    Love the show!
I discovered the show well over two years ago and listening to all of the shenanigans makes the work day go a bit smoother…

    One of the Best
This is the tiki podcast I return to again and again because it feels like a genuine conversation amongst friends- the kind you have in your own bar a few Tí Punches in. Truly hoping Sunshine and the ladies of the lounge are all able to work it out. You guys all have great chemistry and dirty minds. My kind of people.

    Random fun!
Random topics, random drinking, and some how they still talk tiki. It is very much like sitting next to interesting people in a tiki bar and eavesdropping.

Get a Cocktail and Have Some Tiki Fun!
No excuses, if you want to enjoy a virtual tiki bar this is your stop. Love it!

Welcome back to Sunshine and the ho ho hos
Kidding! Great to have you, the ohana and even Neighbor Nicole back for more shenanigans. Been listening for a while and your show does really make us all feel like part of a dysfunctional (emphasis on FUN) family. I do have a question about something a little different - barware! I love the recipes and you’ve definitely pointed me in new directions with alcohols, but what are your “go to” or indespensable bar gadgets? Keep up the great content and looking forward to meeting you all at a future in-person event! Mahalo Kevin aka “Techy Tiki”

    A cult I don’t mind being a part of
Startshine makes the funniest one-off comments 😂love how personal Sunshine and all of you are. So entertaining and definitely improves my drinks IQ. Thank you for the time, effort, and personality you put into your show!

What can I say about Starshine’s voice? I can’t decide if I feel like I’m being seduced by my high school crush or scolded by my mom’s best friend who doesn’t understand boundaries. Her silky suave cadence coats the eardrum with subtle spice and fills the ear canal with a juicy finish. Her surprisingly round earfeel brings the listener to distant, gentle shores. All of this would be very nice if she didn’t remind me of Ellen, who we don’t like anymore. Her infectious laugh makes me feel strangely aroused, which is confusing. I think Starshine sounds nice, but only because she doesn’t want anyone to think she’s a jerk, not because she’s genuinely nice. But above all else, I guess Starshine’s voice makes me feel like I’m listening a rejected applicant’s voice reel for the role of Bart Simpson. In all seriousness, I love Starshine and all of the Zen Tiki Lounge crew. The podcast is exactly the pleasant surprise that I felt when I sipped my first cocktail in a tiki bar: it’s the podcast that I didn’t know I wanted until I had it. I can’t wait until I open the doors to my own tiki bar so I can welcome the crew an exotic cocktail or seven. Cheers, Matt from South Carolina

    All-time favorite!
Thanks sunshine and crew for introducing me to high tiki culture. It takes me one whole episode to mow my law, and the grass is starting to grow real fast so please give us more episode :) You're show is must-listen radio for the whole neighborhood while drinking Mai tais by the pool on saturday (because we play it real loud on the outdoor speakers). OK so here's my question. We're gin drinkers. Is it possible to make a mai tai (like drink) with gin? If not whats the next best thing? Does gin go well with falernum?

Hello Sunshine and all the ladies! The wifey and I are fairly new listeners. We just built out backyard tiki bar and are scouring the information highway for all things tiki when we came across your show. We live in Vegas and I usually do the opposite of most and travel to California every other week for work. The podcasts have been a delight and keep me entertained the whole way. Just heard the new one with Nicole. She’s A DOR ABLE ! Please have her back. Getting vaccinated this week so we will definitely be at the Arizona Tiki Oasis since it conveniently falls on our anniversary! Hopefully we can say hi and partake in a socially distant cocktail together! Keep up the great job! Mahalo El Rey & Lola The Smoking Monkey Tiki Lounge

    Love it!
I’m writing this because Starshine said ‘moist’ just for me. Fun group of personalities! Always make Mondays and road trips go by a little faster. Love learning little bits of Tiki lore and history, mixology and cocktail tips and tricks, and new music sources along the way. Thank you! EA Dallas, TX

    A Fun Group of People!
I have been listening to Zen Tiki Lounge since the very beginning ~ over ten years ~ and I've listened to every episode. My husband & I always listen to this show on our drive to Las Vegas. The host, Sunshine, is witty & smart & entertaining; a joy to listen to regardless of what he's talking about. But, the real reason that I've listened for over a decade is becuase these people always put a smile on my face. They are funny without trying to be funny ~ especially Pumpkin. She is simply the best thing on the internet. Another lady in the lounge is Kalani, who I wish would sing on the show more often. She has suh a beautiful voice. Starshine would like me to write something snarky about her, but I can't think of anything to say other than she's an entertaining storyteller. I hope the show never ends!

