FooBar76Too much talk, little substance.Laura and Zack really enjoy hearing themselves talk. So much so that they talk over each other most of the time. The shows are full of irrelevant banter and boasting. If you want to hear two friends whom you barely know have a social conversation then tune in. Otherwise, schedule a get together with your own good friend whose company you enjoy and actually feel engaged about personal details they want to share.

TTinaYYRelatable and High Quality! As a parent/relationship coach, researcher and a work-in-progress, messy, imperfect human, I’ve been following (and recommending) this podcast since it started and have loved watching it grow and evolve. While I will miss Laura, I have no doubt that Zach is going to continue this relatable and high quality content!!! LOVE the 3 tips in this episode!!!

FuhrrealZach & Laura are my pals & they don’t even know itI found MTR when Zach & Laura were on Shawn Johnson and Andrew East’s podcast “Couple Things” and I have kept up ever since! So much great information and perspectives are shared. I have learned so much and take many of the strategies they teach into daily life. Personally, I like their banter and feel like I have 2 friends that I can hang out with while driving, making dinner, or doing chores. Thanks Zach and Laura!

arwashbouEnjoyable and informativeI found Marriage Therapy Radio from a YT video they did for Vanity Fair analyzing Ross and Rachel’s relationship and I’ve been hooked ever since. I find their banter to be enjoyable but my husband doesn’t always. So if I send him an episode to listen to, I let him know what he can skip to to get to the content. I really enjoy their dynamic and you can tell they are genuine friends. The podcast itself has really helped to improve my marriage and also communication/relationship skills in general. And yes, Laura, I do often listen while folding laundry!

TichappyToo much mindless chitchatSome good shows but some shows spend a lot of time in the front end just chit chatting without actually discussing the topic until 15-20 min in. Can be frustrating. But appreciate the effort and content when they do stay on topic.

ballardjkLove me a good Tuesday!I started listening to this podcast shortly after Covid. I’ve learned so much and have applied many of the things I learned to my relationship. The biggest thing for me was a mindset adjustment. Learning to see the good before the bad and assuming good intentions over malicious attacks. I look forward to each Tuesday.

TaylorCP.The best relationship podcast 🫶🏼Zach and Laura are not only insightful and educational when it comes to relationships, but they’re also FUN! I truly look forward to listening to your new episodes every Tuesday and what I can take away and apply to my own relationship! Thank you both so much 💙

LalexandraSo enriching and relatableLong time listener, Laura and Zach are so relatable. I love the gottman method and L & Z’s approach to all types of relationship topics. Also - Laura - so inspired by you running that marathon in 2024. Zach - let’s execute on the listener sponsorship for Laura’s marathon!! We’re here for it. And you guys…because you’re here for - and HELP - so many people. 🩵

DailylistenertoMTRGreat learnings via MTR with Zach and LauraI have learned so much this year by listening to marriage therapy radio and find Zach and Laura‘s approach to the show very engaging and educational. I appreciate the practical exercises and tools that they teach listeners and the way they’re able to help listeners reframe our thinking about relationships. Listening to MTR regularly reminds me that relationships take a lot of intentional effort and struggle is common for most couples. Overall, listening to MTR is worth the time and I highly recommend this podcast to everyone.

LolokerfuffleGood find!Really appreciate the way Zach and Laura handle such a wide variety of relational topics. The mix between the structured and conversational flow of the episodes makes them easy listening. This show has given me a lot of useful vocabulary for approaching relationships in my life- so happy I found it!
-
Folding Smithreally love Zach and Laura’s perspectives!!I’ve been listening to Zach and Laura for over 3 years now and have caught up on all past episodes— it is such a great way to hear the “other side” of marriage counseling and some of the tips/strategies they use in sessions and in their own marriages. I’ve learned a lot but really just enjoy the way their personalities work together (and clash too). Makes me think about marriage and partnerships in new ways (I send some episodes to my husband too and he likes to listen in!). Keep up the awesome work, Zach and Laura!

zycyxmBig fanHey folks, I can personally say that this podcast has been invaluable in giving me and my wife a common language and increasing our ability to listen to each other. When things got really bad in the past, we would both just stew and stay in old patterns. Listening to this podcast was the thing I said I would try. It’s been incredibly helpful to learn that not only is struggle and conflict inevitable in a long term partnership, it’s part of what makes marriage intimate and special. I don’t always love the banter but I always love the dad jokes. Also, Zach, I’ve noticed that since you started your meditation practice you’ve gotten a lot better at listening to Laura LOL!! Keep it up you two.

