    Angela’s voice
I started listening to her podcast during a very low period of recovery. A friend suggested I pick podcasts about recovery from alcohol addiction just pick one that you like their voice. I was facing challenges in working, family, mental health aging and staying sober after many years of sobriety. Thanks Angels for recent podcast on the dry January boot camp. I am interested in starting a new year with this to keep going foward after a very challenging 2024.

Angela has changed my life - October 2024 review
I started listening to Angela after a devastating break up and to seek some insight and help on the toxic issues that come with never having faced your demons. Don’t remember if I stumbled on her show or sought it out but as someone with addictive issues that had absolutely wreaked havoc on my life, I was seeking psychological relief and some kind of hope or relatable experience. Angelas show gave me just that. Her insight and information on the brain and how it affects addicts has been life changing knowledge to me that has allowed me to begin to not only understand myself and my brain but find solutions and hope. Angela is so helpful and so giving of herself and her life experience and research. Love this show and I constantly check for the next new episode! Thank you so much Angela! Your work is life changing and life saving!

Been listening for 4 years, sober 1 yr w/1yr relapse, now 2 yrs sober w/Angela
I listen to her every time she posts a pod cast to my email. She is so straightforward, no nonsense, no judgement “just the facts” I love that she is brain chemistry and addiction science based. I’ve listen to other in addiction who are good but Angela is Outstanding. There is good and then there is great! Thank you Angela. I am going to sign up for a call as I knock on 24 months sobriety which is my danger zone.

    This has helped me
This pod cast caught my attention when other pod casts did not and neither did other people. I think it was Angela’s straight forward method of speaking. Almost 16 months sober and feeling a lot better. Not fixed but moving on the path forward. Thanks Angela.

  • Hey Pink Cloud
    Thank u for the reminders!
I turn 40 next week, and I’m about to celebrate two years of alcohol sobriety after a 21 yr intense alcoholic battle that almost took my life and took my boyfriend to suicide during Covid. My healing journey evolved, but it has been quite solitary, meaning I didn’t utilize groups or meetings much. My key coping skills have been therapy, nutrition, rollerskating, and weight lifting. I never struggled so much as I have as I inch closer to 2 yrs. FOMO started kicking in. Resentment to those who can drink “normally” set in. At 2 yrs, what now?? Once again, my coping skills had to evolve. I’ve started listening to recovery podcasts to remind myself that I’m not alone, and yours really puts me at ease! It’s also a great reminder of some hard truths. My brain will tell me that I can just have a glass of wine with dinner forever, and it is lying. Thanks again for the reminders and an informative podcast from a long term pro💖 Kelley C

So glad to have found your site
I was listening to this week’s Hello Someday podcast and you were interviewed. I loved the episode and clicked on your podcast and listened to two episodes today. I’m hooked. I loved episode 287. You are inspiring, and I look forward to listening to more. I am 53 years old and have consistently drank since I was 15. I am now 7 months alcohol free and I couldn’t have gotten this far without this amazing sober community. The future is looking really bright. Thank you! Denise from Florida

Angela is authentic and feels like a friend!!
I’ve been listening to Angela for almost a year, my sister in law who had been newly sober at the time sent her podcast to me because I wanted to get sober once and for all!! Now I’ve been sober for over 10 months and now I send her podcast to my 27 year old daughter who’s been sober for 5 months. Angela covers everything and anything related to sobriety and life. It’s all stuff that we think about all the time. Angela, thank you for your service to human kind, you are truly an inspiration. Also thank you for your fun sense of humor, it’s always great to smile or chuckle and to remember to do that!!!! xox Elizabeth

    I love this podcast
This podcast has helped me so much in the past 6 months or so. I had it in my rotation of sobriety podcasts but just started really listening faithfully recently. Angela is so down to earth and relatable. Her intelligence and knowledge shine . Thanks so much Angela. I feel like you are a friend who I never met!

Loved this episode about moderation. Loved each point. Really loved : get honest about moderation. Also hit home about the obsession/thinking about drinking!! All the reasons you mentioned make so much sense why we make the rules and fear that we won’t like the outcome. But we do want to feel better. The breaking of rules and promises to ourselves is what makes us drink more!!!! Thank you Angela.

    We’re not alone after all
After 20 years of trying to solve my excessive drinking by myself I started listening to this podcast to confirm that I wasn’t really an alcoholic. To admit that I had a problem was beyond me at the time, but by listening to Angela I slowly came to realize that my life could be much better without drinking, even if I wasn’t ready to admit my alcoholism. So I listened every week, for about a year. Slowly the message was received and I gathered the courage to stop drinking, start a program of recovery and now I’m living the life of my dreams. True happiness, the absence of guilt and the best part: being in the moment. I’ve restored relationships, excelled at work and am finally the man I want to be. Angela is a gift to those in suffering and I owe my new life in part to this podcast. She gives you the courage and practical guidance to deal with addiction in a funny and non-threatening way, just what headstrong types like me need. You owe it to yourself to stick with this podcast for a bit, might just change your life.

    Love Angela
Angela is my angel. For 6 years I struggled with my life and was heading down a very bad path with depression and popping pills. I can truly say this is the first time in 6 years I am starting to see the light. I just randomly found her. She literally saved my life. I don’t know her personally but I can’t wait to meet her one day.

