This is one of my favorite podcasts. Sean and Scott’s conversation with Thaddeus Williams about his latest book, Revering God spoke deeply to me today about cultivating more awe of God in my life as a Christ follower.

The podcast that I look forward to listening to the most. The addition of the “Cultural Update” this last year I find particularly enjoyable and helpful.

This podcast fairly discusses current issues that are important to people of faith and discusses how the Bible relates to them.

This show really helps me keep a biblical perspective on things that are hard to discuss or not easy to find others that might want to invest time into. Thank you for this great blessing and weekly uplift.

I never miss an episode! I look forward to this podcast. Strong Biblical analysis on many of the pressing issues in the world. I highly recommend. It’s educational as well as entertaining. This podcast should be listened to by every Christian. It’s definitely sharpened my worldview.

If I only had one podcast I could listen to, this would be it. The hosts are so gracious and loving, kind and helpful. The theology is great. If you have children, this is a must as you navigate them through this secular and godless society. You don’t know what you don’t know and all the bad stuff out there the will seek to capture your and your children’s heart and soul.

Let me first State outrightly I appreciate Shawn‘s approach with some controversial guests. I think you shows a lot of compassion and empathy without compromising on the essentials. Having said that I do question why he doesn’t interview other controversial people. He’ll have on Preston sprinkle, who is In my opinion, a Wolf and sheep clothing. He hasn’t had on Megan Basham (to my knowledge). Why? I’m trying not to jump to conclusions. Is it because some of the people in her book are his colleagues. I think, with his thoughtful approach, he could even agree to disagree with her conclusions. I don’t know, because he hasn’t addressed any of her accusations. Are they credible or is she way off base?

This show is well researched and presented from a biblical worldview. They do not shy away from challenging topics and treat them fairly. Definitely worth a listen.

It’s so necessary to have Christian leaders, writers, etc who are biblically minded and are willing and able to talk about tough issues we all face in our current cultural context that seeks to ground every day Christians in a Biblical worldview. Y’all help us think better and inform us of what’s happening & what’s at stake.

Whenever I listen to Sean and Scott, I’m very engaged with the whole discussion. The questions that people write in, always get me to think deeper as well. Highly recommend listening and thank you both for all you do!!! God bless

I’m grateful for this podcast, which has helped me navigate Christian theology and correct some of the misguided beliefs I picked up from my church background. Growing up in a prosperity gospel church, I often struggled to reconcile my faith with what I learned outside of church and in school. Discovering resources like this podcast and finding a solid church that teaches traditional doctrines has made a significant difference for me. Now, as a father, I’m committed to passing on a faith that thoughtfully engages with contemporary issues while staying true to orthodox beliefs. I think Sean and Scott do an amazing job every time wrestling with hard questions, issues and topics. I can’t recommend this podcast enough.

A welcome show with thoughtful and fair commentary regarding cultural issues that in both big and small ways affect each of us. The hosts are generous to look for commonality with other people and positions even though the worldview at the source of those positions may be in contrast to Christianity.

There’s not an episode that doesn’t challenge my thinking and mindset about what it looks like to be Christian in society today, and how to have more thoughtful conversations, asking better questions in my own circles.

Dr. Rae and Dr. McDowell do an excellent job in both picking relevant topics and informed folks to interview. Their questions were thoughtful, exploratory, and relevantly applied to the Christian seeking on Christ and the skeptic, considering his claims. I often recommend it to others and would love to do so for you!

I really enjoy this podcast, it’s extremely thought provoking. The latest episode really challenged me to engage others with differing views in a respectful and honest way. The Cultural updates are great as well. Thanks for all y’all do to build the Kingdom.

The Think Biblically podcast is interesting, timely and I learn something new every time I listen. Sean and Scott are both honest, deep thinkers who help listeners see the world around us through a biblical lens. I love the variety of guests and that they are respectful to all people and their ideas but they are loyal to only the truth. Thank you Sean and Scott for all you do and the new cultural update shows are awesome!

I have come to love “think biblically”. thoughtful, respectful and allowing room for disagreement. Always turning us back to God. I just finished listening to the May 28 episode on people – first leadership. One of the best short leadership trainings I have ever heard and I plan to share it with many people.

I like this podcast. Usually I agree with the hosts. Once when I didn’t agree with the special guest Preston Sprinkle, I sent in a letter to the show hosts. Their admin assistant who vets the letters to the editor did not like my opinion and sent me four argumentative emails including one with a guilt trip. I thought that was unprofessional.