Samster64!Love Zach and LauraI have been listening to this show for about 3 years. I understand some people are put off by their banter but I just love it! It makes me feel like I’m sitting with friends and sharing issues. They are both very intelligent and intuitive people. It makes them great therapists. The other thing I love is that they’re not afraid to show their own vulnerability live on the show. You should bookmark this show as your “go to” podcast for relationship assistance.❤️

Encinitas momLove the episodesI am learning about my relationships through your podcast. Now I’m enrolled in the workshop! Thanks!

PepperandPineCasual listenSometimes you get gems and sometimes you get some enjoyable banter, either way it’s a win. I appreciate Laura’s openness and Zack’s growth over the years.

fe2chioHelping me see things in a new wayZach and Laura have helped me reframe my marriage. Now instead of waiting for my husband to change so I can be happier (I’ve been waiting 30 years!) I’m starting to understand what I can do to communicate my needs more clearly and appreciate the good things that have kept us together so long. Many of the concepts apply to work relationships as well, and I now recognize co-worker’s bids for attention and I can build connection. My new motto is ‘you can’t be right and be connected’ ( thanks, Zach!) I appreciate both of you for your wisdom and willingness to be vulnerable and model the use of these tools in real time.

StubblordAwesome podcastI stumbled upon this podcast because I was reading an email advertising a Gottman Institute workshop. I’m an LMHC in Florida. I have a Ph.D. In Marriage and Family Counseling. I’m always looking for ways to broaden my skill set while also strengthening myself and my relationship. This podcast really resonated with me. Both hosts were engaging, articulate and very personable. I highly recommend this podcast to anyone wanting to further their knowledge and practice or to just increase their awareness of why we make up the stories we do in our relationships and how we can better navigate conflict to create better outcomes.
-
coleenkSo grateful I found this podcastJust found this podcast after sifting through MANY marriage podcasts that just didn’t speak to me. Laura and Zach are real and personable and very easy to listen to.

vchicasLearned a lot!Love the catch ups, side notes, and overall dynamic! I’ve really been able to change my mindset around relationships, and my relationships (not just romantic ones) have improved from it :)
-
mamakinn2000Awesome balance of friendship and sound marriage adviceI look forward to each weeks episode as I want to hear what has been on their minds in their individual marriage therapy practices. I also enjoy hearing what they have been working through as friends, parents, and spouses. There is a fair amount of banter at the beginning of each episode which I love. Despite that, I always walk away with advice on improving my marriage from people who I know apply what they are teaching to their own lives. Keep up the good work.

Rebecca Rine Life CoachingAccessible Advice for Real MarriagesI love that they give advice in a way that is not overly clinical. They give examples and have even talked through their own struggles on the podcast. It’s extremely helpful for anyone in any relationship.

Kalie M.100% my favorite podcastThis podcast is amazing- the perfect balance of principle + practice (alliteration for you there 😉). I think what I’ve come to learn is that being in a healthy marriage is not intuitive- it takes time and knowledge to develop those tools, and I have learned so much over the years listening to MTR. I know I’m a better partner and person for having listened and applied what I’ve learned. Also, I LOVE Zach and Laura so much (man, the feelings podcast when they cried, I cried! That’s what happens when you’ve listened for years and come to love total strangers). What wonderful people that dedicate so much time to sharing what they’ve learned to help people experience more joy in their marriages. Love, love, love them.

