

Jessica navigates through the very topics that are plaguing many of us in the corporate world with her guests, allowing us fo find solutions and comfort in other women’s experiences. I highly recommend this podcast for any women (or man) who wants fo better understand themselves and human connection in the workplace.

podcastsonpodcastsMuch neededLove the idea of this podcast - much needed for young women and not-so-young women (and probably everyone else too). Particularly enjoyed the episode with Brenda Baird. Keep at it, Jess!

WellWithRishaLove it!Loving this podcast and the interview style! Such an important subject!

Livie HopeLOVE Everything About This PodcastSpeaking Up always has some of the best guests imaginable, with episodes that truly are for the working woman, each one being less than an hour long. They are rarely self-indulgent, and even when they are, they remain educational. I just listened to the episode regarding handling uncomfortable work moments with co-workers and management and had various Aha! Moments that I’ve never had before. The episode with Kaitlin Maud got me hooked. Jessica has incredible warmth around her, making everyone feel safe and also seen. Her guests similarly share a grounded, relatable aspect to them. So many have been underestimated and have come to rise out of the ashes; so apropos. I love this woman and this pod. I finish every episode empowered. Check it!

ninaninaballlerinaAmazing podcast for young professionals!I listen to this podcast every morning during my commute to work and not only does it set me an amazing mood for the rest of the day because of the positive and inspiring conversations I’m listening to, but the podcast also makes me more aware for the rest of the day. Jessica and her guests give extremely easy to implement and tactical pieces of advice I can try out during my meetings and presentations throughout the day. They also offer super relatable points of view on how to think about the challenges we face at work. My favorite so far is the chat with Olivia Mitchell and how to change our reaction to being nervous before a big presentation. These discussions about our mindset are so quickly applicable and really help put some of these inspiring pieces of advice into action. I enjoy this podcast so so much - I’ve listened to so many out there covering this issue and this is by far MY FAVORITE.
-
thecvlLevel up by speaking upJessica is creating a safe space for women to be heard, to tell our stories, and to level up together. There are so many “how to” guides on adapting to a white-male dominated workspace. This podcast is a great start to thinking about how can we change the landscape by unlocking what women already have in an authentic way.
-
Gym1547Let’s uplift each other! Loving this already!!After listening to E1 all I can say is that I’m so excited for this!! This is going to be so awesome! Jessica is going to challenge you to bring out the strongest and best version of yourself. Be bold ladies! 💕
-
barbara larfLooking forward to learning to speak up!This podcast is an honest take on something many women struggle with. I particularly like that the approach is about recognizing our strengths and channeling them- as Jessica says, “as women we already have enough messages about what we need to fix”!!
-
DprzygodaNecessary in these timesThis podcast isn't just great, it'sa necessary listen for both men and women. Listening to Jessica's personal experiences as well as those of her guests, this podcast illuminates an all too often overlooked part of modern society: what it's like to be a professional woman in the workplace. It's important in these times to not only discuss issues like #MeToo and #TimesUp but to also have an open and honest dialogue about the casual everyday sexism and misogyny that can plague a workplace and what can be done about it. Jessica is a fantastic host, as you'll hear she's able to seamlessly weave in deeply personal anectdotes with humor, reflection, while also getting her guests to open up about their experiences and their advice on how to navigate the modern working world. As I said before, this podcast is necessary, now more than ever
-
EzRrrrEngaging and insightfulJessica is super engaging and insightful. Can’t wait to hear more from her and guests!