    One of my favorites
This podcast is so much fun. Especially now when I’m feeling blue about everything going on. When I listen to The Zen Tiki Lounge it’s like I’m hanging out with old friends who make me laugh. Keep up the great work! Mahalo! (Sorry I couldn’t think of anything snarky to say😄.)

    Deliciously entertaining
Day 55 of “sheltering in place.” I couldn’t tell you exactly how I stumbled on to this podcast, but I’m sure glad that I did. Though I’ve only managed to listen to a dozen or so, the fact that there are over 400 more to go fills me with anticipation and makes my relative seclusion a whole lot more palatable. “Sunshine Tiki” and his co-hosts are such interesting and genuine people, smart and funny and seem to have such a good time doing this show.

You need more tiki in your life
Tiki afficionados are wonderful people, and this podcast is a wonderful introduction to what makes the hobby/culture a delight. Give it a listen, you won’t be disappointed.

    Nice
In this time of quarantine I’ve turned my bathroom into a personal spa and this podcast provides the perfect ambiance. Thank you so much.

    Love the show but...
Love the show but let’s get an auxiliary show once in a while where everyone gets a lot drunker (or possibly stoned) and tackles some of life weightier topics and concepts. Existential escapism is en vogue in 2020. Stay safe, stay sane. D. in Marin You can’t spell culture without cult. -Been It

    Love the Zen Tiki Lounge
I love the Zen Tiki Lounge and can't recommend it enough. First and foremost, this is a group of friends who come together to enjoy each other in a Tiki, cocktail, exotica context. They are smart, lovely, good people, who have a great time together-and share it with us. I have a lot of fun listening to them, and am instantly transported to a dimly lit Tiki Bar in my mind which is so much fun. I noted they are smart. Part of what keeps me coming back is what I learn about many subjects while listening to them. So while it is a lot of fun to hang out with them, you get invaluable perspective on various aspects of culture. I also noted they are lovely. If you enjoy Tiki, you probably enjoy the Ohana spirit. This spirit flows amply from these very fine people. They are gracious and generous with this spirit, whether you are simply a listener or you have pleasure of meeting them in person-or even getting to enjoy one of their room parties-which are amazing!!! Mahalo Zen Tiki Lounge!

A laid back and thoroughly enjoyable ride
While this podcast will not satisfy your need for highly organized and profoundly informative exposition of Tiki Pop — you will find neither exhaustive research nor thoughtful debate on the aesthetic elements or socio-economic ramifications of mid-century, Polynesian-theming in U.S. lounge-culture — it is one of the most enjoyable chat-based podcasts I’ve ever come across. Listening to three episodes inspired me to *concoct* my own and first batch of falernum, and listening to five has me hooked. I would love for the hosts to be able to post a couple times a week, but understand that the ability to get down to that “dimly-lit tiki-bar in your mind” isn’t a full-time job. I am genuinely looking forward to the next episode.

    Average
Mediocre non tiki music. Annoying podcasters. Not much going for this faux tiki nod cast.

    Tiki Essential
This podcast, Quiet Village and Exotic Tiki Island are my go to essential tiki podcasts. I like that ZTL Is a potpourri of tiki: drinks, music, events, and just plain goofing around. Craft a tiki cocktail, pull up a chair and give it a listen, it’ll put you in a nice place!

    Love it
I love this awesome podcast, My wife and I met starshine Et Al at tiki Caliente, bought some rocks glasses, enjoyed a cocktail and life was good. We listen as often as possible and simply enjoy, cheers and keep it up. Thank you for everything you do..

    Super fun
What a great time. This podcast is the secret ingredient that prevents hangovers. Or gives you the sweetest hangover. Whatever, it makes your life better. And the best part is there is no line for drinks! (Also the hosts!)
  • goodguyseatpie
    Couldn’t finish an episode.
Meandering and rambling. One of hosts was so annoying.

    Fun, Fun, Fun
Perfect way to extend the weekend or get ready for the next! Boozy, snarky, funny and just a great listen. Might even lean something about a Tiki drink or two!

    Lovely Tiki podcast!
Love all the bar tricks and tunes! Mahalo!

    Like hanging out with friends!
Fairly new listener to this podcast but loving it already! Every episode usually starts with a unique cocktail recipe followed with listener questions from sunshine’s sweaty sack, followed by banter between the hosts. They cover topics ranging from tiki events, bar experiences, toenail remedies and late night lightsaber duels with giant yard o’ beefs! If you are an amateur mixologist I think there’s a lot of great info to glean from Sunshine’s recipes! This show has the feel of catching up with friends over a fresh round of cocktails! If this sounds like your thing, it probably is, give a listen! Mahalo!

    Obnoxious and informative
Fun and obnoxious, these jerks are a hoot and a half! Lots of info on rum and I get inspired to try new things. They keep me company during my drives in to work, and I don’t even remember the drive. Not sure if that’s a good thing or not......

