    Much need podcast
I don’t even have enough words to express how truly grateful I am to have been led to this podcast. I started listening at a low. Low time in my life, and I actually would put on the podcast to fall asleep. Thank you so much for being your authentic self. It is an example and a light.

    This Podcast is Life
Listening to Podcasts was something I pushed against as an avid music connoisseur, I always figured- why listen to someone talk, when you could listen to music?- I stumbled across this Podcast after a friend encouraged me to give them a try. When I tell you I love this Podcast, I LOVE this podcast! It’s everything I didn’t even know I needed. I’ve never felt more seen. Growing up as an awkward black girl, I internalized a lot of hate and rejected myself because of it. This show has given me some of the tools I needed to help me begin love and appreciate myself. Where I would lean away from the things that make me me, now I lean in. There is still a lot more work to do, but I definitely feel I’m moving in the right direction. Thank you and keep making more episodes!

    Centering Joy
It was my theme in 2021 and much of 2022. But then I had to heal, still healing. Thank you for the reminder. Joy is also revelatory, it reveals my unfiltered self. Joy shows me my needs and supports my desires. Joy takes up space too; it expands and before you know you’re surrounded by it. When black women center joy we create more space in the world for all black women to thrive. We expand possibilities for black women. We show more ways that black women can happily exist. Joy is revolution because it is at odds with forces that benefit from our smallness.

    Thank You
When I tell you I am so thankful for you and your cousin’s Daddy Issues episode. I’m currently at work listening and had to step away and leave this review to express my gratitude. I am so full of emotion right now because tonight you ladies have validated every experience I’ve endured, validating my feelings and not feeling bad for having those feelings. To this day I am still struggling with childhood trauma from both of my parents and it has taken me 31 years of living to finally seek healing and work through those issues. Thank you so much for this podcast we tend to think we are the only ones who have gone through a specific situation in life feeing isolated and alone.Thank you for speaking to my heart!!
