Came across this podcast randomly when searching for one that had covered Nick Markowitz’s murder after seeing a TikTok about his story. I feel like some of the reviews are a bit harsh! Unlike other true crime podcasts I listen to, this one is definitely more conversational but it feels like you’re listening to a friend recount the cases while still sharing the necessary facts. There is some banter and pop culture reference but that’s the personality/point of the podcast!

If I were a family member or friend of one of the victims you covered, I’d be hurt that you think flippant quotes and “I’m just being myself haha!” is appropriate for the worst tragedy of their lives. “‘Light’ true crime podcast” shouldn’t mean “cheerful, jokey true crime podcast.” It’s incredibly insensitive.

I discovered this podcast via a recommendation from one of my all time fave podcasters (shout out Heather Ashley at Big Mad True Crime!) First episode I listened to, The Murder of Steve McNair, was full of “bloopers”, meaning, word flubs and the podcaster made it very clear that she had ZERO understanding of the topic (football) nor the script she was reading. Super bummed to say that I have no desire to listen to this podcast again.

Made it 10 min in to the lost boys episode and couldn’t cont. didn’t like the laughs and pop culture jokes on a murder case

Love listening, but being from Ohio, I cringed every time you pronounced Bellefontaine wrong. 🫣 It’s belle-fown-ten. I know other people do your research/write your scripts, but researching city pronunciations should be researched on your part since you’re the voice for your podcast.

Tyrella is doing great on her own, I understand people leaving their opinion about the show in a review but most negative reviews seem like an attack not constructive criticism, give the show a chance and move on if you don’t like it. Simple. I think it’s great! I’ve binged every single episode even the OG ones

Please never have Nikita on the show…she was insufferable to listen to…I LOVE your show otherwise.

I’m true crime obsessed.. I have Crime Junkie, Housewives of True Crime and Morbid in my library, and while I enjoy those, Killer Queens is the definitely one of the best female led true crime podcast out there. BUT there are a lot of ads it seems like. Tyrella you’re doing so well by yourself!!

It’s really not the same with just one sister and the banter made the show come alive…. Now it’s kind of… boring?

Stick to the script. This show has become impossible to listen to. She keeps interjecting with her own stories and it’s hard to even follow the scope of the intended story. Definitely not the same and hopefully she figures out how to do this alone.

Good grief I can’t listen anymore. Host can’t help herself but chime in (literally every 2 minutes!) with her own silly stories. This makes it so difficult to follow the crimes they’re discussing. Unfollowing.

I absolutely love Tyrella ! And im going to completely disagree with previous reviewer- you don’t need Tori! You do a great job on your own girl! This is a fantastic show- reminds me of my childhood growing up in the 90’s and hearing cases in a lighter way without gruesome details- I 10000% support this podcast and recommend

I have listened to this podcast for a few years now. Don’t really understand how you can say you love your fans of the show and not give any general information about why Tori left. It’s just not the same without you both on, and with no reason why leaves your listeners to assume too much. Hard to listen to now, just because of the magic you had together. Sad 😔

Honestly, Tori was the only enjoyable part of this podcast for me. She has such a great voice for this. Now that she’s gone there’s no reason for me to listen to the shrill voice of the other sister. Unfollow.

I started listening to KQ after I felt like I was in a podcast slump and was looking for a new one. I gave them a chance for awhile because my hairdresser had recommended it to me after we discussed another true crime podcast we both enjoy. These girls are so incredibly disrespectful to the victims, joke around and get off topic constantly (pretty sure they are the only ones who find each other funny), bicker and call each other names and are just generally annoying with dumb quotes and whiney voices like “thaaaank yewwwww”. Plus, the ads are excessive and subscription cost is comical considering other podcasts do it way better and don’t do either of these things. Now, apparently Tori has left the show with no explanation and Tyrella is saying not to ask questions. Just weird.

Just listened to the bike path episode. In terms of women always having to be more vigilant than men, the FBI reported in 2022 that in the US, there were 14,441 men murdered compared to 4251 women. Based on that statistic, it seems safer to be a woman. The attacks on women are certainly more sensational, but men are bigger targets. As a woman, I recognize the need to use common sense in terms of safety. But I also understand statistics. It’s highly unlikely I’ll be attacked like these poor victims were. Live your life.

First, I love this podcast I’ve been listening for about a year and a half. I’m listening to the duct tape murderer episode and you guys talked about renewing your drivers license and fun fact in Arizona you don’t have to renew it for a long time like I got my license when I turned 16 in 2016 and I don’t have to renew it until 2065. I find it interesting because other states aren’t like that and in other states they sometimes look at our license as a fake because of it. Anyway love you guys! Okay I still love the show buttttttt…. The ads are killing me theres so many.