MTR review 10008Found them at the right timeI started listening to Zach and Laura July 2022 when it felt like my husband and I were just roommates and we needed some help. I started at the beginning and listed every day. Fast forward one year and I can’t believe how much better my marriage is a year later. Hubby listens as well. We have much to work on but this was a great starting point for us. I love the chatting at the beginning of the episodes. It’s two adults having a normal conversation that some people need to hear what a normal conversation sounds like.
-
KBB*Favorite Podcast, longtime listener.I have been listening for a few years now and my husband listens sometimes as well. I enjoy Zach and Laura’s chit chat at the beginning of each episode as it makes them seem very relatable and people I would want to take advice from. They offer great insight into relationships and I enjoy the female and male perspective and find listening to them is very calming.

ShanJC123A Masterclass in Love and ConnectionIn the vast sea of podcasts on relationships, "Marriage and Family Radio" stands as a beacon of wisdom, insight, and authenticity. Hosted by the distinguished Gottman-Certified Couples Therapists, Zach Brittle and Laura Heck, this podcast is more than just a guide; it's a journey into the very fabric of human connection. What sets "Marriage and Family Radio" apart is the seamless blend of groundbreaking scientific research with real-life stories and experiences. Zach and Laura's approach is not only informed by their vast professional expertise but also enriched by their genuine empathy and understanding. They don't just talk about relationships; they delve into the complexities, the joys, the sorrows, and the foibles that make each relationship unique. The hosts' ability to weave intricate scientific findings into relatable narratives is nothing short of brilliant. It's not just about theories and studies; it's about how these principles apply to our daily lives, our marriages, our families. Whether you're in a relationship or seeking to understand the dynamics of human interaction, this podcast offers something valuable. Zach and Laura's chemistry as co-hosts adds a layer of warmth and sincerity that makes each episode feel like a conversation with trusted friends. Their humor, compassion, and willingness to share their own experiences create an environment where listeners feel seen, heard, and understood. "Marriage and Family Radio" is not just for couples; it's for anyone who believes in the power of relationships and the potential for growth, understanding, and satisfaction within them. It's a podcast that celebrates love in all its forms and encourages us to be better partners, parents, friends, and human beings. In a world where misinformation and superficiality can often reign, "Marriage and Family Radio" is a refreshing and much-needed voice of reason, empathy, and wisdom. It's a podcast that doesn't just inform; it inspires. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking to enrich their understanding of relationships and embark on a path of personal growth and fulfillment.

@nicole.spiricSimply incredible!Marriage Therapy Radio is the perfect mix between educational, inspiring, light-hearted, and fun. Marriage and relationship therapy can feel like a heavy topic, but Zach and Laura do an amazing job at breaking down the barriers and translating it to everyday life. A must listen!

bitoinspirationCan’t wait for TuesdayI look so forward to my 30 minute session with Zach and Laura each week. A year ago I was searching for tools to help me be a better partner to my love. One year later thanks to this dynamic duo and their vulnerability, transparency, skills and playful banter, I am far more equipped to love my now husband well. I take responsibility for my choices, I ask for what I need and get curious about his needs and wants in new ways. We also did the weekend intensive. We laughed, cried and learned so much. I hope this never ends!

AprilIspasTrustedThere are a lot of marriage podcasts who say good things. But I trust Zach and Laura. I listen to them for their honesty and wisdom and trust that what I take away will be useful in my own marriage. I 100% recommend.

LeoFlowersHelped me resolve conflictZach and Laura provide tangible and practical tips, strategies and tools that have made an immediate impact on how I communicate with my significant other, friends and colleagues. I’ve never been practiced in conflict resolution, and this podcast has taught me that I don’t have to fight, flight or freeze every time; there are other more effective options. Thank you Zach and Laura for teaching me that confrontation can be healthy and how to experience my emotional landscape.

secret TherapyI like it.The hosts of this show live in states far from the south, so it’s nice to get perspectives on relationships that are different from the people I interact with on a daily basis. They also give practical advice, and I appreciate their authenticity. The length of each episode is manageable as well. Thanks, Zach and Laura😊 Especially appreciate the most recent episode and Laura’s vulnerability and Zach’s patience❤️❤️❤️
