AngelasDongGreat ShowIf you’re ok ignoring their extremely ignorant political takes, they do an amazing job when staying on topic. We just don’t need more people who are pretentious “experts” on the rights and wrong of the world.

Ethan BrockelmanI thought this show was about dang ol moviesLike I said I thought this dang ol show was about the creepy scary movies man but dang ol every time I listen to it these dang ol liberal femboys are talkin about “human rights” and “I shouldn’t have to repay my student loans” sounds like a bunch of liberals that don’t wanna work no mo! Ben and Steve are the best. The show is one of my favorites. Keep up the good work boys!
-
MetalmathieuGood show but too politicalThe hosts work off each other well and they both bring a good amount of humor to the table. They actually give good info on the movies they review, even if it’s a movie I already know quite a bit about they always seems to bring something up that I had no clue about. Would be a 5 star show if not for the constant pushing of politics throughout each episode. It wouldn’t be a problem if it was every once in a while but they clearly have an agenda they want to jam down your throat. I often just fast forward to the point the movie review starts just so I can skip at least some of the political jargon. Regardless of what anyone’s political leanings are, it’s best to focus on making an entertaining show instead of standing on a soap box each episode.

bailey1170Stop the political talkI thought this was a podcast about movies? Please stop the political talk, nobody cares about your political opinions!

loomer415Red & EntertainingI never get tired of hearing about the evils of capitalism, it’s why I listen to this horror movie podcast. Communism has worked throughout the history of mankind. It’s quite entertaining and enjoyable and they never lost me. I appreciate the political sidebars, you should check it out!

SCraw793Dead & EntertainingI really get tired of hearing about the evils of capitalism, it’s not why I listen to horror movie podcasts.Communism has never worked in the history of mankind. For the most part it’s quite entertaining and enjoyable but they lost me. However if you don’t mind the political sidebars you should check it out.

JDB661AwesomeGreat listen! Definite vibe of hanging with some friends who know what they are talking about but don’t take themselves too seriously. Bonus points for not screaming or talking over each other. Highly recommended!
-
DrKoradjiFor a good time listen to Dead and Lovely horror movie podcastI came to this podcast through Uncle Ben’s guitar channel. He and Steve do amazing work. Maybe it’s a Tennessee thing, but the vibe these guy’s cultivate is exactly the same as when I’m hanging out with my buddies, having a few colbeers, jawing about the latest movie we just perused. Sometimes I disagree with them— Sleepaway Camp is the most overrated horror movie of all time and they didn’t like Nope enough—but only a jabroni would dock them a half star for that.

cbreedLOVE this podcast, those humansMy week just ain’t right unless I get to listen to Dead and Lovely. I LOVE horror movies, but my partner is less of a fan, so I have to only show him the best of the best to keep getting them on deck for movie nights. This podcast is essential for my choices. Also, one episode helped me work through a structural issue I was having in a short story and another introduced me to my new favorite whiskey. That’s a great value on a dang free podcast! Bonus: If you support them on Patreon, you get to suggest movies!

D.S. ThompsonLeave the politics outWould be a great show if they left the political crap out. I’ve listened to several of the shows and not one without making several political jabs. I don’t care which side of the political isle you’re on. Stick to the movie and drink reviews.
-
RyInWonderlandThis Podcast Gave Me ✨Powers✨I started listening after the great bunch of lads over at Jack of All Graves hyped it up a bunch of times, and I got hooked. I love listening to Ben and Steve chat at the beginning of each episode - with every episode I listen to I feel like I know them better, they feel like my friends! I don’t even drink, but I love hearing them describe the col’ beers they drink. Their movie reviews are phenomenal. They’re both hilarious and insightful, and I find myself impressed with their astute analysis infused with their trademark humor. Oh, also one time they gave me Carrie Powers, so that was neat.

A Butterman👍🏻I’m about 8 episodes deep and I am enjoying it. I will probably listen to every episode

