    Such an excellent story!
I love this podcast so much. The story, music, effects, and acting are soooo good! Even though it’s a fiction podcast, it’s chock full for helpful information and encouragement for self exploration and self improvement. I can’t wait to listen to it from the beginning again!

    Addictive
I’m loving this podcast! I wish I had known about this a long time ago. I’ve just found it and I can’t stop listening. I started season one last night and I’m halfway through it already.

    Cool Title, Cool Characters
Fun concept and great use of a community of characters. A couple of the key voices of different characters are too similar to tell apart much of the time, both the natural voices of the actors and the way the voices are processed. There’s a certain artificial cadence to lots of the speech from multiple actors that is also similar enough to be deliberate, but it gets wearing and adds to the opportunity to confuse a couple key voices.

    Magically addictive!
LOVE this podcast! So beautifully written and addresses real issues, real heart break, and real healing. The subtle world building straddles the line of reality and fantasy. I can’t stop binge listening!

Amazing! I’m so glad I found this podcast!

It started so promising and then just disappoints
I was really intrigued by the concept of a modern magic story! But some bits have increasingly made me bristle. The last straw was the spotlight episode for some ‘elemental psychology’ nut that has zero psychology training or credentialing. Unfortunately unsubscribing.

    Something New and Beautiful
This series has elevated and informed my personal practice as a witch immeasurably. It’s effective in telling relatable stories, with a fantasy world woven through that is very well thought out. A welcome alternative to what I’ve seen in mainstream media, that includes greater diversity of gender and cultural backgrounds. Decolonized magic ftw! So excited that season 3 is rolling out ❤️

    Can’t say goodbye
It’s hard to describe magic with words. Oh, Lisette Alvarez can do it, as you’ll know if you listen to this show, but I’m not sure I can & that’s what this show actually is: magic. Yes, it’s about magic too but not entirely, no, it’s so much more. All I can say is this show is a landmark fiction podcast, & one that finds its way into your heart & stays there forever. Subscribe ASAP !!

    PURE ENTERTAINMENT
I can't stop listening. The only thing i don't like about the show is HAVING TO WAIT FOR NEW EPISODES. Omg i love this podcast. Characters are endearing. Narrative style works perfectly. Keep it up Lisette! I just might send you some money...if i can figure out how to do that.

    Just Magical
I am IN LOVE with this audio drama. I sympathize with Kalila and I like to hear the different problems that people would potentially go to a witch for in this world. Witches are normal here and it's fantastic. It's totally #queer and I am living for it. As someone who identifies as Polysexual and Bisexual, this show makes my little gay heart flutter <3 Wonderful show!

    Must-listen for Fall
Such a perfect podcast to listen to to get in the mood for fall! As witchy and entertaining as it is, it’s a delight to hear how it’s grown and transitioned to more voice actors and such. A clear labor of love, this is a wonderful listen for anyone with an affinity for witchy, warm and magical stories!

a fun and interesting show with cool worldbuilding!! the way each episode deals with the intertwining of supernatural and the underlying emotional problems is real good.

    More than meets the eye
I thought it was going to be a simple story - but like all the best podcasts, Kalila had me fooled! The depth of the worldbuilding is, pun intended, spellbinding, and I love it! The show is well written, well acted, and well produced - everything just feels natural!

    Really enjoying! 1 suggestion tho
Really enjoying the podcast, it’s very unique, which is hard to come by. Stories are fun and exciting. Totally recommend! If I may make one suggestion though to the creator, assuming she’ll ever read these....{SPOILER ALERT}...the coughing every time you switch between personalities made total sense in the beginning when your character wasn’t quite sure yet what was happening...but now that it’s been established and both personalities are fully aware of the other...the coughs or throat clearing between every exchange is becoming distracting. At this point, your listeners know what’s happening (meaning we’re aware the two voices are coming from the same person), so the cough is no longer necessary to indicate that the other voice is about to speak. It’s not a dealbreaker or anything, the show is still great! I just have a tendency to pick up on little things like that and when it’s repetitive, my brain kinda gets stuck on the sound and it totally takes me out of the story and I miss what’s actually being said and I have to rewind it and listen again and try to pay attention while consciously trying to ignore the repetitive noise. (There’s several other podcasts that do similar things that are much more distracting than this one...i.e. Edict Zero which apparently every single character in the entire podcast is constantly on the verge of peeing their pants with their incessant foot shuffling and constant footsteps, even when they’re supposedly sitting down in front of a computer <why do they need to continuously move they’re feet if they’re sitting down?!> so I can’t help but always picture them all doing the peepee dance. I realize it’s just a sound byte for background noise that the editor inserted but I’m constantly wanting to scream to them “Stand still!!! Stop moving your feet for 5 seconds!!!”.....so yours is definitely on the milder end). That’s just my two cents. As I said, show is still great regardless. Can’t wait for the next episode! :)

    Really special
This show is such a breath of fresh air. Really well written and acted, an immersive fascinating world, compelling relationships. I love that we get to see the raw bits of Kalila and her struggles as well as the triumphs. So good!