A decent podcast but having an ad break literally every 10 minutes makes it a chore to listen to.

Tyrella and Tori truly perfected the light hearted take on true crime. As sisters, they are able to joke and banter in such a genuine way that, no matter the case or topic they are covering, there’s this level of comfort. It’s obvious that they have a deep connection not just as sisters, but also as individuals which is such a beautiful thing. They narrate the pertinent facts and circumstances of each case while remaining respect to the victims and their families. They try to understand each perspective and are able to be empathetic to all parties without being dismissive. Podcasters don’t have to know everything about everything nor do they need to pronounce every word correctly; podcasters should be honest with what they know and not care about the little things because that’s not what the podcast is about. I appreciate that Tyrella and Tori have embraced that. These ladies deserve all the listeners in the world!! Their appreciation for their listeners and the work they do to put out such great content is unmatched.

I liked this podcast until one of them seemed to make a backhanded snide comment and I had to stop following and not listen anymore. One of them said something a little condescending about the Backstreet Boys probably should’ve worn more FUBU. A black owned clothing company. There was no need to bring FUBU into it just disgusting.

I really hate the podcasts that have great content but they make light of the situations and sometimes people/victims they speak of. This podcast doesn’t do that. I truly enjoy it and you have gained a new, regular listener!

The negative reviews are honestly so petty 🙄 When I first started listening to True Crime Podcasts, I swore up & down I would neverrrr pay for someone’s Patreon.. but then I found “my girls”, Tori & Tyrella, and once I binged all the free episodes, I simply HAD to have more! I’ve been a Patreon member since December ‘23 and still loving it! The Doc Jams are my favorite!! Keep on keepin’ on, ladies. Ignore the negative reviews. One day people will learn - if you don’t like it, don’t listen to it 🤷🏻‍♀️ that simple.

Obsessed with all things crime. Just discovered this podcast, love the ladies interaction together. Informational with a touch of cussing and sarcasm. Do yourself a favor and take a listen!

I have such a love/hate relationship with this podcast. On one hand, the stories feel well researched and Tyrella does a great job telling the stories. I thought I was gone forever when they told the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard story because blaming the victim/women is just so gross. Tori goes off on random tangents and it genuinely sounds like she doesn’t know where she’s going with it next. I fast forward 30 seconds every time she does it and she’s usually still talking. Also, it’s so annoying how she calls Tyrella out any time she mispronounces a word while hysterically laughing. Girl. Stop 🛑 Other than that, I like that they cover more current stories and Tyrella is precious.

Absolutely love these ladies! They remind me a lot of my sisters and I. Love that they include personal dialog as well as stories about themselves that coincide with the stories line! Love the way the episodes are set up and recorded! The witty banter helps with the heaviness of the cases.

you guys are the best! me and my mom found you guys around 2021 and have been super fans ever since. they really take their time and get as much information as they can about the case. they also will start talking about something randomly but i don’t mind it when we are talking about a rough case. i really recommend them to anybody who wants a good laugh and some true crime. i even got a killer queen’s sweatshirt for christmas! keep up the great up! 🩷

What’s the point of issuing new episodes if you have to pay. I’m over it. 3 episodes in a row you have to fork money over for and now it’s getting greedy. It’s a shame.

These negative reviews are so petty. Just because you can’t afford something doesn’t mean someone else can’t. This is their JOB! I hope the ones that are complaining have someone going to their job complaining about how much money they make. Everyone else always wants a raise.. they work their butts off providing amazing shows for us. If you can’t afford it move along to the next one. The choice to leave a negative review just shows what kind of person you are. I’ve listened for years and they are still my favorite podcast, and I listen to podcast all day long while working so I’ve listened to quite a few. Love you girls!

The past tense of "seek" is "sought." I like listening to this podcast most of the time, but occasionally y'all get a little shrieky and the discussion sometimes goes pretty far off track, but I do enjoy some of your expressions (stuff like "smaller'n your mom's jack russell terrier", and "say hi to your mom'n'em") and I feel like you MOSTLY get your stories right.

I just started listening a few weeks ago but I started from the very first episode and I was immediately hooked I love the banter and the way you tell the case and I can relate to what you say about the cases it’s just all around amazing and I highly recommend everyone listen

Funny caring and knowledgeable about each case 🩷 so I’m sure y’all have been told all ready… I just listened to the Hannah Graham episode and an Alfred Plea is actually pleading innocent but admitting they have enough evidence a jury could find them guilty. And in VA we love the death penalty especially for these ladies; and that plea gets the death penalty off the table 😊😘 hope that helps!!! Again y’all the best!!
