Host Neale’s Voice Lowers Blood Pressure and Improves Longevity
This show is full of wisdom about photography (and life!), stories told by a diverse community of creatives, and practical tips to improve your own art making practice. But most importantly: the host Neale’s voice has healing properties: listening to his narration is an all-natural anti-depressant, mood-booster, and mild sedative with no known side effects. If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to have a magical British wizard read you soothing bedtime stories in a mossy, gravel-pathed woody forest, while occasionally admonishing his dog to stay on the trail, look no further. 10/10

    Excellent Photography Community Podcast
I found this podcast a month or so back and have been very much enjoying the new episodes as they come out, plus working my way back into previous episodes. This podcast is the best I have found in promoting and building a community. Most episodes include emails that have been sent in to the show, plus conversations with different photographers, monthly photo assignments, plus active FB and IG groups. For the supporters of the show, there is also a monthly zoom chat that you can participate with. Fun, thoughtful to listen to, interactive between the show and the listeners, I highly recommended it!

    Singular
The podcast for photographers who shoot for meaning and story as much as visual merit. Spend the time to walk with Neal and his guests as he gets to what matters most: the why.

    Masterclass in interviewing
Subscribe today and you’ll be glad you did! Neale is a superb interviewer and brings out the best in his fascinating guests who use photography as their artistic medium. I’m not sure how he manages to find such an interesting array of guests, but the episodes never disappoint. And Extra Mile subscribers get a second episode each week and a live Zoom monthly, which is creating a wonderful community of photographers from around the world. I’ve listened to many photography podcasts and this one is a standout. Can I also mention that Neale’s humor, excellent editing, and experienced “radio voice” adds to the quality of the program. Check it out!

Zen and the Art of Photography
This excellent and professionally produced podcast goes beyond the mere tech and gear of photography to explore the meaning of taking pictures and what that does for life. This is not the podcast to go to if you want to know exactly what F stop to set your camera at or which film or SD card is best. It is the podcast to turn to you want if you are looking for a deeper exploration of life and how photography can help you find meaning in your life. Not only is the podcast interesting and informative, but it is also relaxing and meditative. I cannot stress enough, how addicting this show is. I look forward to every new episode and even joined the shows Patreon program to get more.

    Masterful Presentation of Photography Etc.
I happened upon this podcast quite by accident and so glad I did. In fact, it is the podcast that caused me to to learn that Apple Podcasts do not store your played history which caused me to frantically search “British photographer and his dogs on a walk talking about photography reading listener’s letters,” or some such phrase. Now a subscriber and bingeing through past episodes appreciating the photography discussions as well as Neil’s sense of humor.

ruined by covid stance…even in 2023!
Podcast builds community & promotes photowalk events, but even in the 2nd half of 2023 the host requires “fully vaccinated/boosted” covid status of participants, as-if that was a reasonable ethical concern. That causes is -4 stars, regardless of the reasons: it is discriminatory, counter inclusive, and reflects disregard for humanity.

    Better than anything else
Tons of photo podcasts, but this is nearer to conversations than anything else out there. Great story telling, great interviews, and just plain fun.

Just a great, warm hearted show
Unlike other photography podcasts I’ve tried that are agenda pushing, rude and or foul… this is a show for photographers who just love their craft. Such a good show

    Tremendous interviewer
It’s about the images and not the gear. You so get that and I thank you!

    Genuinely about Photography
Even when podcasts start discussing photography, sincerely. Most of them turn to discussing hardware

    Hooked
I must confess that I’ve only listened to one podcast so far but I feel like this is the podcast that I’ve been searching for. I listened to a photo walk and found it a brilliant format. And inspirational- just go out and do a photo walk - kinda obvious but helpful when I feel overwhelmed by all the other things I need to do.

Warm, engaging, conversation about humanity through a camera lens
As a photographer, this is one of my go-to podcasts but the information and engagement transcends cameras, using them as a way to connect on a very human level. Neale James is a master of the interview, not content with the pro forma questions, rather he asks the things I want to know and some I didn’t know I wanted to know until he asks them. Neale’s interviews remind me of putting exposed paper into developer and watching a picture slowly rise and form until the story is complete. I don’t feel as if I’m listening to a podcast. Instead I feel as if I’m sitting around a table just taking in a convivial exchange to which I’m incredibly lucky to listen. I feel as if I’m listening to a friend as he introduces me to new friends. I am a patron of this podcast through Patreon and, in all honesty, it’s one of the best investments in infotainment I make each month. In fact, the Friday Photowalk is worth my donation alone. What? You don’t know about the Friday Photowalk? Grab a camera and a good pair of boots, some ear buds and your player, and join Neale, me, and a thousand of your “closest friends” every Friday as we walk, learn, laugh, and make images together. See you on the path…

    I found gold!
I just started listening after I heard about it through the Fujicast podcast (another favorite). The interviews are informative, entertaining and sometimes even heartbreaking. I just started listening, I will keep up with the new ones and start listening to past episodes. Thank you for my new favorite podcast! @2moonsphotography

    My Favorite Photo Podcast
Photography Daily has quickly become my favorite photo podcast. Neale has such a great way to tell a story and is an expert interviewer. The Friday photo walks and other series he shares are very informative and inspiring. I want to create things when I’m finished listening and learn something from every episode. The guests are from a variety of genres and provide such a rich exposure of what photography is for them. Fun, informative, and inspiring…can’t really ask for more!

    Best Photography Podcast!
There are many podcasts that talk about the technical aspects of photography or go in depth about specific lenses, camera systems, or the photography industry. Photography Daily is different in that the focus is more on what photography means to those of us that practice it. What motivates us as photographers and what we get out of it. Neale James is an outstanding interviewer and brings in guests who talk not just about their passion for photography, but also about the intrinsic motivation and rewards of photography. I began listening to the podcast in its old format, and look forward now to the daily podcasts.