    Amazing, engaging, diverse storyline
Everything about this show is so good. World-building that makes what’s invisible in our realm, visible in theirs. Incredible characters that ACTUALLY represent the people I love— people of color, immigrants, mixed-race people, queer and non-binary people. A diverse pantheon of witchcraft, not just the European models. A real protagonist with real flaws, who’s really working on it. LOVE THIS PODCAST!!

    has heart
this podcast is full of heart and positivity and has elements of great storytelling. the reason i don’t give it five stars is that listening to this character have nervous breakdowns across multiple episodes is just taxing to listen to. especially when binge-listening. that, coupled with audio dynamics issues (i.e. having to turn the volume up so i can hear the quiet moments and fumbling to turn it down while being deafened by a sudden spike in volume) have made me decide to stop listening after getting through the first eleven episodes.

Kalila I would die for you
Rarely do I come across an audio drama that is as thoroughly my jam as Kalila Stormfire. If you love lowkey yet poignant stories, endearing witches or little magic shops you wish you could actually visit you’ll love this
  • @Tessa_M_K
    Compelling & diverse
This starts off as a light listen with an interesting concept as the titular witch starts her new business, and evolves into a compelling & intriguing story. The diverse LGBTQ+ cast & characters, the delicacy with which the show handles such complex & traumatic issues and the hints of a budding romance, add up to a recipe for a must listen audio drama.

Hit the sweet spot for me.
I am a huge Dresden fan, and while the compairson here is not the best this show really managed to give me that vibe. I love how it starts off so simple but blossoms into a very well thought out story. So excited I found this show.

New listener— lots of cross listening!
I found out about this podcast when it was crossed promoted with Far Meridian and Janus Descending for the Once Upon a Podcast show. Very sad I can’t make the live show! It has been excellent and engaging, diverse and inclusive. Representation matters, and this podcast hits the nail on the head. The Girl in Space tarot reading was an unexpected delight, as I also love that podcast. I may also want to name a cat Eldritch now.

I am in absolute awe of how much time and passion and dedication has been put into this show. Lisette Alvarez must be a witch of the highest order with how spellbinding her tales is. Just. This show
Through the case files of a young witch, we are shown a truly, scientific and holistic approach to solving the traumas of everyday life. This show also beautifully builds a world outward, creating a specifically designed world around this witch who has been cast out by her coven and is, herself, healing from her own secret traumas. This show is magic- I'm sorry, magick. Highly recommend.

A work from heart and soul
Complete suspension of disbelief. What else is there to say? The weaving of drama, fantasy, and mundane is spectacular. By the end of episode 1 you will be asking yourself if this really is fiction. I for one, hope not.
  • lucilleballtilyoufall
    Just plain magical
I fell in love with this show right from the get-go. Each episode has such wonderful depth and earnestness that is only added to by the magical elements included. I am always eagerly awaiting new episodes and am never disappointed by Lisette's storytelling abilities.

A beautiful and original new audio drama. Kalila is a fun, intelligent character, her clients are quirky (and in very good hands) and the story is steeped in a mystery I just can’t wait to unravel!

    Audio Magic in Action
A fun and heartfelt show in which the diverse and detailed world and its characters handle very real and relatable issues. With a combination of episodic magical challenges and long-running mysteries and conflicts, it promises a very entertaining run!
  • BlanketBand
    Such heart.
Three episodes in and Kalila has already displayed a range of themes and tones. Episode 3 in particular was beautifully done. Lisette is an engaging, personable voice actor, the characters and situations are grounded and the magick clearly comes from a place of authenticity.

    Get Your Witchiness on!
If you're a big fan of Willow and Tara on Buff the Vampire Slayer, then you'll love this podcast! A "witch for hire" podcast as she talks about her recent cases and gives some fun insights into what's it like being a witch in this world. The first two episodes were very entertaining and I can't wait to see where this show goes.