A Great Addition to Our Toolboxes
Recovery has come a looooong way since I got on board in 1993. I like listening to Angela Pugh because she’s recovery-focused, not 100% 12-Step, and she is knowledgeable bc of her personal experience. I refer my sponsees to her podcast all the time! For me, recovery has been multi-approach: 12- Step, Professional Development, Alternative Healing, Yoga, Nutrition, Sleep Hygiene, Hobbies, Therapy, Massage, Art Groups. I like that Angela talks about healing modalities other than, but including AA. I do wish that the podcast would follow the 11th Tradition of personal anonymity.

    POWERFUL & PURPOSEFUL
I’ve been following Angela for years when I started my sober minded journey. Her real talk and candid approach is refreshing. Her topics aren’t JUST about sobriety, but about every day life challenges we all face as humans. She teaches you how to cope with life’s messiest moments in healthy ways rather than pouring gasoline on it with booze. Grateful I found her podcast. She’s an inspiration and a sweet voice of reason. Thank you Angela for what you do and how you do it!

    Powerful and worthwhile
Every time I listen, I have new ah-ha moments. Even when I feel confident in my sobriety and am more focused on childhood trauma work than not drinking, the underlying message is still appropriate. I’m so glad I found this podcast and highly recommend it.

A podcast for a one size fits all 👌🏻
Angela podcast is the most inspiring podcast I have listened to both in the sober community as well as a positive life skill podcast. I even tell my non sober friends to listen because she is full of great advise and tips for living a happy life. As a young sober person I never thought I could find someone with such great tools that not only inspires me with every podcast but truly helps me see that sobriety is not only possible but fun! She is not only for females or only for people with years of sobriety she truly is a one size fits all and is relatable whether you have one day of sobriety , twenty years or are just trying to get past day 1. I look forward to her new podcast as they come out weekly and listen to all of the older ones in between to keep me inspired and learning . Angela you rock girl!!!!

    Great podcast !
This was the very first podcast I listened to when I decided to get sober. This podcast has helped me in so many ways and I look forward to listening every week. It is so obvious that Angela puts a lot of time and work into every episode. It’s also obvious Angela really cares about her listeners. I will forever be grateful for this podcast. I’ve been sober now for 463 days.

    Serves it Straight Up
Angela serves up straight talk on life. She is among the very best I have listened to. I am grateful for the perspective she shares on life in recovery. A well deserved 5 star rating from this listener.

    Very inspiring
Angela is very honest, logical and extremely knowledgeable. And she communicates in a kind and endearing way. Thank you for sharing, Angela, and for helping people on the sober journey!

Too much time spent on self and AA
I have listened to about 10 episodes and I find my enjoyment is lessened by #1 she is very self centered and even when doing an interview ends up talking about herself so much, and #2 ALWAYS seems to feel the need to mention how AA is Just Fine!! and gets defensive about AA. Honey you could use a few more meetings since you’re clearly still very self centered, but also it’s 2021 and you’re a woman - time to acknowledge times have changed and some people don’t like to go to the misogynist club for their recovery....

    No Nonsense Help
I’m a 56-year-old woman fighting my stupid long time alcohol addiction. A new listener, so I’m just getting started on the podcast. I’m right now on Day 1 yet again, so “white-knuckling” it through my 10 minutes at a time. I know isolated and alone is what causes me to start again. This lady gets it and has great advice. And I know once I stop, one or two days after the misery of stopping and experiencing the withdrawal symptoms, I feel so much better, so I plan to listen to the this podcast on the walks I love so much, keep me on a healthy path. Thank you, Angela.

    LOVE this podcast!
This is one of the best, most helpful addiction recovery podcasts I’ve listen to. Amanda always gives lots of useful advice to cope with the anxieties of embarking on (and maintaining) the journey of living a sober life. I’ve been listening for the last few months. Just finished episode #144 (People, Places & Things) and WOW, very powerful! I’ll definitely be listening to that one again. It really hit home on a lot of the anxieties I've been feeling lately. I'm early in my sobriety so "fun" has really been the major topic for me. This episode addressed ALL of it!! I love Amanda's style of humor. I can relate to a lot of things she says.

Learning to live a better life
The day I decided to quit alcohol for good, I listened to my first Addiction Unlimited podcast and Angela was telling me exactly what I needed to hear, confirming that my life could no longer include alcohol. She speaks the truth from the heart because she has the experience of being addicted and now has years of sobriety, making her life better and helping people do the same. I am so grateful that I came upon her podcast at the very right time.

    Great Podcast
I have been listening to Addiction Unlimited for over a year and thought it was time to leave a review. This podcast is so helpful and inspiring, at almost two years sober, this podcast is great for those new to recovery and those continuing their journey. I recently purchased the new Powerless and Powerful Recovery Journal and have been using daily. It’s an excellent and easy resource to reflect and journal day by day. This year has been challenging for those in recovery, most if not all resources have been virtual due to COVID. This podcast has helped bridge that gap when I have felt my recovery resources and tools have been limited. Thank you Angela for your hard work and quality podcast, such a joy to listen!

One of the BEST in Addiction Recovery
Angela, the host, is an excellent speaker, extremely knowledgeable in the fields of addiction and recovery (she’s in recovery herself), and she is also is an excellent communicator. Her podcasts are very relatable and she is “real” and honest about her own journey to sobriety and the many benefits of living a full life without alcohol.