    Tiki Fun!
I'm new to all things tiki and was looking for a fun tiki themed podcast and this is it! If you're looking for a chill tiki time then look no further!

Makes me want to drink in a good way
Sunshine is an expert in cocktail and exotica culture. He’s fun. Starshine, sorry, I know you love a bad review but you’re fun, too. Kalani, you’re sweet but have a raging case of interrupt-itis and it makes it hard to focus on the person you’re perpetually talking or singing over. Pumpkin, um....meh. Anyway, thanks for putting so much effort into entertaining us!
  • BangArang6
    Tiki Must
If you are into Tiki this is a must listen. Lots of drunken chatter, cocktails and good music. My only issue is the constant promotion of Zaya Rum. But only cause it’s a garbage run and they could be drinking something much better.

    Shows are Uneven
Love this show but I can't say there are problems. Sunshine Tiki (the guy) is really great and clearly the M.C. here. Lots of great info, enthusiasm for all things tiki and parties and such. He preps the show so well and there is lots here to love. Love the music and recipes that are shared. Very entertaining. When paired with a single female cohost the show is still pretty good. It's when there are two or three ladies when the show goes off the rails. It is not fun to listen to several (seemingly) drunk ladies interrupt and mumble and scream and interrupt during the show.

    The Mai Tai of podcasts
I have been listening to Sunshine Tiki and the ladies for a couple of years and this podcast is like a lively conversation with friends around the bar.

    Fun Times
I love listening to the Zen Tiki lounge for some wacky banter and creative cocktail recipes. Just got into the world of tiki recently and this has been my favorite podcast on the topic. If they opened a bar, I would visit.

    Dig it!
This is my fave podcast to listen to while I'm at work 'cause it makes me feel like I'm hanging out with drunk people at a party (instead of being at work).

A delicious cocktail of crass, instructive, and uplifting Tiki talk.
Listening to Zen Tiki Lounge is my favorite way to kick off the weekend. It's a wonderful combination fun, racy chat, combined with delicious cocktail recipes and relaxing exotica music. Whether they're talking about about how to handle a big Richard without breaking it or playing "What's in Kalani's Bra", it's always a great time with Sunshine Tiki and the lovely ladies of the Zen Tiki Lounge.

Hallelujah! The Tiki Gods smile on this podcast
Step into this tiki bar-cast, exotic music and drinks, charming hosts. A mini vacation whenever you need it.

    Good old Tiki FUN!
I recently started listening to ZTL as I was looking for something to entertain me on my 1-1.5 hour drive to work (at Forbidden Island in Alameda, CA) and man am I satisfied. I tried listening to a single podcast a year or so ago and was a little put off at first, but I decided to give these guys another chance and am so glad that I did. I find their conversation, topics, and live episodes a total blast. It really does feel like I am sitting in their dimly lit Tiki bar as I listen in the car...maybe that's because I'm practicly sitting in stand still traffic. Who knows!! Additionaly, I'm pretty new to attending Tiki events so it is nice that the hosts spend so much time discussing them. I'm so excited to get back to Tiki Caliente so I can actually attend their room party this time. Anyway, it's nice to hear all the great tiki talk, especially about the SoCal tiki bars as I just moved from Orange to San Jose...I worked for a certain man named Trader Sam. Cheers and keep up all the great work!! -Brian Rechenmacher (B-Rex)

    classic good time!
I've only just discovered this podcast on now their 360th episode so I decided to start as far back as was posted and work my way up. I've only made it through a few episodes but am really loving it. I have the podcast app on my iphone and I've found myself putting it on any time I have spare time, driving, cooking, etc. I've got a long way to go, but so far enjoying the crap out of it. As a big fan of Tiki drinks and lifestyle, they really cover all the bases and add in a lot of good time random commentary. Really captures the spirit of tiki culture. Looking forward to plowing through the next 100+ episodes!

    Zenalicious!
I love listening while I'm working. The descriptions of the drinks give me something to look forward to come 7 pm. Thanks for the drinks and laughs!

    Great podcast
ZTL is a lot of fun. It is one of the reasons that I got into Tiki cocktails and culture. It's a great resource to find out about music and events.

    Terrible
Annoying drunks flapping their gums to amuse themselves; they certainly don't amuse me. Being drunk does not make you witty, it just makes these 3 loud mouthed idiots.
  • ArtVandelay701
    A podcast for people
Staggering insight into the human condition filtered through a glass-blown Harvey's Lake Tahoe ashtray residing atop a kidney-shaped, cocobolo coffee table, littered with Sanka grounds and last evening's 14th rum runner. Approach with extreme irresponsibility, and be sure to get tested within a fortnight. So yeah, highly recommended.