kaco198These Guys!!I’ve been a obsessed with horror my whole life and have had no one to talk about it with. My husband has only a limited tolerance and really can’t understand why I am so delighted by it all. So, after listening to a few really disappointing podcasts I stumbled onto Dead And Lovely. These two surprising guys! Yay! They are smart, articulate, funny, and insightful and do deep dives into alllll the things. I love how they are genuinely good guys. I’ve been listening on my morning runs and my mileage has been increasing dramatically because I’m so drawn in. They make an hour or two fly bye. I was feeling bad that I was getting so much free entertainment so I joined their patreon. I’m so grateful to have stumbled upon it.
-
tsmith678One of my favorite showsI love this show. Ben & Steve have the perfect balance of thoughtful film analysis and the ability to poke fun and be silly.
-
amie638Amazing!I am a huge horror fan and this is my absolute favorite horror podcast. And I have listened to a lot. Growing up in eastern North Carolina I seriously relate to these guys. They’re my kind of people. Love the south but don’t agree with all the “ideals” in the south. They’re hilarious and it’s my kind of humor. And they have wonderful information about the movies they cover and really interesting perspectives that I haven’t necessarily considered. Overall this is always my first listen and I find myself going back to older episodes and loving them just as much. And shout out for mentioning my absolute favorite brewery Burial! They have an amazing coffee nitro 😍

DonJuanito83Best False Crime Podcast Ever!!!These guys are incredible. Not only are they psychic, they bring you the hardhitting falsehoods of crimes long forgotten in time. Listen to the Dracula Murders and The Great Gnome King Takeover of 1985. All they need is more singing and it would break the interwebs!!!
-
greneman33I like things that are niceThis podcast is nice. To summarize: These guys sure talk words good. I like when they make the joke words
-
lordlilfThis podcast is a miracle!Ever since I’ve started to listening to Dead and Lovely my acne has cleared up, the dozens of lawsuits against me have been dropped, and it no longer hurts when I pee! After listening to the entire catalogue while committing many horrendous criminal acts my wife has come moved back in and my son no longer hates me. The weird thing is I don’t remember getting married or having kids… Thanks Ben and Steve!
-
binxl24BEST horror movie review showthis is by far my favorite movie review podcast. i listen to it while i work and i’m always entertained. love their different perspectives on each film they talk about, gives you lot to think about all while still being funny!

Stone-LocDead & Lovely F’sYou guys are hands down the best horror movie, nay, movie podcast around. I have been obsessed for about 2 years now. I started with the episodes of movies I love, came back for the intros of ones I’ve never seen, came back again to watch the movies I’ve never seen along with you guys and now I just listen to endless reruns of your show while waiting every Wednesday to see what you’ll drop next. I’m a central Texasman and a horror, music, beer, wrestling, Van Halen lover just like you guys so I feel like y’all have tailored your podcast just for me. It’s really uncanny. 5 stars, Stone Bob says check it out.

WaytiplantanneMy favorite podcastThis podcast unpacks a lot. When I first started listening to it, I would look for the timestamp of when the episode would actually start talking about the movie. I found the reviews they gave to be incredibly deep diving, filled with metaphoric meanings, interesting facts, sometimes incite into the making of the movie itself, and Director and Producer facts. Obviously well researched, this duo of Hollywood Steve and Uncle Ben intertwine their discussions with silliness and seriousness. After listening to a few episodes, I found myself wanting to know what they discussed before the movie. And I was not let down. Drinking (and reviewing) at least one craft beer every episode, they discuss what they’ve watch that week and fold in a discussion of a topic pertaining to the movie in review. Many times, this leads into discussion of other movies (many that are not horror). Their personalities are the reason I listen. They are honest, good guys with impeccable taste that allow you to share in their friendship. They make you feel like they are your friends. Highly recommend. Especially if you love horror movies.

Don Juan 83IncredibleThese gentlemen are an absolute joy to listen to. If you are looking for a hilarious spin on your favorite horror movies or even ones you’ve never seen, you need this podcast in your life, and I mean now.
-
Jpoe1975Best Podcast Ever! The ONLY podcast that I absolutely MUST listen to each week! Uncle Ben and Hollywood Steve have created something I truly cannot wait to listen to, I even listen to past episodes to keep myself sane while I wait for the new episodes. Love it!

BigMarkyPGreat podcastLove to get leveled out and throw on the best podcast in the known multiverse.
-
CoRofAllGravesI never miss an episodeThis podcast is like going over to your best friend’s house to watch a movie. The flick is fun and all, and it’s cool to talk about it with someone, but mostly it’s just a pretense for getting to hang out. Don’t get me wrong: Their movie chat is phenomenal and I love the insights they bring about behind the scenes stuff. But I’m mostly listening ‘cause it feels like hanging out on a Friday night with old friends. If you just want straight movie talk, you’re probably not gonna have a good time. If you want a podcast that feels like a blanket fort in the living room, these are your guys.
-
HotKarl78Not even a horror fan.But it’s required listening for me every week.

JMP5150Dead & LovelyThe cream we all scream for!