I love the regular podcast and the discussions on culture. It challenges me to think biblically.

What a great way to keep God in our thoughts always as we live in this fallen world. It reminds of something I read recently "It is a heresy of our times to divide life into sacred and secular." (Foulness).

This podcast not only broadens my knowledge of the bible, but provides practical steps to engage in civil dialogue with those who share different beliefs. It’s an excellent way to challenge my own thinking as a Christian and improve my faith as I wrestle with common doubts about my beliefs. It’s a must-listen for anyone who is questioning Christianity, considering it, or simply looking for a supplement to strengthen their faith.

This is a wonderful podcast to help me evaluate the cultural news through the a Biblical lens. The opinions are thought provoking and really help for me and my family when we talk about what’s going on around world. Thank you so much!

This podcast is extremely helpful and I would highly recommend it. I once discussed something with a family member about something that wasn’t super clear in the Bible (this person was not a Christian) and he commented that “the Bible doesn’t say anything about that so we’re just left to decide for ourselves” but Sean and Scott help us draw out biblical principles with clarity in asking the question “how do we think biblically about this issue.” This podcast is one I include in my weekly routine and am always encouraged after listening.

You guys have to do a better job with this one. I would never consult a Friedman trained economist on the matter of social justice in light of the biblical teaching regarding the fall.

Thank you for this podcast. I have listened to this podcast religiously in the past and it has enriched my life so thank you for all your great content. I have also shared it with friends who have found it helpful. I haven’t tuned in in awhile but listened to the last two “Cultural Update” episodes and would be hesitant to recommend to my friends here in Alaska due to the seemingly flippant response to hunting as it is cast as broadly unethical, and the squishy, safe answer to questions about direction for voting in the 2024 Presidential elections. The culture updates are great

I recently found this podcast and have been binging on the episodes. I love the open dialogue about the gray areas of our life while taking a look at these issues from a biblical perspective. We need more voices to help guide us through the murky waters of our culture so that we can be a light in the world! These topics are so relevant and I’m so glad we have Christian scholars and experts to help us navigate these conversations.

The podcast has challenged me and helped me to develop a holistic biblical worldview on various cultural topics. I feel much more prepared for conversations and in engaging the world around me since listening to this podcast. One topic idea for an episode: the phenomenon of fandoms. For example, the current Taylor Swift obsession. How can we as Christians properly view what it means to be a “fan,” and graciously engage when we see how this has led to idolatry?

Bible centered discussions of critical topics for today filled with grace and truth. Like that in many cases it involves a book review making it more focused and real.

I love how thoughtful and kind both Scott and Sean are with engaging ideas from all sides of many difficult topics. My only concern is that sometimes they edge on compromise or syncretism or a “third way” where a firmer line should be drawn. Some people they host, like Russell Moore, seem to be assumed as credible voices because they are well known Chrisrian leaders, whereas in reality they are dragging many people away from Truth and toward the culture. Or course, I have no problem with hosting people with differing and even dangerous ideas, but sometimes I wish there was more pushback or at least more critical engagement with the people they host.

If you’re looking for pro LGBTQP+Z, woke version of Christianity that believes Christians can be gay and Christian, this is the show for you. 100% Heretical.

I really appreciate the willingness to address current concerns without torching the other side and presenting tough topics in a way that gets to the heart of the matter.

I just finished up this particular podcast; in general these podcasts are very well done. However, todays show left me a bit confused and concerned about some perceived viewpoints on sexuality. I may have misunderstood, so I want to go gently. Did they (you) say if you are a gay Christian that it was unreasonable to expect sexual purity. That it was a double standard if one was gay, to suggest they not to act on their sexuality; to hold to biblical sexual standards was unfair to the gay; that it was ok to engage if the urges were strong? That was my perception of the answer. Further, they seemed to devalue the moral purity movement; that it was unhealthy in some aspects. What is healthy about unbiblical sexuality? It is true that when one becomes a Christian, or returns to the faith, it could lead to reassessment of previous experience, which could lead to remorse and guilt. But the message of forgiveness and redemption are the solution, not to deviate from biblical teachings. You appeared to adapted worldly values and accept them into the faith. The Bible seems clear to me that sex before marriage was wrong, but there was freedom after marriage. That Paul’s letter to the Corinthians says we’re not to withhold sexual from one’s spouse, except by agreement, and for a season of prayer. I understand that this needs to be balanced with other factors. I believe you were off track today, unless I missed understood your statements.