WesW18Insightful, Perceptive, and Fun Horror Movie PodcastDead and Lovely has been a huge part of my entertainment life over the past four years. Each week, Ben and Steve dive deep on a different horror movie. They cover a wide range of sub-genres and never stay on one era for too long. If you are looking for a smart horror movie podcast and want to join a welcoming community of friendly fans, look no further than Dead and Lovely!

TreythethirdGreat podcastFantastic podcast by two cool guys.
-
C.E. BowmanJust all around funOne of my favorite podcasts. They don’t go scene by scene, it’s just a general talk about the film, but I love it. I’m making my way through their older episodes but in their newer episodes, they include a time stamp in the episode description so you can bypass all the chatter and get straight to the movie(except I love the chatter and Preview Palace so I never skip). And when they really lean into their accents, Ben sounds like Glenn from Letterkenny and Steve sounds like Zeke from Bob’s Burgers 😂
-
DelfiniusLove itStumbled upon Ben mentioning this podcast on his guitar channel.. and I am glad I did! I really like the LOTR discussion, and these guys are fun to listen to. Would love to hear more fantasy/sci fi movies in addition to horror!

Daredev1Movie Talk = Great...Everything Else, not so muchI give Dead and Lovely three out of five stars because I am a horror hound and have been since the age of 10. When the Ben and Steve discuss the films, actors, background/history, etc. I am extremely engaged and have learned more about some of my favorite films in the process. However the one and half to two hours “chat” discussions at the beginning of each episode add nothing and are a bit of waste of time...that is what social media outlets are there for. I have detailed a few other points below but this is the gist of the review. That is not to say their personal stories or interactions with a property are dull when in the context of the film they are discussing, just that I personally do not need a recap of a “week in the life of” segment at the beginning of a Lord of the Rings episode. This podcast could also do with a lot less political and religious talk. It is one thing to state that you don’t care for discussions on these topics or even make a statement with evidence, but please get on with the show. I am here for entertainment, not to have an agenda from either side of the political spectrum forced feed to me or interrupt a good discussion about film. Just stay on topic and get to the point. Also, to quote Sigmund Freud, “Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar”. Entertainment can be just like beer...to be enjoyed, not over analyzed and dissected like wine. Not every detail is a hint at social inequality or a racial injustice.
-
ChereeM88The best horror podcast in the multiverseAs someone who loves horror and critical theory, this podcast is perfect for me. There’s deep dives into all your favorite horror films and the ones you don’t enjoy. Ben and Steve are able to give context and theories that broaden the possible readings of the films. I also appreciate that they try to consider feminist theory, queer theory, and other critical lenses that are appropriate to each film.
-
Arulis1995Dead and Love itI recently started listening to this show and I truly can't get enough of it. Super funny and wonderfully indepth discussions. I'm never bored, I laugh a lot, and I get to learn really interesting behind the scenes trivia about these movies. And I've since watched some pretty great films that I hadn't heard of before listening! I really appreciate the perspectives and commentary that Uncle Ben and Hollywood Steve bless my ears with. :) This year has been pretty sucky but finding this podcast has definitely been a bright spot.
-
BobslifebelikeFunny AF for not actually being comedians 🤘Uncle Ben (Not that one) and Hollywood Steve crack jokes and beers while discussing life and horror movies. They talk up the good ones and make fun of the bad in chill conversations while almost always keeping a humorous perspective; no matter what the subject. Although they’ve peaked my interests in many films in which I’d never heard of, starting with something familiar is definitely more entertaining on the initial listen.
-
gr8fuldave1200Good Show!I really enjoy listening to these two guys they often have different opinions than myself but as an American I don’t mind that at all everyone is entitled to their own opinion even if they are wrong. Very funny lighthearted podcast and I really enjoy there cold beer reviews also seeing as though I also enjoy a cold beer especially with a good horror movie! Keep it up boys.
-
Mew1112what a pleasant surpriseI love seeking out pod reviews of movies right after I watch em. kind of a crap shoot tho and often the podcast I stumble upon will be borderline unlistenable. never heard of these guys before but 15 min in they were talking about leftist politics and NEIPAs and I knew I’d found a good one. rly solid stuff
-
Block-HeadGreat DuoAlways a new piece of knowledge found in each podcast. Great Duo

bachamnessAwesomest podcast to feel like you have friends with a common movie interest! This podcast is great to get you watching some of those great horror movies you’ve never made time for. I like to scroll through the list of past episodes and find something I can watch on Amazon or Netflix. After the movie I have 2-3 hours of bonus entertainment that point out things I may not of noticed or confirm ideas I was second guessing. Thanks to the hosts for a great podcast!
